Emulators. Not because they're pirated games, but because they run stupidly and quite often when you get one it'll be a foreign version.

The performance of an emulator is based on your hardware and how well developed the emulator itself is. At this point you can play PS2 or DS games flawlessly, if you have the hardware.

As for the games being "Foreign" as you call them, that's your own fault for not looking at what you're downloading. Rom sites clearly show what versions of the games they have, all it takes is some reading.

I'm going to have to agree with Yellow. Emulators are just a total pain, more so than learning about graphics cards and hardware about your PC.
MY 2012 LAPTOP should be able to run a game from 2001 on the gamecube!

"Hey what are all these things covering my screen?" No one explains. I can't read it fast enough to understand.
"Who are these factions?" Only explained after you join them.
"This weapon isn't effective" says the game. Tell me, which gun should I use on this guy then?! Not explained.
"Create a team" says the game. Why? "You just need it" that's why. Even if you're by yourself you need to be in a stupid team.
"Hey how can I tell how much energy my AC is using?" Well I can't find that anywhere so I'll just assume this mysterious bar on the bottom right is how much energy I'm using to how much I have.
"Where's my health bar?" Not anywhere that I can see.
"What the heck is the story about?" I don't freaken know. Maybe I need to play the previous games but the game doesn't hint to me about it so I guess the story is unimportant.

THIS GAME EXPLAINS NOTHING TO NEW PLAYERS!
For new players this game comes off as a load of garbage! I can defeat most enemies but the second an AC AI appears it's over. I shot up this one for about 5 minutes and my HUD kept saying "ineffective". I tried scanning it but most of the scan info is gibberish to me. It also wouldn't tell me what WOULD be effective so I just died.

What's the point of selecting your character's home base location? What's the point of having a team if you're the only member?
The camera effects in game make everything blurry and hard to make out and the combat is hardly satisfying...

I'm sorry, but my impressions on AC as a new player are terrible. Maybe there's diamonds behind that wall of confusion but I probably won't ever know.
