Backstory

Blaze's Story
Ember Phoenix trotted along, at the edge near the Everfree Forest. She caught a twinkle, that gleamed and called for her. The filly, who was curious; went to check it out. She stumbled across an egg, a Phoenix egg? She picked it up, and it tumbled in her grip. She was careful as she headed home, not knowing something lurked in the bushes. Ember sniffed the air, "Ugh, what is that smell...?" she gagged, glancing around. How odd, there were no signs of a rotten sandwich, or such. The filly stopped, and circled around, until she bumped into a large, wooden creature. "A...A...TIMBERWOLF!" she screeched, bolting the opposite direction. The woody creature followed, the ground shaking as it towered over Ember, a putrid smell emitting from it's throat. The filly panted as her legs began to feel weak, the wolf still following closely. It growled and snarled, green eyes locking on her form, ready to pounce, and gobble her up. Ember screamed as it lunged forward, she jumped and opened her wings. The filly glanced behind, as the creature roared, but she was high in the sky, far away from their jaws! Ember Phoenix sighed, glancing at the bright egg. She cuddled it for a moment, and didn't realize how fast she was going, about some 12-17 miles per hour. Something like that. Ember saw a small flame trail with her colours, behind her. It was like she was going fast, and her colours melted together. The filly was so busy on that, she had loosened a grip on the egg, which slipped out of her hooves. "Huh?" she looked down, to see an egg falling. "AHH! No!" she screamed, once again. Ember charged downwards for the egg, tears at her eyes. She swooped down, that flame trail still behind her as she caught the egg, hugging it on the ground. "Ooh! I almost lost you!" she said, smiling. Crack! Ember looked down, to see the egg splitting open. Another crack, and another; then a small peep was heard. The filly stared, as the baby looked at her, too. It rubbed on her chest. The filly smiled as her flank burned, she turned to see a phoenix mark there, her cutie mark! She beamed as she took her new Phoenix; Blaze, home.

I go onto LoE, I click login, I do the usual, do it all over like 5 times; I pick a server, and it says: "Fail to connect" I've tried it on ALL servers 3 times.

The Story
The Childhood:
Her father; Emerald Finder, was a famous Gemologist/Botanist and scientist. He spent hours, upon hours working in his study. He said he would find the greatest thing in the whole universe of Equestria. Until. . .he passed on. Finder never made that promise come true, and Topaz was torn apart. \/"Daddy?" Topaz mumbled, to her father; who laid in the hospital bed. "Will you make it?" Emerald Finder smiled at his filly, "Topaz... You will follow in my hoof steps, to find the greatest thing In the world... and... live up...to..." he closed his eyes. "Daddy? Live up to what? Dad?" Topaz didn't cry, but she stood there, laying her head on the side of the bed. "I will, Daddy... I will..." she whispered.\/ On her 13th birthday, her mother saved up enough bits to get her filly a Topaz. The mare smiled, and hugged her mother, as the gift was unwrapped. It instantly brought the memories of her Dad. /\The wrapping paper was torn as from the sound, and the gem was help up, it was a brilliant orange, streaks of red visible. "Mom! I love it!" Topaz squealed, and hugged her mother. She held the gem and it was brought back... |"You will follow in my hoof steps..."|/\
The Cutie mark:
Topaz slipped the lab coat on. Or, tried to, it was too big for her tiny filly body. She giggled, "Ha, Ma! I'm gonna be a Gemologerist someday!" Her mother; Flower Rain, chuckled. "It's Gemologist, my little scientist. The small filly laughed. Out the window, was a small field, with some rocks, and long grass. "I'll be outside, ma!" Topaz said, trotting out the door. The grass was pushed back as her tiny body made it through the field. Stumbling upon a small pile of dirt, this adventurous (and curios), little filly began to dig at it, and dig, and dig... until a small gem was found, a shard of a Fire Gem. Topaz had found her first gem. She kept digging, and found a whole cluster of Fire Gems! The filly dragged the gems up, and showed them to her mother when she got back. A burning sensation upon her light cream flank, and the cutie mark was there. A fire, with a purple like gem at the bottom, like if the fire was resting on the gem. It was her cutie mark; her destiny... to find gems.
