Spoiler: WARNING. This is a rant. If you do not like rants do not read. I am not looking to start an argument here, if you do I will ignore you. Opinionated Rant. • show
When people complain about fan service, and this doesn't just apply to MLP, THIS APPLIES TO EVERYTHING.

I constantly see people complain, whine and rage over fan service. It's a tribute, a THANK YOU from the creators of [this entertainment] to YOU. It's very annoying to see people lower the rating of something just because of fan service. If it WASN'T fan service, would it be better or just as bad?
The best analogy I can think of for this is this:
Your best friend comes to your house and knocks on the door. You answer and he gives you a gift for being a loyal, respectful and good friend....and you tell him you hate it and wish he never gave you a gift.
That's the best way to sum this up.

It's very strange to me how fan service is one of those things that people DON'T want. :\

EDIT: Yes this is because of the new episode, but there are no spoilers within this...spoiler.

Yeah, that doesn't make sense.

The only time that it has ever made sense to me was with High School of the Dead, which I will never watch. I've heard that it's so packed with fanservice that it's a clustermess, pretty much almost the entire thing turned into a bunch of fanservice, like a web of fanfics. And you know how anime fans can be, so you can imagine the kind of fanservice it has.

"(Ticktock, time is running out) What are you doing now?
I don't know where you are, don't even know your name.
They think I'm crazy, my heartbeat goes up..."

I've seen it and yes it is pretty much complete fan service throughout the anime

I think I might've done that a bit with the InTheLittleWood style BYYYEEEE I did at the end. What'd you do to make awkward silence? I can't completely remember. I keep zoning in and out of conversations.

I would have to look at the stream, but it only happened twice for me, which I guess isn't too bad

And you're in the zone. It's awkward to try to get back into the zone after you've left it.

This is always tough. When I'm writing it's always bothering.

When someone makes a picture blatantly making fun of "like this if" pages on Facebook, and one of those pages finds it and posts it.

Such gems include:
The idiot Facebook girl meme captioned "LIKE IF YOU SEE YOUR AGE 11/12/13/14/15/16/17/18/19"
A bowl of ice cream captioned "Like if you love ice cream, Ignore if you want to go to hell"

I hate those pages in general. It's not just the annoyingness and stupidity of it, either. They actually exploit any and all pictures they find. They don't care, at all. They only care about likes. They'll even sometimes make up lies about a picture to get you to click like.
"This baby has cancer
1 Like = 1 Prayer"
It was a photo of a baby with cleft lip. :l And sure, regardless of the condition, that is something to feel sad about. However, the person who posted it was simply exploiting it for likes and attention. I'd mention another lie I've seen them post and one that may or may not be a lie, but they're not appropriate for this forum. Neither is one of the appalling, low, and pathetic things one of the pages did.

I'm getting pretty close to unfriending some people and seeing if I can hide certain specific things from my newsfeed. Honestly, it's really disappointing when you think your friends are better and smarter than that, yet they fall for that stupid stuff.

Indeed, It makes me want to unfriend everypony who do that. Seriously, why are they taking the train to stupidville. What makes it harsh, as you've said, they get some random disabled baby pic then post it. Bloody disgrace even to Theists at most.
Hey, I like Doctor Who, writing, playing and singing music, badminton, and MLP.

Worse still, if they have such a desire for attention, there are more productive ways to do it, like the old fashioned ways. I'm pretty sure most of them are still in school. They could start singing, try out for a play, join a sports team, become a cheerleader, some kind of hobby where they actually do something and get the attention they want so badly.

And then the fact that they could at least find charities that deal with the kinds of things that they post and link people to the charities. But nah, they don't really seem to care about the stuff they post. They just look at it and go "I can get lots of likes for this."

You hate cancer? I do too. How about you find something to donate to that works toward helping against cancer. Why? Because "1 Like = 1 Prayer" does absolutely nothing, believe it or not. All it's doing is broadcasting "I have morals and humanity!" which everyone on your friends list already knows.
