I do like that the map for the road to alpha is being updated as items are literally checked off the chart, but it might be nice to make it so that we can still read what is behind those checks. I had to reread several pages of this thread before seeing again that it was the Inventory System that was finished.

Yes. If you look at our videos, you can see that there are already waypoints that take you to other areas.

Oh I was expecting Trains

The trains haven't been put in yet, but if I remember correctly, the station is already in place, they just use 'portals' for the time being, while they have no trains.

Like Lineage 2? Yes!

They could also do it like in HolyBeast Online: To move from one end of the map to the other you'd take about 2 hours, at least, and every section of the map is connected with portals. I'd explain with more details, but I'm tired. Not feeling like it really. Sweet dreams!

Anarchy Online has a similar system, the map is all one interconnected map, but is separated into different areas. So after a while of walking in a certain area, you reach a border that you walk into, then it loads for about 2 seconds and places you on the otherside of that wall, having loaded up the area.

Although I don't think the LoE map is built like that, it appears as though they went straight from Ponyville to Canterlot, although whether or not that's temporary, I don't know...

Good to hear, should make the game a bit more interesting, but also the option to fast travel for more experienced players.

Just my opinion, but making it so you can only fast travel to places you've visited before might be an idea.

maybe you have to do something to get fast travel?  something simple, like "WELCOME TO THE TRAIN STATION!  Would you like to learn about the <FAST TRAVEL> system? <Yes/No>"

It would be kind of cool to ride inside the train and have an option to sleep through the trip or walk around inside the train with a scrolling background by the windows. Sleep could basically be fast travel and riding on the train could be for people who just like stuff like that, you could make pretty interesting quests if NPC's were on the train.
