The Dreamer [Private] (Ch3: The Things You Fear Most)

Zappy walks around a large puddle of water.
There's water right here. I can't see what's in it though, might be rocks.

[Explicit Escritoire]

As Explicit move past the puddle of water as well, she notices a glint. She stops and looks closer, examining the puddle. As it turns out, it's actually pretty deep. And the glint is the final bit of magic in the eyes of a thunder wolf. She looks up. "Zappy, watch out! Something up ahead is what caught those thunder wolves!" she says loudly enough that Zappy can hear and with an urgency, but still as low as possible.

[Teal Turken]

What?!
Zappy quickly rushes back to the group, huddling to Explicit's side.
How do you know? I can't see anything up there.

[Jenzy]

He jumps slightly and turns his head, trying to see Jenzy in the dark. Shhh, we don't want to alert our enemy to where we are. Hoping Jenzy wouldn't be too loud as they continued along the way.

Jenzy took out his flashlight and continued ahead...

[Jenzy]

If you need light, just ask me. It's only bright when I turn on the strobe function. Jenzy informs Farsight.

(I'll let you decide what the trap is. My creative box is broken at the moment.)

Explicit points into the pool of water, where the remains of the thunder wolf can be made out. She then looks ahead. "Can you go ahead and tell what it is? Throw a rock or something?"

[Teal Turken]

Okay...I-I'll be right back...
Zappy walks on ahead, further and further down the tunnel until the light from his tail cannot be seen.
He stops finding some kind of odd stone on the ground. He bends down to inspect it and nudges it with his muzzle to see if he can move it. He cannot.
um..what...is this? he pokes at it with his hoof and feels it press down a bit. He releases his hoof with a gasp and presses it slightly, then releases.
It's a button...for the trap?
He looks around the tunnel.
Then what's the trap?
He eyes the ceiling and wall and spots some two chains hanging loosely, both starting from and reconnecting to the ceiling.
um...I think I might know what it is now.
Zappy turns back and walks back down the tunnel to the others. His eyes come into sight.
I think I found it!

[Jenzy]

Hmmm?
Jenzy shines his flashlight at it to see what it is.

[Seriack]

Do you know what it does? He asks the young Changeling.

[Teal Turken]

I have no idea, but there's a rock that pushes down and some chains on the ceiling. Maybe it's some kind of swing trap.

[Explicit Escritoire]

"That would explain how they managed to get all the way back here." Explicit says, giving the thunder wolf one final look. She shivers slightly. "Zappy, do you think you can help us avoid the triggers?"

(Why is my life suddenly chocked full of drama ._.)

[Seriack]

((At times, that seems like all life is...))

[Teal Turken]

I think I can, but maybe only one or two of you at a time.

[Explicit Escritoire]

"Farsight, you and I should go in with Zappy first. The rest can follow suit. Or better yet, maybe we could disable the traps? But how to do that. . ." Explicit thinks for a moment with her hoof to her chin. "Maybe I'll think of something when I see the trap."

[Seriack]

There should be a way to disable it... All traps can be. He replies, wondering how it could be as well.

[Teal Turken]

How are you gonna disable a trap you can't see?

[Explicit Escritoire]

"That I'm going to have to figure out. Alternatively, you could disable the traps. Or you could just explain the trap to me and we can guess." Explicit says, not being very sure about the last bit.

[Teal Turken]

I-I don't wanna touch those traps.

[Jenzy]

It's hidden. Gotta find it some way. Though, yeah. I'm not touching one either. I hate traps.

If Zappy could find the traps... Could we use stones to trigger them from a distance...? Farsight wonders aloud.
