Back story: Ryo is a professor and researcher of Dark magic for the royal academy he and his family are well known as one of the few to truly harness the dark element due to a demon that remains sealed within the family Chaos. Called into the dimensional research labs due to having knowledge of an existing mutltiverse from the mind of Chaos he knows some of what is beyond in some universes due to his influence.

Back story: Chaos is the demon of the D Disk family, his true name forgotten in time but his legend is not the demon also known as the destroyer of worlds travelled to many a plane in the multivers sucking them dry and destroying their existence, until finally in equestrian universe he was sealed, by what was the equivalent of himself from that universe, and though the seal prevents his power from reaching its full destructiveness, he is able to exist through time by possessing members of his bloodline

Yes you can be Discord and no he is not leader of the evil group any more than Celestia is of the elements of harmony.
