I'm pretty happy with most of the voices, except Rarity's and sort of Rainbow Dash's.

Okay, here's my thoughts on the voices (all of the ones that we heard in that episode, not just the mane six):

• Seeing as animé girls usually sound younger compared to English dubs, I accept Twilight's voice.


• Spike is in the same boat as well, though obviously for guys.


• Applejack's... I'm not sure, to be honest.


• Granny Smith's is PERFECT!


• Apple Bloom... I was expecting her to sound better/younger.


• Rainbow Dash... Was the seiyuu (voice actress) sick? (Also, THEY RUINED HER LAUGH DX)


• Rarity... I'm in love again


• Fluttershy doesn't sound as shy... STILL STILL MOE, THOUGH!


• Pinkie Pie = also perfect


• Mayor Mare... NOPE!


• Nightmare Moon... somewhat fitting, though she doesn't sound as evil.

Definately cute, I find I liked Rarity, Twilight, Pinkie, and Fluttershy's new voices, but AJ and Rainbow's were a little odd. Mostly AJ's, I guess it just isn't the same without the southern twanginess.
I wish they hadn't cut out the stars aiding in her escape part. I always loved that little monologue of Twi's.

over all cute and sort of what I expected. I always loved hearing other accents pronouncing English words, and boy was that fun to listen to! x)

Watching the episode without subs was a lot of fun. I mean, of course I knew approximately what their meaning was, since I've watched the episode so many times, but it was neat. I paid more attention to emotion.

I'm cool with all of the voices. If any, AJ's is the most off for me, though.

I mainly meant the sound of her voice, not the way she talks. I expected they'd pick a different dialect for her to speak with to signify that she has a more countryside-type of speech. I know of one or two anime characters that has happened with.
1. Osaka, in Azumanga Daioh. In the English dub, she's given kind of a light redneck-ish accent.
2. I've heard they did it with Gin, from Bleach, but in the English dub, he doesn't have any sort of different accent.

maybe their production is licensed in US only and they don't have enough power to lock videos for rest of the world(they only have representants and redistributors in other countries which probably don't give them enough power)
or YT is too lazy to lock every video they find, even if they made some kind of filter for words there always will be that "leet" guy who replaces letters in filtered words for numbers

Alright, so apparently the dub is following this kinda schedule:

- Streamed on Monday (Tuesday in Japan); go to EqD for a link
- Released RAW on YouTube Tuesday (Wednesday in Japan)
- Subbed and released on Youtube and Dailymotion on Wednesday (Thursday in Japan)

That being said, Pinkie's song in episode 2 got released. If you missed the stream and/or don't wanna wait till tomorrow/the day after, here's the song:
