I've come to the conclusion that middle-agers are completely and totally useless for financial advice these days. Anytime I talk to them it becomes more and more clear that the entire age group is trapped in some 1970s time warp. Whenever I talk to them about anything economic they give me useless, outdated advice and condescending opinions. It's as if they think the world is exactly the same as it was 30 years ago. I have met exactly ONE exception: My union steward. For most, including my mom and stepdad, it goes something like this:

"I can't believe kids they days aren't happy with minimum wage. I wish I had made $7.25 an hour at my first job, I only made $1.95!"

"You're paying $600 a month for your apartment? No wonder you're broke, you live in a palace. I only paid $50 a month for my first apartment. You kids need to learn to live within your means."

"Kids just aren't looking hard enough for jobs. Anyone can get a job if they just look for one. Me and all my friends had jobs when we are 16."

"Help you with college tuition? Oh, you kids are so spoiled! I worked hard all summer long to pay for my college tuition!"

"Young people are so entitled expecting the government to pay for their healthcare. Nobody ever gave me free healthcare, I paid 3% of my income for health insurance since the day I turned 18."

A dollar was worth a lot more back then (heck, a cent was worth more), and college tuition was about 4 or 5 times less than it is now. And they weren't in the middle of a job crisis.

So, yeah, they need to get with the times, realize things have changed a lot, and learn how economy works.
Where's that stereotypical talk of "I remember when a nickel could buy you a pile of candy. Everything costs so much more these days."?

At least we don't have to walk 15 miles in the snow to get to school these days. :P

"(Ticktock, time is running out) What are you doing now?
I don't know where you are, don't even know your name.
They think I'm crazy, my heartbeat goes up..."

There's so many people that just don't understand stuff like this, mostly because they can't seem to wrap their heads around that there are machines being made that can pretty much take over a lot of jobs, requiring only a few people to maintain and/or control it, a group of 3 people tops with a machine doing the work of previously over 30 people, not to mention woah are things in the US expensive compared to the minimum wage you get, which also tends to be the wage you get because most workplaces are stupid like that.

Don't be afraid to make suggestions regarding any of the characters there if you have some.

It's not an American thing, it's a global phenomenon. Minimum wage in Canada is more or less the same as America when you adjust for purchasing power parity. UK is only a bit higher. Japan is actually lower. In fact, the Japanese working class has to work so long and hard just to survive that they are actually working themselves to DEATH. They even have a word for it: Karōshi.

Australia and Scandinavia are doing better in terms of helping low-wage workers and the unemployed, but even they have jarring generational wealth gaps.

No matter what way you slice it those born between 1950 and 1960 in any developed country were very privilege human beings. They had it better than any generation before or since, not that you'll ever hear any of them admit it.

I've done worse than that; there's a boss I've never been able to beat, so much so that I had to resort to exploiting a glitch in the A.I to beat it.
I'm not sure how to do glitches on purpose most of the time...
nor do i know how the heck anyone finds these glitches since there mostly not something you just run into during regular gameplay (i'm sure there is some kinda device though)
P.s:which boss?

Honestly, some games are glitchier than others, so in some games, it can actually be easy to run into glitches. I have this super glitchy Spyro the Dragon game, where I accidentally ran into a glitch where the game thought I was underwater, so I was able to "fly" by swimming around in the air.

I cheated in Okami once. In the game, there are these monsters that are basically just living walls, called Blockheads. You have to headbutt the Blockhead, and it'll show randomly-placed dots, and you have to remember where the dots appeared and paint dots on where they showed up to destroy the Blockhead. The one on Oni Island is notoriously difficult, and you have to get past him in order to continue the story. I got desperate and googled for a cheat of some kind, and I found out you can just go over him. lol It's really cheaty, but you face away from him, double jump, headbutt the invisible wall on the left, and if you got the angle right, you'll backflip over him when you bounce off the invisible wall.

Ok, I'm hyped as mouch as possible for Fire Emblem Fates. However, I feel the localisation team messed up.
In Japan, one of the main characters is called Marx. (Pronounced marks) What's his localized name? Xander.
By localizing it, they somehow made his name sound even STRANGER.
A self-proclaimed "jack-of-all-media-types". I tend to say "freaking" a lot.<br />My OCs: http://forum.legendsofequestria.com/index.php?topic=13316.0

This is not quite right. Your counting only local workforce, whereas with full automation of labour most of the workforce is not working locally but in the companies that build these machines. A factory will often have machines or parts of machines built by dozens or even hundreds of different companies, all of which need to be engineered, built, maintained and moved around. Whenever the product changes a lot of work is required to retool the factory.

At the beginning of the last century a lot of economists and such theorized that by now we would be working about 12 hours a week. Didn't really turn out that way...

In order for us to work 12 hours a week and make a decent living we'd all have to be paid like 70 bucks an hour. There's no way that's economically sustainable.

Perhaps the localization team is afraid of the negative stigma that most of the western world has with the name Marx. After all, that name is very strongly tied to a style of government that is poorly constructed and seen as a style often used by bad people. It looks good on paper, but it actually doesn't work, but some people still try to use it to run their country, despite its failures.

So, since the name Marx has such a negative association with it, they decided to name him something else that had an X in it. Xander is short for Alexander.

Y'know, sometimes I feel kinda sad about the treatment that the Nobodies get in the Kingdom Hearts universe. I feel bad for them, and I can empathize with that feeling of nonexistence. I mean, they were actually physically there, weren't they? So, they did exist. But they, and everyone else, felt that they didn't. I feel bad for them.

So, I'm just kind of annoyed that they're treated like nothing but heartless villains, except a few special exceptions, and the other characters reassure themselves that it's okay because they're nothing and supposedly don't have emotions.

I've felt this way for a long time.

When you set up a fan documentation of a well-liked game only to find out later that one of the terms you used repeatedly is wrong.
Watch for "Census Taker" (pegasus), "Chuck Wagon" (earth pony), and "Bug Hunter" (unicorn).

Why does my mom keep opening the window located in the front side of the Tv i use?

The idea at the time was that industrialization would continue to make goods and services cheaper, not that we would earn more. They figured that with 12 hours a week would be all we need to make what we need.

What they didn't figure was the fairly substantial overhead and limitations of industrialization and that with it also came rising wages which in turn drive up the price of goods and services again, making is have to work more again.

I'm sure that in another hundred years we will still find plenty ways to keep busy.

I feel like whenever I give compliments to people, others who I have complimented before feel belittled. Like what I say to Person 2 seems much more grand than what I said to Person 1, making Person 1 feel as if they've been indirectly compared to as inferior.

Spoiler: Still don't know what I mean? Here's an example • show

What I said:

To Person 1: Wow, your content was absolutely amazing! Great Job!

To Person 2: Your content was awe inspiring and breathe taking! It was absolutely a craft of divinity!

What my paranoia thinks I said:

To Person 1: It was nice!

To Person 2: You're way better than person 1!

I get that sensation all the time...it really makes it hard to talk with others.  I don't know if it's social anxiety or paranoia, but this is one reason I stay so quiet... >.<
