Backstory: Captain Boa, if you've ever met him you'd agree that he is as mysterious as they come. For the past ten years, Boa has been working in Canterlot and Manehattan, both in running a shop that sells potions and Magical Items, while also being one of the lead researchers on the studies of Science and Artifice. However, if one were to look far back enough, you'd see that one day Boa just...appeared.


According to official records, Boa was born in the lower eastern regions of Equestria, in a small town part of a series of towns and villages near the border of the sea, these are known as The Coastal Cities. He had always wished to sail the ocean, and when he became of age, he was able to as he was recruited to be part of a "Ocean Exploration Team", as he put it. Boa almost never goes into exact detail, all that he usually says about it that some of the missions he took were "Dangerous and exciting", and that he eventually became the captain of his own team. Eventually, Boa retired from the profession, and set up a shop in Canterlot, naming the store after his ship, The Silver Ouroboros. Soon after, he branched into Manehattan, one of his former shipmates runs the Manehattan store in his stead.


Appearance: Boa is a male unicorn, standing at a full height of around 4'7, and has an athletic body. His coat is forest green, and its color has signs of fading due to age. He has a long black mane with a matching tail, and some facial stubble. He wears a green and white sea captain's jacket, with some black wrappings underneath. His cutie mark is almost always covered by his outfit, but he assures people that it is a cutie mark that represents science and artifice.

Finally, Boa has a prosthetic hoof, while it looks like a normal hoof, one good look at it would reveal that its made of a hard plastic and other materials made to look completely normal, down to the fur. He says that he lost his hoof originally during his time on the sea, and got it replaced. However, he is very protective of this hoof, not letting anypony but him touch it. Many speculate that he has something to hide underneath that prosthetic hoof.


Personality: Boa is a suave, charismatic gentlecolt. Friendly and smart, when he is outside of work he is almost always seen having fun at parties both in the high-end of Canterlot and the more chaotic parties in Manehattan. He is incredibly passionate about his work as an artificer, taking great pride in the items he creates. When he talks about his past, while he generally leaves a lot of details out, he is clearly nostalgic about the memories he talks about.

Abilities: Despite being a Unicorn, Boa has very little natural magical capabilities. The most he can perform naturally are the basic levitation spell, cloudwalking, and a shield spell, both of which put a strain on Boa. However, his skill in artifice has imrpoved his magical abilities, creating magical items for any task he needs done, although this process takes time, with the more complicated items taking days, or even weeks. The following items are what Boa wears to increase his magical abilities:

-A belt that once activated, allows Boa to teleport. Can only use this around ten times a day.
-Boots that allow him to fly short distances. (He can never go any higher than 10-15 feet off any given platform, and the boots can only let him fly for the total combined amount of an hour. (Meaning that if his total time spent flying reaches an hour worth of flying, the boots lose their magical charge and deactivate.)
-The wrapping he wears is magical and seems to magically improve his defense, the only item on him that he did not create.

Finally, Boa carries two pouches. The first, is a pouch filled with rings made to fit around his horn. Each of these rings have their own magical property, however Boa can only use one ring at a time. The second pouch is filled with weird, glowing cartridges. These contain spells of various types. They are Boa's "Weird Science" devices.

These cartridges have exactly six charges, and when they run out, Boa must wait around a day to let them recharge. The spells he has inside these cartridges are:

-Arcane Eye: Creates a small floating purple eye that can travel through small cracks, pipes, and even through walls and windows. It is virtually invisible, so long as people aren't actively looking for it.
-Magic Missile: This cartridge fires around ten magical bolts per charge, and homes in on its target. These attacks are generally weak on their own, but ten can pack quite a punch.
-Ant Haul: Greatly increases either Boa's or somepony's carrying strength.
-Admonishing Ray: Fires three blasts of force energy per charge.
-Darkvision: Allows Boa or somepony to see perfectly in the dark.
-Fireball: Boa's trademark. Each charge fires off a massive fireball.
-Lightning Bolt: Each charge fires off a lightning bolt.
-Knock: Technically not a cartridge, but is one of his weird science devices. A fake tooth hidden inside his mouth, Boa can pull this out and use it to magically unlock any kind of locked door.
Water Breathing: Boa, or somepony who he uses this on, gain's the ability to breathe underwater for a short time.


Finally, the rings in his bags are rings of:

-Protection, which magically increases his defense
-Invisibility
-Protection from Evil

Occupation: Blacksmith
Age: 27
Backstory: Royal is Boa's childhood friend, born a few years before Boa. He was Boa's original shipmate, and for a time, they were the only two before Boa got the rest of his crew. Royal Shot is known for his unrivaled accuracy in his magic blasts. It's been rumored that he was able to hit a flying griffon with one of his blasts...from over 500 yards away. After Boa retired, Royal Shot became a blacksmith.

Name: Coral Diamond
Race: Pegasus
Hometown: The Coastal Cities
Alias: "Crazy Diamond"
Occupation: Singer
Age: 25
Occupation: Coral Diamond was one of the many pirates that plagued the Coastal Cities. Her aggressive attitude and willingness to put her own body on the line earned her the name "Crazy Diamond". Originally an enemy of Boa's, Coral would eventually join Boa's crew after her own was destroyed during an attack from a Kraken. After Boa retired from the sea, she quit being a pirate, and became a singer for the many taverns found in the Coastal Cities...just don't make her angry.

Name: Silver Horn
Race: Minotaur
Hometown: The Minotaur Islands
Occupation: Wrestler
Age: 40
Backstory: Silver Horn is part of a Warrior Clan from the Minotaur Islands, while many Minotaurs use weapons, this clan trains their members in the art of Wrestling. Silver Horn met Boa after the Captain made a journey into the islands. The two fought, and Silver Horn was victorious. However, Silver Horn was impressed by Boa's strength as a Pony, as he was able to survive many of his strongest techniques, and asked to join his crew, for he knew that Boa had a great journey ahead of him, and knew that the Captain would become stronger.

Name: Tal'Sett
Race: Orc
Hometown: The Minotaur Islands
Occupation: Wrestler
Age: 20
Backstory: Tal'Sett is another member of the same clan as Silver Horn. He comes from a second race deep within the forests of the islands, known simply as the Orcs. Where the minotaurs are a civilized race, the Orcs are savage. Living in self-made huts or caves, they barely speak, and almost always fight. Tal'Sett was banished from his group for being weak, and would not have survived had it not been for Silver Horn, who brought him into his clan.

Tal'Sett joined Boa after Silver Horn left the islands to join him. He regarded Boa as strong, having seen him as an equal to Silver Horn during their fight. Tal'Sett and Silver Horn almost always fight together as a team. Their signature technique is the Hurricane Crush
