Who would you perfer as a Nation leader?

according to Lauren Faust, who wrote the episode and backstory for Luna, the reason she was banished the first time was literally because ponies were starving and suffering.  you can't plant anything and have it grow without sunlight, and the sun is what warms the entire planet.  imagine if day never came.  vegetables, grass, trees, animals, everything would die a slow death, and then the world would freeze over.

Luna, she's desperate to prove herself (at least I would assume) and is experienced as a princess.

If it had to be one of the mane 6, I'd say Twilight Sparkle. She's the most logical and supposedly intelligent pony of the mane six. She's also much more mature and reasonable than Rainbow Dash, Rarity and Pinkie.

Rainbow Dash, despite her element of loyalty, is very much into herself (who wants that in a leader?) and is short sighted. Fluttershy would be too shy to ever make the hard decisions, especially if it meant that someone would have to get the short end of the stick. Rarity, well, there's a reason why the Cakes weren't surprised when she denied their request to babysit their twins for no real reason other than she didn't feel like it (reminds me of myself, ). Applejack is more of an athlete than a leader, and she is devoted to her farm. Pinkie Pie well, I really don't have to say why for her. xD

Never occurred to me to think about that. But then again, that was Nightmare Moon and not Luna. At this point in our little debate, it appears Celestia is more prevalent, but in my fanboyism for Luna, I now have no choice but to stick to my guns about there being more to her transformation than just simple jealously (similar to Anakin being convinced to side with the Emperor, perhaps) and that despite all that is said and done, I still strongly feel Luna would be a greater leader. Unless of course her transformation was pure jealously. Then she'd be a horrible leader. But she is still uber cute and will forever remain on my top 5.

well, can't really argue against that xD  but seriously, there's been really so little actual showing of leadership styles (in terms of governance and politics) that most of this is speculation.

BUT, if you're hedging your bets on Luna's little "episode" being something external, then you'd better hope and pray that it doesn't repeat anytime soon, or at all.

I feel like Luna's still too young to take over as a leader, she even has trouble keeping up with the modern world ever since she returned from the moon.

Luna:she doesn't even know much about the modern world.I bet she wouldn't know what appeloosa is since it was made 2 years ago relative to the appleloosa episode meaning it was made 1 year before nightmare moon was cured.

Derpy:Seriously?Why is this a choice?No matter how much you like derpy she wouldn't be a good ruler.This isn't a fav. pony list you know.

Cadance:All she did was babysit Twilight.I don't see why she is royalty.

Shining Armour:would work , but sadly all he knows about running equestria is the militia meaning he will probably start a few wars.

Mayor mare:She fails at taking care of ponyville I doubt she can take care of equestria.

Celestia:Saved all of equestria multiple times , and had ruled it for over 1000 years.Everything is top notch under her rule yet all of you say she is bad because of your "Trollestia" beliefs which are absouloutly false , and I personally think that when someone calls her trollestia its because hes jealous of her perfection.

ANY of the mane 6:They know 0 about ruling a kingdom.Fluttershy would just cater to animals more than ponies , and would be to shy to make orders.Rarity would only make fashion related things , and spend the continents money on gems.Twilight will only care about education all she will do will come from a book about ruling.Rainbowdash would only care for pegasi needs , and herself , and would brag too much about it.Applejack doesn't know a single thing about politics.Pinkie pie is pinkie pie its self explanatory why she can't rule.If you say they all rule together read over my post.They know 0 about ruling a kingdom let alone sharing it.
