Saiko lifted a hoof and was near inches from making contact with the ice, but pulled back slowly. "Please, just come with me. Don't fall prey to her," the golem sighed, hoping that the two ponies would change their mind. Saiko faced the golem and asked quietly, "Who are you first off?"
"I apologize, my name is Alruio, I'm the overseer of this forest. It's my job to keep the place at peace and care for it. As for Akana, she is unfortunately a born resident of this soil and because of her birth rite, I have no power to expunge her. However, I can at least drive ponies away from her. Those who fall into her clutches never return whole."

Akana's voice echoed through the frosted plains, "Please, do come in." The golem behind them stared at the two of them and warned, "Do not listen to her. She is only luring you in. The second you set foot on that ice, you're not coming back!" Saiko turned around, hesitant to tread into Akana's domain. "Whatever you desire from her is not worth the risk. If you follow me, I can lead you out to safety," the golem offered.

"That name...best you avoid her if you value your life," he sighed with disappointment. He looks behind them to notice the grass slowly becoming ice. "Behind you. That is the death you face if you enter her domain," he warned. He took out n unusually shaped rock and placed it in the lantern. Immediately, the lantern was lit and the frozen tundra ahead of them was in full view. Saiko backed up a bit and gazed upon the ice crafted trees and lifeless winter grove. He tried to speak, but was stunned by the unworldly artic forest.

"Ceasefire! Ceasefire!" shouted a deep voice with a calming tone. The unknown creature approached the two on them to reveal himself. He was a golem shaped creature slightly shorter than them with a single glowing green ball of light for an eye. He steps under the moonlight to show them the details of his strange plant like body. He appeared hunch back, his body made entirely of aged wood covered in moss, and had 4 limbs. In one of his hands, he held an unlit lantern and in the other, a raggedy sack about the size of a baseball. "I apologize if I scared you two."

Yes. That is most likely how a majority of the repairs are going to work (depending on how the current story controller  has it set up). It is possible to make contact with them without causing damage.

Ah. Gotcha. Does seeing a brief glimpse count? Like if the past one is looking in one direction and happens to see the present one in their peripheral and turns as they move just out of their line of sight, would it count as an immediate rewind, or would it have to be a face-to-face encounter?

Sorry if these questions are irritating you; I'm just trying to learn as much as possible before the roleplay kicks off.

A rewind will only happen when the past realizes that the repair is them. So just by passing each other without them getting the thought of, "Hm..that guy looked familiar..." won't cause a rewind. But if they notice, "Did...did I just walk past myself?" will cause a rewind.

And don't worry about the questions. I'd be more than happy to answer anymore you have.

The past one is to never notice the repair pony. If it is to happen, a rewind is mandatory immediately.

Alright. Are there any Equestria "exclusive" time laws that one would know before starting this journey?

A few:

• If the repair pony's past self is in a broken timeline, they are to never notice each others' presence.


• If the repair attempt has failed, the Time Keeper may hit restart, but each time it's restarted, the changes in the timeline become more drastic.


• When entering a new timeline, no souvenirs may be brought.

Saiko began sweating from the anxiety caused by the situation. The crunching of the leaves continued to crescendo until a single sickly green light could be spotted about 20 feet away. It was too dark to distinguish what it was, but soon after the light went into visibility, a trudging sound accompanied the leaves. "Perhaps running would be a better idea..." Saiko whispered to Dark Hooves.

Never got the help (parents died), so never learned about the power of friendship. She became cold hearted. She isn't easy to befriend. She will not accept help from others unless her life in and of itself is in danger. Internally she still has trouble dealing with the loss of her parents. As well as the fact that something doesn't feel right.

Other Notes: In damaged time line she does not have the silver crystal rose mane accessory or glasses. She also tries to hide her crystalline coat and cutie mark with black cloths and dust. Doesn't use the magic crystal glitter.

Damaged Timeline:  Normally, Checkmate would have been accepted into the guards as a tactician, where he would become one of the best tacticians in history.  Once in this position, he would live alone for the rest of his life.  However, once changed, he would not be accepted into the guards, and his talent would go wasted, with him working menial jobs to get by.  Without his command, many criminals who would've been caught were instead never captured.  As a pony, without an outlet for his intellect, Checkmate is depressed and even more withdrawn than normal, having gained somewhat of a reputation as a "hermit."  If not helped, he will most likely waste his life, seeing as he is starting to feel like he has no purpose.
Other Notes:  Extremely emotionless, so emotional attempts to attract him do not work. Doesn't understand love or attraction between ponies.

He's... a bit of a derp. Of course, he's the mean-well sort and has dreams set above himself (Though, not too high. He honestly just wants to be the best winter-wrap-upper.) He has some hobies including rock collecting and tree-naming. He always wished he enjoyed art more than he does, but his life outside is usually pretty distracting enough. Nicknamed just Abstract, he fills what extra time he does have with spontaneous things. Still lives with his parents and doesn't think much about it. Grew up between Ponydale and Cloudsdale and has friends in each.

Damaged Timeline (What changed): Abstract doesn't know it, but he was adopted. Unfortunately, his adopted parents got caught up in a storm caused them to find a different child at the time and place Abstract got adopted previously. In the alternate dimension, Abstract is a stray with a pretty cold heart. Rather withdrawn, he joins a band of misfits and co-leads the group whose beliefs bring them to the edge of society. He believes himself to be truly from Cloudsdale and still has a hobby of rocks and trees... but his new life caused him to, for whatever reason, be obsessed with butterfly breeds as well. He finds himself more as a rebel than anything.

For each timeline, whoever's it is has near full control of the situation from npcs, settings, etc. For a majority of the time, you will be guiding the story, but a few times, I will temporarily take control. As a reminder, please keep the story PG. After each completed timeline, the subject may accompany Rush into the next timeline. Until then, please remain patient until your part of the story is up. The order of the timelines of course will be chronological, so first to sign up to last to sign up.

Where am I?...What is that ticking noise?...Why- Rush's thought was interrupted by a poking to his hoof. He open your eyes to face a strange owl shaped android made out what appeared to be copper and cogs. It was twitching heavily with small cogs falling out of it. "I see you're awake. I'm sorry to have dragged you here, but I need your help." Rush got up and backed away immediately. "Wait. Relax, I'm not going to harm you. I am the time keeper," it introduced itself.
"My name's Rush."
"I know." He looked around the ball room sized to see the wooden walls completely covered in clocks and golden cogs the size of houses. The room lacked any other furniture or decor aside from a single wooden T stand in the center of it. "As I was saying, I am the time keeper. I'm in charge of overseeing the history of everything and everyone." The time keeper waved his left wing towards a wall of clocks and the clocks' hands began to spin and create a portal. On the clocks were 4 of Rush's friends. There was something wrong with them. He couldn't exactly put his hoof on it, but something about them seemed different. "Earlier today, something went wrong. When I looked into their history, they had a completely different timeline. Something in their past has changed and as a result, the path they once walked down changed. They never met some ponies ,they never did some things, and they aren't even them anymore. That's why I summoned you here. Fixing their timeline is out of my jurisdiction. You however, could repair what has been damaged."
"What can I do?"
"I can send you back in time to where the damage was and you have to make them repeat what happened in their original timeline. If you happen to fail the repair, I can turn back the clock again. Be careful though, if you fail to repair their timeline too many times, it may result in more severe changes." Without second thought, he agreed to help out the time keeper and his friends. The keeper hands him a small golden cog and ties it around your neck. "If you need any help, just look into it and call me. I can't take part in the events, but I can give you advice and turn back time." A portal opens behind Rush and he steps through it, entering Checkmate's broken past.

"Perfect..." he sighed. His nerves continue to grow uneasy as the two follow the trail. About 1/8th of a mile, Saiko took one step and immediately felt a drastic drop in the temperature. He pulled his hoof back like he had touched flames. "Aah! Celestia-!" he screamed out in shock. After shutting himself up, knowing that his scream would attract others. Within a matter of seconds, the crunching of leaves from behind them could be heard, growing louder with time.

To Dark Hoove's misfortune, it was not Akana, but only a body of wind she used as an extension, similar to a unicorn using levitation on a puppet. The body of wind captured had the apperance of a skeletal like hand that merely floated within the force field. A faint trail of air was visible due to the dropping temperature, just like when you can see your breathe in the winter. "Looks like you caught it- well i'm gone, mission accomplished!" He attempted to persuade the both of them to leave.
