Even if I tried
I'd still be on this side.
I'm broke to the bone and cannot move
so I'm stuck in this poor groove.
I would be better
if the weather
was more accepting towards my feathers.

A rhyming game? Oh, I do say
That I would love to join the fray!
Though I am sad, it does appear
I might not read from front to rear.

It seems people's skills here do make the cut,
I'm a bit shabby; I may be in the rut.
Time to polish my rhyming skills,
And sharpen them to the point it kills.
Wait for it...

I'm glad indeed, to see that there
Are ponies new who rhyme so fair!
An honor 'tis to have you write
Your verses here with words so bright!

Magus, you flatter me with all your wit.
Your rhymes are superior, I shall admit,
For I have read your writing and style.
Impressed me, you have. That's no easy trial.
Wait for it...

I'm quite glad too that this topic's alive
I thought it was dead, but now new rhymes can thrive.

Now anyway, I have to come clean:
there's something that irks me about this scene
This thread tends to be all poetic and elegant
Making mere prose seem dull and irrelevant
Yet always I struggle to keep in mind
That it's for poem-type rhymes, not the rappin' kind.
I stick to good form, but all the while
I'm thinking "man, this is cramping my style."

That may be true, but you musn't forget
The elegance of the words been set.
I am happy as well, that this thread now lives
And to be in a group that loves and forgives.

About random things like chocolate rain.
Perhaps we should set a topic
That we are to rhyme about in vain?"

In vain?  Perhaps, but in a sense
Our rhyming here our skills condense
To better write with speed and wit
In poem form as we here sit.

I have something on my mind
it has been hard to find
anypony i know well
to go and tell

ShadowHeart

What you have on your mind
I'm afraid I cannot find.
Speak your thoughts
and you ought
to speak courageously and kind.

To share opinions is good,
It lets us grow, indeed it would.
For when we each advise the next,
We better skills and written text.

Texting takes your mind away

some games in the future near
maybe something with a bear

i sit on here
but not just so mere
too close to the screen
its sending out laser beams
its hurting my eyes
so i start to cry.
i shut it down
while it steals my crown
when i walk away
it takes my breath away
i turn around so quick
its giving me a kick
i steal it up
as i see a big yup
the red figure
its getting bigger
i want it its mine
all i can do is rhyme
i send out my words
as i was flying as a bird
send me the crown
i look all around
i find a shadow with a shimmer
ohh no time for dinner
i take it so fast
to were i left the past
i am in control
i charge at it like a bull
from deep down in my soul
and hit the green glow
as i give a short blow
its done
now time to run

(little poem being late for dinner)

Not sure I share that feeling, Magus
Although we could at length debate this
I'll try to make this clean and quick:
Opinions can make a pony act like a jerk
Differences breed bitterness and rage
Surely you can't deny that, mage
Many of our interactions
Lead to troublesome infractions
None have surpassed this summary yet:
Spoiler: show

(yeesh, I'm losing my poetic grace
the meter here is all over the place)

I hope that didn't make you blind.
Your poem there just blew my mind.
An epic tale of lasers and birds
I'd say more, but there are no words.

Opinions, though they may bring strife,
When heard can be a nation's life.
Without it, freedom would there be?
Would there not be tyranny?

Is life so dear or peace so sweet,
To warrant thoughts be bound and beat?
When peace with tyranny is bought,
Repressed are feelings, minds and thought.

Liberty to say one's will
Is necessary, not just skill.
It breeds invention, thoughts anew,
For many thoughts surpass the few.

When ponies here opinions share,
Would not the forum better fare?
The endless stream of brand-new thoughts
Would much improve our great world's lots.

Or so I think; of course you may
Have thoughts that differ in some way.
But that is why we tolerate
And love, not stifle and berate.

OMG Magus! That was so good!
I've always admired your way with the word!
I've always loved rhyming and speaking with good timing
but you're almost like a rhyming lord.

Be open-minded, Magus states.
The way we have will change our fates.
However, why can't others see
What we think or how we agree?

We conjure up ideas and such
To share them and appeal as much,
But others may want to shoot down
These same ideas and steal the crown.

Agression, oppression, tyranny too
Is caused by views that can askew
Their open-mindedness, you see.
It causes some to run and flee.

Unfortunately, they can't change their mind,
Their poor quality, or their way unkind.
Set the example for them, bronies must
To turn that idealism into dust.
Wait for it...
...
...

The Wandering Magus

We try to love and tolerate,
And not give in to fear and hate,
But even bronies can at times
Be mean both in and out of rhymes.

But we will try to do our best
To never raise above the rest
One or another, for we all
Are ponies who can also fall.

None of us are perfect, no.
Wherever each of us might go,
There will be times when we will fail,
So let us not at others wail!

Now this makes me stop and wonder
How nicely jerks might act if under
A curse that forced them to act nice
Except with rhymes, cruel and concise.  ovO
