As someone who's 21 and still learning to drive, I can tell you that it's not quite as bad as you might think.  Between the higher stakes and the instructor constantly telling you what to do, it's surprisingly easy to avoid screwing up just out of instinct.  I've actually done a lot of my best work when I haven't been completely focused (though I never tell my instructor that, of course  )

And besides if you are going to crash the instructor will stop you.One time I was going to crash because I didn't reacted to a car at all but I knew that my instructor will hit the brakes.And when the lessons are to their end you will want to get your license and drive alone.

Unless you fail the test because a pedestrian is looking around on the sidewalk and hasn't even stepped on the road and then you have to take more lessons because they are mandatory.

Anyway, point is zoning out while walking doesn't mean you have anything to be afraid of while driving.  Your mindset while driving is going to be completely different from when you're walking.  Trust me.

Back on topic, here's basically the conversation between my brain and I now every time I hear a mention of cupcakes in MLP:

Me: *shudder* How is it I never even read that evil fanfic, and I still am slightly disturbed every time I hear mention of cupcakes now?!?!

Brain: Because somepony insisted on at least learning the plot of it, and then kept hearing subtle references to it from other bronies, remember?

Me: .....Oh yeah.  Darn my active social life on brony sites.
