Title: Talk like Zecora!
Post by: HerpyDooves on 2012 Sep 04, 10:52:55
Are you up for the challenge? Or how about you? I love the brony community, because there's always something new!

I'm not sure, as I'm not a bard. Speaking in rhymes all day may be hard.
Sometimes, I'm good at it, but sometimes I...... uh.... have.. defeat to admit.
Coming up with rhymes all day on the spot? I don't know, sir, I might not.

I'm not that kind of pony, don't want to be like a phony
My rhyming skills lack, I'll get a lot of flak
My mind will scream, I'll be haunted in my dream
My eyes will burn, my stomach shall churn
I hate needing to make rhymes, like my mother with wind chimes
So I'd rather not participate, sorry if this sounds filled with hate.

Though I'm also not looking for a fight, I still think he's right.
I will not be doing this, let's just say I'll give it a miss.

I'll take this rhyming challenge you see, but the skill to rhyme I lack it seems. I'll try to rhyme the day away but how long I can, I cannot say.

Is the challenge that you ask, to rhyme in all topics at last?

Which pony was it, who thought it quite fit
To speak in a rhyme, for this period of time?
Though it may seem fun, when all's said and done,
It might not be quite what it seems in the light.

But when I rhyme badly, it's about time.

I hear we have to rhyme.
All the this time.
Yes it's I'm bad at rhyming it's true.
So if you ask me to rhyme I'm doomed.
Even if I'm rhyming so good.

OMG! I used to have rhyming battles with my old rp buddies so this will be fuuun!!!)
I cannot wait to accept this task. All of my skills, I will not mask. Prepare to see some epic rhyming! They are all made with perfect timing! (yay!)

A rhyming challenge?  Perhaps you feel
That speaking thus is no big deal?
Then let us see just who shall stay
To see the ending go their way.

I've written poems, songs and such
Though certainly 'twas nothing much.
Perhaps a challenge would be best
For seeing who can pass the test.

Then let this be a glorious game
Of serious skill and lasting fame!
We'll rhyme our sentences with skill
And see who wins the prize we will!

(You're on! But I know I'll lose since that poem was absolutely amazing  :3 O:)
Very well then, I shall start
you will see this is my art.
From masters I have learned
and from losses I have yearned.

Rhyming is not just for ponies.
Many creatures are my cronies.
Hyenas and lions have taught me well
And to you I shall tell
how these creatures taught me so
in a time long, long ago.

The please, I beg you, tell your tale!
Succeed where other ponies fail.
If you think that your story's best,
Then put your story to the test!

Yet creatures of the jungle dark
Are often shadow more than spark.
Though all their whispers fill the air,
I find but little in their lair.

And creatures of the grassy fields?
Though spots they wear and claws they wield,
Do rhymes indeed the shadows fill
When sunset falls and all is still?
Title: Re: Talk like Zecora day!
Post by: ShadowHeart on 2012 Sep 05, 18:11:26
(Do u mind if I save your rhymes? They are so good!)

Though they seem deft and dumb
lions can be quite fun!
Make them angry more or less
and you will soon have a rhyming mess.

Hyenas are very cunning things,
their knowledge and skills spread like wings.
When one thinks all is said and done,
hyenas will rhyme after the set of the sun.

But enough of the creatures of Africa
It is time to talk of Equestria
Enchanted equines live in this place
a place where their is plenty and space.

(xD go ahead x3)

Equestria, Equestria!
Of all intelligentsia,
Her ponies proud from Canterlot,
Her riches famed by kingdoms sought!

The land of mystic unicorn,
Of pegasus in armor shorn,
Of proud and honest Earth Ponies,
With bees in fields and birds in trees!

What marvels grace its verdant hills,
As bunny hops and sparrow trills!
The valleys ring with bubbling streams
Which flow from waterfalls like dreams!

Equestria, Equestria!
The smell of a camellia
Can never rival the muffins sweet
Which flow like rain in every street!

From shining sea to shining sea,
As Lords of Madness drink their tea,
As Swedish Rainbows vast domains
Of artists fill with sweet refrains,

That land of magic, land of peace,
So great that wonders never cease,
The land of Princesses above,
And ponies kind, embraced in love!

I must commend you for that one
but of the nights you mentioned none.
The days may be sunny and great
but for the best, you must wait.

Wait until midnight, that is when
the glowing hounds emerge from their den.
With their masks of bone and skull,
they make the day look very dull.

The owls of the forest hoot away
while another place receives the day.
Majestic cats come to far and wide
to explore what most ponies try to hide.

Who is to need a silly sun
when the bright moon gets it done?
Look to the sun and it will blind
even the ones with a mind.

Look to the moon and its gaze
will comfort your eyes and amaze.
The stars aid the moon in its quest
to light ponies' ways, east or west

With a Princess of the Night,
who needs a tyrant of the light?
Princess Celestia we do fear
but Luna will make her dissapear.

It is returning through the Dark
Doctor, you have met your mark,

Your song is ending so don't cry
when you here him knock four times

your going to regenerate
some new man saunters away

no time for games, tonight we fight
for the fate of all mankind

Time is ending faster
Doctor its time to face the Master

Shadow, Night may beauty bring,
But swallows fair will only sing
In daylight fair, in sunshine warm,
Where bees the flower-fields do swarm.

And Doctor, you may Master meet,
But whether future holds defeat
Or triumph over enemies,
There's time to share one's melodies!

We here have much of which to speak!
In rhyme, perfection we may seek.
The solemn, flowing poetry
With which to render hopefully

The mighty words of leaders past,
Of hamlet small and kingdom vast,
The gentle words of mother dear,
Of ancient sage and wizened seer.

It's hard indeed to write in rhyme
And speak with flow in perfect time.
But practicing in threads like these,
Will let one rhyme with perfect ease!

The road is hard, I will admit,
But if a pony would commit
To persevering through the storm,
You'll come out with much better form!

I tried making a rhyme and I failed. I may be able to do it in Spanish with "ease", but in English? Even though I'm fluent, I'm having a hard time coming up with rhymes. Here's what i have so far:

"Magnificent rhymes, I'm loving your lines."

That took me what, three minutes to write? And then I can't come up with something to follow that up.   :l

Oh well. Great rhymes everypony.

Why are you two making rhymes
Of just two verses? In these times
Is it too hard to try to write
Four verses each, today, tonight?
Title: Re: Talk like Zecora day!
Post by: ShadowHeart on 2012 Sep 06, 16:21:54
My dear Magus, that is correct
for a good rhyme has no defects.
Four verses is the minimum
but sometimes they go on for meleniums.

For a good rhyme must stay on track,
Random lines will make you slack.
Discuss what others talk about
and you will fit in without a doubt.
Title: Re: Talk like Zecora day!
Post by: The Wandering Magus on 2012 Sep 06, 17:26:52
Good ShadowHeart, it's good to see
That you came back, and I agree.
And yet it seems that others here
Prefer to stay back in the rear.

For when it comes to rhyming games,
It's not just one pony who blames
The verses long and words complex
For headaches theirs and all that mess.
Title: Re: Talk like Zecora day!
Post by: Zygrograxgra on 2012 Sep 06, 20:25:02
It's almost post fifty
This is very quite thrifty.
This rhyme makes little sense
I feel rather dense.
Title: Re: Talk like Zecora day!
Post by: The Wandering Magus on 2012 Sep 06, 20:32:21
Don't worry, Zygrograxgra,
Though wrote you only one stanza,
You do quite well in rhyming lines!
I quite admire your designs.

On that note, let us celebrate
The fifty posts we've made to date!
Not often do such threads as this
Reach quite this point; they often miss.
Title: Re: Talk like Zecora day!
Post by: Tiger on 2012 Sep 06, 20:50:45
What is there to celebrate?
There is still no cheese to grate!
And the zombies are attacking the city,
they seem very blood thirsty.
Title: Re: Talk like Zecora day!
Post by: The Wandering Magus on 2012 Sep 06, 20:56:27
Oh come now, Tiger, lighten up;
For all too soon with cheese you'll sup!
The Lord of Madness and his tea
Might try to call you over, see?

Although a zombie mob is tough,
I think the city's safe enough.
With Celestia protecting us,
We'll fix it up with little fuss!
Title: Re: Talk like Zecora day!

((I hate zombies it seems like they are more famous than mario because THEY ARE IN ALMOST EVERY GAME.))

Even though a zombie apocalypse is pretty scary.
The situation isn't that hairy((lame rhyme I know.))
Well let us look at the bright side.
We don't have to go to jobs , or schools , and we get to stay inside!
Title: Re: Talk like Zecora day!
Post by: The Wandering Magus on 2012 Sep 07, 13:45:48
Yes that is quite a benefit,
Although the economic hit
Might be too much for some of us,
Especially those who take the bus.

And any public vehicle
Or mode of transport meaningful
Can be completely overrun
By zombies gross when all is done.

Yet still I trust in Canterlot,
In Princesses who dragons fought.
They're sure to win this dreadful fight,
They're Goddesses of Day and Night!
Title: Re: Talk like Zecora day!

Still stuck in fantasy I see.
The dictator who makes you squee.
The tyrant rules with an iron hoof
but the night she no longer controls you goof.

Through teamwork and serenity
is the only way to make Equestria free.
The two sisters must work side by side
or eachother they will no longer confide.

If it comes to the worse,
the Solar Empire will curse.
The NLR will save us all
until Celestia comes to fall.

But let us pray this does not occur,
for a broken Equestria will stir
more enemies to rise.
Until then, we're still safe, guys.

The "GoddessES" I spoke of there,
Not Goddess one, but both, the pair.
Of Day, Princess Celestia,
Of Night, your Princess Luna fair.

Think not that I have preference
For Day OR Night!  My deference
Is to BOTH Princesses on high,
I would not think to pass one by.

Wandering Magus and Shadowheart,
You seem to both be a part
Of a poem club, true?
You write wonderful rhymes, both of you.

Oh no, my friend, it's nothing great,
It's not exactly quite first-rate.
I try my best at what I do,
Not really too different from you.

Good Blues, I'm glad you're in this thread,
I'd been afraid it'd be quite dead.
But now that we can all be here,
I'm sure there will be naught to fear.

And on that note, apologies.
At time my methodologies
Can be quite harsh or sound quite rude,
So please forgive for what ensued.
Title: Re: Talk like Zecora day!

What are you talking about you weren't rude ^-^.
What we had wasn't even a feud.
It was a civilized debate with no offense intended.
However my words do seem kind of bended.

Just because two opinions differ.
Doesn't mean that the two to eachother are bitter.
Sorry that sentence may not be bright.
I switched the words places to make it rhyme right.
But now I think its about time.
To talk outside of this thread using Zebra rhymes!
Title: Re: Talk like Zecora day!

It would be fun to talk like this all day
I wonder what others would say
Although, my brain is not that fast
I doubt in real life, that I would last

Typing it out gives me time to think
Instead of making it in a blink
With my words, I would fumble
It would end in a confusing jumble
Title: Re: Talk like Zecora day!

Indeed, to type in rhyming text
Lets writers think of what comes next.
In speech the same fluidity
Might not come with rapidity.

That's not to say that I've not tried
To speak in rhyme, although my pride
Was really hurt in that attempt.
For that story I hold contempt.

To speak like this without a pause
We strive to reach her skill
And perhaps, one day we will

She may not show herself, it's true,
Too often out in public view.
But she is real and quite alive
In Everfree where few survive.

Where few survive? Incorrect.
I can survive without a scratch.
Unless I fly into that hydra in a gown
Then I'll have a trouble to take it down.

She lives in the Everfree!?
How tough, she must be
Have you ever seen her, you, yourself
Or do you rely on someone else?

Doubt I will until you show
Decisive proof to let me know
That she is not a fake
A silly tale ponies make

Although, for now, I'll wait here
That forest, it seems you fear
It looks like it will take time
To find evidence to change my mind

Enough for it to be a crime
But the laws I do not care
Her medicine did wonders to the bear

Did you with great Zecora chat
In Everfree, good Tiger friend?
What sickness did Zecora mend?

Oh my Everfree,
how I laugh at the danger of thee.
Many friends I have there
who need its tender care.

The darkness hides her
the timber wolves, her dinner.
Sunlight is her enemy
so she lives in Everfree.

Zecora mended poison joke
The bear got infected by a goat
The goat was quite mischievous
And ran off, setting off levers

The levers turned on, the lava poured down
The bear took off without a sound
He got some burns here and there,
But Zecora healed them without a care

What place exactly were this things
Taking place in? For it brings
A horror great to hear you tell
Of traps like that in forest fell.

A goat and lever, lava hot?
What was it that this strange goat sought?
And dangerous events like these
Seem odd even in those dark trees.

Zecora said, indeed they're odd,
And the bear wouldn't tell her on the spot.
They took place in a jungle temple,
Where the goat took a tinkle ((lol))

The lava was quite slow
In terms of its flow
I've never seen such like that,
I thought the bear needed a pat.

You may have convinced me
That she dwells in the Everfree
That she's a zebra black and white
Of which you shed much light

Tiger, you seem to know so much
And I wonder how that is such
Perhaps I'm the one to find
You created her in your mind

Now how should I jump in?
I hope missing rhymes is not a sin.
Homework and such has kept me busy
and kept me from rhyming my dear missy.

The forest of brutality?
Zecora may live within
but my friend lives quite a dive in.

As an adventurer I constantly stop
By Zecora's hut just to shop
The necessary potions needed for my journey
Into the centre of Everfree

There is much to find everyday,
Stacks of gold and bales of hay
More importantly, the diamonds
Tend to always be at bay

Indeed it is very weird
To find hay in a beard
Of a just-defeated monster

I suppose they treasure hay
For what reason, I may
Never know what to say
If asked by a diamond at bay

Some have a mouth but no face,
Some talk in a very fast pace.
Some don't have anything,
and that makes them rather boring.

Some diamonds were infected
With black magic of The Raided
A group that wants to fight back
After being raided a lot, a fact!

Those that are in The Raided
Have very long been angered
By other higher-skilled players

They were left with no choice
But to use black magic
They want revenge on turquoise
Ponies that beat them tragic

Magus, I am very surprised at you
Who has typed a couple lines, only two
As you said, a stanza has four
So I ask, would you add two more?
Title: Re: Talk like Zecora day!
Post by: The Wandering Magus on 2012 Sep 14, 17:12:41
Of course I would!  But in that case,
As Durpy came into the race,
I did not wish to overdo
A poem straight, a poem true.

You see, even in poem-games,
I would not wish to raise up flames.
To outdo Durpy is just rude,
So I would not myself be crude.

Instead I write in simple prose
To match the posts which here arose.
If asked I can indeed decide
To write long poems modified.

Today I wrote some rhymes at school
Some of my friends laughed, they thought I was uncool
But now I want to ask if any of you have a pet
My friend's pet is the only one I've ever met

Be it a cat or a dog
A mouse or a frog
Bees who make honey
Or a little, fluffy bunny

I've always longed to have a cat
One that wouldn't always sit on the mat
Or even a small but slithering snake
Who would be at my side as soon as I'm awake

However I can never have a dog
If I ever saw a big dog, I'd run into a log!
I don't really want a mouse
Because it'd run all over the house

I myself do have a pet,
Though she does not quite like the vet;
A Shetland Sheepdog brown and white,
She's shy and sweet and does not bite.

I once had fish and hamsters small,
But their short lifespans, short and all
Caused me to think it not quite fit
To keep such pets, in cage to sit.

Oh my days, such great rhymes!
You all must practice all the time!
But to create a brilliant stanza,
one must take heed of this bonanza,
and bathe regularily I must tell,
to avoid such a nausous, overpowering smell!
I, Domino, am fond of Zecora zebra,
but now to flee from this endeavour!
And away from ponies and their cosy homes,
where I've snacked on apples and [glow=black,2,300]chewed on bones...[/glow]

I greet you, Domino Effect,
With quiet honor and respect.
Your rhyme and rhythm have some skill,
To match your strong and daring will.

Of course, for threads in LoE,
There are still rules to heed, you see.
The mods dislike the grim and dark,
And here, their bite is worse than bark.

To that great rift of ages past!
The dialects of English true,
That tongue of many tongues a brew!

"Thread" rhymes with "head", and "yeast with "beast."

My mission has been completed!
I come here to be free
To talk in rhyming poetry
Without receiving stares
Strange faces or annoyed glares
Indeed, to rhyme in public now
Is seen as strange; they won't allow
A poet in these modern days
To use their gift to light the ways.

Yet here on forums such as this,
Us artists live in joyful bliss
And freely paint entire lands
With words as free as desert sands.

Slow and steady wins the race,

If accuracy and quality is what you desire,
just don't try to get me to be inspired.

I admit, I am not fast
Definitely not racing past
Any record of those who write
I would not put up fight

But all the time I take
To correct my poems make
Them even more loved by me
I am proud of what I see

Art in general is only good
If it's what the artist would
Have wanted to see or hear
Taste or smell, touch or feel

Take note that all of this
Is my opinion, nevertheless
Take it with a grain of salt
I do not wish an assault

It's war that I want!
A war fought with rhyming!
Quality is more powerful,
while speed has better timing!

This battle has only just begun,
my little pony friends!
But since I am in the middle,
you might never see the end!

You want to battle? That is very odd
Since you say you're leader of a squad
A squad of ponies who fight for peace
Shouldn't start the battle, they'd make it cease

My holy herd fights,
for justice and freedom,
but when I'm in battle,
I am going to redeem them!

I try not to start battles,
but when I do,
I would rather sacrifice myself,
before I'd sacrifice you.

I have a heart of gold,
and a soul of light,
but when I meet evil,
be careful, I bite!

Do not fear me,
my little pony,
but don't take me for granite,
for I am no phony.

That I will soon face
Tomorrow, tonight
In this poetic race?

First a contest, now a race?
There's no need to heighten the pace!
All we have to do is relax,
Spend some time with your Snorlax.

I've declared a rhyming war!
You better get ready, for this great big battle,
because when I'm done, there'll be only your saddle!

So many ponies fighting thus,
Making, with words and rhymes, a fuss.
Though sad, it seems there is no choice,
As ponies here have raised their voice.

I'll do my best to rhyme with ease:
Though you may do quite as you please,
My quality I'll keep intact,
And you can be quite sure of that!

There is no such thing,
as a friendly conversation,              (stairs  :3)
even on a thread of rhyming,
there will always be frustration.

You ponies asked for a war,
and a war I have gave,
but if you wish not to fight,
I guess I can behave.

I think I'll wait to see indeed
What other ponies here might need
Before I join what might become
A battle, fearful, sad and glum.

Yet as a thought before all that,
I'd like of quality to chat.
For I do notice certain things
Which might affect what this thread brings.

If I might say without offense,
(And if you're hurt I'd recompense),
For one, some rhymes you make do seem
The rules of grammar to blaspheme.

But artists write as artists do,
Whatever eldtritch lines ensue,
So I suppose the grammar part
Might simply come out from the art.

I try, no matter what the fun,
To rhyme each line with the next one.
Though I admit my rhythm might
Be rough like an erratic flight.

Does that mean you never stop and chat?
Or that everyone else is a disagreeing brat?

Ponies blinded by rhyming, while mistaking their timing.
The art of love and war, lost to those hooved of four.
Think not of difference and hate, but join together and celebrate.
As we are still all the same, so let us not be lame.
And be friends for life, forgetting all our strife.

They say that no army of men, can defeat one with a pen.
Why smite and burn the land, when we can share a helping hand.

But certainly I like it less

The Friendship-Fires joy does bring.

Now Hearts and Hooves, I think it's not
Exactly bad from what I'm taught.
A holiday of love and joy,
Though some, like you, it might annoy.

I think a celebration thus
One neither grave nor frivolous,
Is good for friendship's joy to bring,
As love in ponies' hearts does sing.

I, for the most part, think these days
Can help, not harm, good friendship's ways.
They bring out joy and gratitude
And often even settled feud.

Now this is not always the case;
But I would not myself abase
A method which in general
Brings friendship, though ephemeral.

I have to say, that's not bad at all.
Few ponies around here would have the gall
To rhyme with such phat, unabashèd temerity
To crank out those lines with such blazing celerity
To rhyme with words like "ephemeral" and "abase"
With not one misuse - such poetic grace!
Now I didn't plan to make this ode quite so long
I'd better shut up, 'fore I say something wrong.

But as to the matter at hand, let me state
Before discussions of holidays abate:

...

I really don't have much to add, truth be told
But stick with me: if I may be so bold
Let me put this in a manner abrupt:
Modern celebrations like this might seem corrupt
With commercialization abounding, you know
Hallowe'en starts in September, just ask Costco
But all of these holidays, in reality
Have meaning when simply enjoyed by family.

I'm quite glad too that this topic's alive
I thought it was dead, but now new rhymes can thrive.

Now anyway, I have to come clean:
there's something that irks me about this scene
This thread tends to be all poetic and elegant
Making mere prose seem dull and irrelevant
Yet always I struggle to keep in mind
That it's for poem-type rhymes, not the rappin' kind.
I stick to good form, but all the while
I'm thinking "man, this is cramping my style."

too close to the screen
its sending out laser beams
its hurting my eyes
so i start to cry.
i shut it down
while it steals my crown
when i walk away
it takes my breath away
i turn around so quick
its giving me a kick
i steal it up
as i see a big yup
the red figure
its getting bigger
i want it its mine
all i can do is rhyme
i send out my words
as i was flying as a bird
send me the crown
i look all around
i find a shadow with a shimmer
ohh no time for dinner
i take it so fast
to were i left the past
i am in control
i charge at it like a bull
from deep down in my soul
and hit the green glow
as i give a short blow
its done
now time to run

Opinions, though they may bring strife,
When heard can be a nation's life.
Without it, freedom would there be?
Would there not be tyranny?

Is life so dear or peace so sweet,
To warrant thoughts be bound and beat?
When peace with tyranny is bought,
Repressed are feelings, minds and thought.

Liberty to say one's will
Is necessary, not just skill.
It breeds invention, thoughts anew,
For many thoughts surpass the few.

When ponies here opinions share,
Would not the forum better fare?
The endless stream of brand-new thoughts
Would much improve our great world's lots.

Or so I think; of course you may
Have thoughts that differ in some way.
But that is why we tolerate
And love, not stifle and berate.

OMG Magus! That was so good!
I've always admired your way with the word!
I've always loved rhyming and speaking with good timing
but you're almost like a rhyming lord.

Be open-minded, Magus states.
The way we have will change our fates.
However, why can't others see
What we think or how we agree?

We conjure up ideas and such
To share them and appeal as much,
But others may want to shoot down
These same ideas and steal the crown.

Agression, oppression, tyranny too
Is caused by views that can askew
Their open-mindedness, you see.
It causes some to run and flee.

Unfortunately, they can't change their mind,
Their poor quality, or their way unkind.
Set the example for them, bronies must
To turn that idealism into dust.

We try to love and tolerate,
And not give in to fear and hate,
But even bronies can at times
Be mean both in and out of rhymes.

But we will try to do our best
To never raise above the rest
One or another, for we all
Are ponies who can also fall.

None of us are perfect, no.
Wherever each of us might go,
There will be times when we will fail,
So let us not at others wail!

Now this makes me stop and wonder
How nicely jerks might act if under
A curse that forced them to act nice
Except with rhymes, cruel and concise.  ovO

Some don't accept failure so easily,
To fail, for them, ruins thier destiny.
They condemn theselves and wallow in guilt
For they cannot take the sword by the hilt.

Perfection, what some may drive for, is naught.
Perfection is what us ponies are not.
Perfection skews the idea we're equal.
Perfection wont let some stay for the sequal.

Perhaps it's perfection that drives ponies mad
When opinions they don't agree on are had.
They stomp on ideas they think that have flaws;
Eliminate them by their cruelness and laws.

It's true that some bronies can't live to the task
Of love and compassion, so they wear a mask.
But perfection is lies, so throw off the act.
Life is not easy, and that is a true fact.

Indeed, it's sad to see that some
Would seek perfection, and be glum
If they can't reach the goal they seek.
For them, such "failure" seems quite bleak.

Yet if we all accepted that
Perfection, wily as a cat,
Cannot be gained, then maybe we
Can better live in harmony.

I am sorry to interrupt
I don't wish an abrupt
Stop to this fine debate
'Bout success and its mate

But I wish to propose
An idea, and it goes...
Do you think you'd like to fiddle
With a puzzle, a rhyming riddle?

I think it would be fun
For just about everyone
To post riddles here
As long as it does adhere
To the rules of this chat
Forum and the one that
Encourages us to compose
Poetry and prose

But it seems entertaining, quite!
Though, let us try here not to fight x3

We don't always have to be
Filled with originality
There are quite a few
traditional riddles that will do

This next one is not mine
but it is still a fine
Puzzle to try to win
It's simple... now begin!

Spoiler: Riddle • show

Spoiler: Main • show

Only one colour, but not in size
Stuck at the bottom yet easily flies
Present in sun, but not in rain
Doing no harm, feeling no pain.

Spoiler: Alternate • show

The part of the bird that is not in the sky,
Which can swim in the ocean and always stay dry.
What am I?

The solution is the same
In this puzzling game...

I've already seen this riddle, I'm afraid.
A shadow the answer, not much time delayed.
That's the risk when the riddle's been done:
The answer is given and the rest have no fun.

Let's try some where the answer is less known;
With our bright minds, we can come up on our own.

Spoiler: Riddle • show

The message of power and light I give off,
I show a warm welcome, though some might just cough.
I dance around with so much passion to share
That some will have fear with me just being there.

I've fought in wars and sat back at the house,
I can destroy much at the size of a mouse.
If under control, I can comfort your souls.
If you anger me, there are unpayable tolls.

I do not like riddles, nor do i play the fiddle
I can rhyme, but not all the time
it is a a shame, that my rhymes are lame
but i rhymed these words, so i should be heard

zecora is the best rhymer, rhymes are always said by her
none of you could rhyme as good, if you did i'd give you my food
these rhymes are hard for me to think, at least I'm not writing them in ink
rhymes are sometimes annoying, just like when my sister annoyingly sings

My rhymes good are not,
My words may not flow,

Or is it something more... Dire?

Thinking about the riddle we hear
Fire sounds right, that much is clear

My skills with rhyming is quite miss and hit
My english is good, but I can improve it

Oh, joy! My answer's correct!
There was no doubt, it was perfect!

Rhyming for me, real difficult is
Reason being, this language's... Foreign.
I may be well versed,
Yet some of my words, could be replaced.

Fear not, however!
Reading your rhymes,
Helps me improve mine!
That much is certain. :)

Julius, fellow, allow me to show
How badly my rhymes can go
For I cannot seem smart
because poems are not my kind of art
Singing however is both  ours.
So Julius, julius, do not spend hours
perfecting your poems.
For there is no poem
that can top your singing
((No rhyme at the end :P))

Trust me, I mean it!

I feel flattered for real
It seems so... Surreal?

Thank you, my friend! ^-^

Please, do not say yourselves bad!
Cheer up, my good friends, and do not stay sad.
Julius, you even rhyme better than some
Of the ponies in my English class, don't be glum!

Being able to rhyme does not mean you are smart.
Star, I mean that, so don't fall apart!
If singing is both of your trades, so be it!
You work on your talent, the ones you commit.

In fact, poetry is not my favorite skill.
I like to draw art until I may fall ill.
Become who you are surely destined to be;
Establish your goal and then set yourself free!

As for the riddle, I'll let someone else say.
If I get it right, where's the fun anyway?
I am not saying I know the solution,
I just want others to feel revolution.

And oceans rise onto the land.
The cities fear me when I come,
And all my doings, who can sum?

With mighty strength I level walls,
And armies quail before my calls,
Yet none have seen me, no not I,

Not a snake, did I say
A kraken is its prey
A leviathan, completely pelagic
A serpent, entwined with magic

But since that is not
The answer, I will allot
Others to solve the test
Because I already guessed

Resist the temptation, I cannot
I can't bring myself to allot
The ability to solve this to others, yet
One more chance, I want to get

Is it a type of fish?
Are seals are on its dish?
Although, scales it does lack
Denticles cover a shark's back

Be it a dragon, rhyming friend?
With fiery breath lives to end?
Large as a house, covered with scales,
Stronger than bulls, larger than whales?

Yes, "dragon" is the solution
And I say with absolution
julius answered correctly first
Although Magus is well versed
The prize goes to the quickest one
In this game, remember it's just for fun

Had I waited too long,
Magus would have won.
Well versed indeed,
Yet to be in a hurry, I don't need.

Just wanted to answer,
For fun and laughter!
Often I don't know the solution,
However this time, there was no confusion...

I was right all along,
Always correct
And never wrong! :]

I must confess,
I'm liking these rhymes...
It's not as hard
As I had imagined.

ncede the win to him then,
No hard feelings will I hold when
It turns out that you are quicker
At the keyboard than a nicker!

But let's see if you can solve this:
A new riddle for this thread's bliss!
Let us see just who first can say
What the answer is for the day!

Though I hold fire, I am cold.
All are in me, both scared and bold.
When I hold a pony's lover,
Even if I have no cover,

He sees me not, only his friend.
And though if taken to world's end,
I might hold all things within me,
Still I will hold nothing, you see.
All that I get, I give right back,
Who might I be, who has the knack?

I have to say, this thread's exploded
Now with rhymes and wit it's loaded.

Where these puzzles are concerned
This is the dubious truth I've learned:
Finding the answer's the easy part
Putting it in rhyme - now there's the art...

The flames I hold, but others too,
The seas and oceans, stars anew.
And anywhere that I am brought,
You'll see that the whole world I've got.

And what I'm given, I return.
Though filled with flame I do not burn.
Though I hold stars, I am not high.
Though I hold homes, the home's not nigh.

And when I hold the world in me,
Nopony knows of it, you see.
And anything that I might hold,
The thing you'll see, but I'll be cold.

For I am seen yet I am not;
And everything in me is caught.
In breezie-tales and myths I be;
Perhaps in them you'll find the key?

So close you are, my rhyming friend,
But not quite right still in the end.
Quite physical and hard I be,
And you can touch the skin of me.

Spoiler: you should know very quickly with this hint • show
I'm cold and found in many rooms,
In ancient tales, in homes and tombs.
They crafted me of glass and tin,
And mercury I held within.

And saw the many halls of Rome.

It has been a while
Since I have been here
I've been on tumblr,
Answering many questions dear

I don't know what to rhyme about,
So sit down and have some pie.
Why that long face? Don't pout,
And please don't cry

Long it has been
Since i've come to rhyme
But there is a villain unseen
In tumblrpon, doing crime

Her name is Cecilia Shell fan,
A new character I made.
She's in my tumblr storyline,
And she isn't paid.

I don't know what I am saying now
So let's just sit down with a cow
Roses are red,
Who wants some bread?

Of clever rhymes and quite a bit
Of puzzles questioning the wit.

And try my rhyming to conserve

The water is always flowing,
never ceasing, never slowing,
life for ponies, it signafies,
for life without water means true demise.

Now, don't take this very hard,
I didn't mean for my words to shard,
About water, I don't know,

The cold is coming,
Hopefully,
So Jenzy will be quite happy.

The riddle first for you to bite.
I hope it is not hard for you,
Though it may be, that much is true.

A thousand fingers touch the sky,
A thousand fingers, but no eye.
When I fall, I live no more.
My arms are table, roof and door.

What hair I have is gone in cold;
Yet when I have it I am bold.
Great strength I have, yet eat I naught.
Who might I be, the riddle sought?

Machines cut metal,                           and I they make.
Warriors see me and tremble;           many of their lives I take.
My eyes can see them in the dark,    their walls fall before my mere shout.
I relentlessly leave my mark,             sending flame and member about.
The earth itself shakes                      beneath my heavy tread;
I leave in my path                              a wake of many dead.
Though I am not living,                      I contain three hearts
Whose selves they are giving           so their friends shall not depart.
What am I?

To me, it seems the answer is a missile, a bomb
A mass destruction weapon to bring people to the tomb.
But, if so, there is something bothering me:
What would this three hearts happen to be?

Three hearts, what's this I hear?
Preventing me from finding the answer I fear...
I was to mention a blade, or perhaps something blunt,
But thinking about it... Could it be a gun?

No, no, it doesn't feel right...
This sounds far greater in might...

It seems to me that clueless am I... o.O

You seem to misinterpret my riddle;
my family found it quite simple.

You fail to read the fact
that dead are left in its tracks.
It does not annihilate itself upon its foes;
it attacks with shouts, and then on it goes.

A tank it seems, whose mighty shout
May blow a fortress wall right out,
Whose iron hooves can crush a car
And leave a blasted, cratered scar.

Three hearts of folded steel it has,
Three hearts to pump the air and gas.
With mirthless eyes that pierce the night,
Its very presence is a fright.

Right you are, my friend;
it is a tank.
Destruction is its trend,
and its discretion is quite blank.

The hearts, however, you misunderstand--
they are the crew within, not the engine band.

I see, good Bravo 539!
I thank you for your riddle-rhyme.
It was a challenge, that is true,
Yet I enjoyed a riddle new.

Now, shall I make another rhyme
Of riddles quick of wit sublime?
Or shall another use their words
To make a rhyme, as cheese from curds?

I suppose I'll give a go
To make your riddle wishes so.
Though don't expect it to be hard,
I'll try my best, in yard by yard.

Shows fear to none, and yet fears all
Towns have crumbled, cities fall.
Meant to love, but turns to hate.
What has become of their fate?
Before they realize what they've done,
Destroying others one by one
To get to what they think they need,
Consequences dire, indeed.
Is there hope for this vermin?
If so, they should look deep within.

Difficult? That can't be right!
This was not in my foresight!
If the words you say are true,
I suppose I'll give a clue.

The answer's closer than you know,
In many numbers, to and fro.
They tower high, yet miniscule,
And they are smart, yet play the fool.

It was man to whom cities fall
The cities of which man built
That crash and crumble, sway and tilt

Of which I'd like share

Answer if you dare
My sincere apologies
To any and all of you
I can't remember whom
I've shown which riddles to
Therefore, it's very plausible
That it has already been done

If so, forgive me everyone.

And many in the street would stand

With iron weights in belly vast,
And ribs like trees in forests past,
I fly on wind, not needing wings
To Canterlot with many things.

With candles light I soar up high;
With brass and pipes I scream and sigh.
I look like I belong in sea,
But I'm not there; what might I be?

Correct you are, good Julius!
An airship 'tis, for ribs a truss
Of wood and nails, and belly full
Of iron ballast, food and wool.

With only candle-heated air,
It soars the cloudless skies so fair.
And anywhere that it might go,
Through screeching pipes the steam will flow!

Its shape is that of mighty whale,
Yet formed of wood and moved by sail,
It will not go into the sea;
It soars much higher than a tree.

Now, since I have a riddle asked,
And Julius answered quite fast,
Who now will ask a question new
For us to ponder with a clue?

Are you a whale, my pony friend?
A creature strong enough to rend
The mighty waters, yet which fails
When near to shore like rotten sails?

You do not seem to be a wave,
Which grows up high like a wet cave
When near the shore before it falls
And crashes down like fortress walls.

You do not seem to be the storm,
Which howls fiercely in its form
On land and sea and heeding not
The rocks and waves below that fought.

You are correct, my pony friend!
A cave it is, with twist and bend
And hollow heart of blackest night,
Yet does not quite inspire fright.

From Earth it's hewed by waves of Seas,
With stony columns tall as trees.
It has no torch to light its floor,
And has no sturdy golden door.

Yet curtains clear of dripping stone
Still wave in recess pale as bone.
And kings its empty belly seek
For gems like stars above a peak.

From far away our power comes,
We constantly beat on earth drums.
Starting mighty, then fade to dust,
We leave the Earth our treasure's rust.
There are people that don't fear us,
They can't be conquered, we're jealous.
But if there's fear in other's hearts,
We swallow whole their fautly smarts.

I have returned, my pony friends!
My rest and my deep sorrow ends!
With my strength restored and mind revived,
I've brought a riddle as I arrived.

From far away our power comes,
We constantly beat on earth drums.
Starting mighty, then fade to dust,
We leave the Earth our treasure's rust.
There are people that don't fear us,
They can't be conquered, we're jealous.
But if there's fear in other's hearts,
We swallow whole their fautly smarts.
How great it is to see you, Chack!
I honestly say, Welcome Back!
A grace it is that sorrow's passed;
Let's now hold on to friendships fast!

Let's see about this riddle here,
And if we might the question clear!
I'm glad you've taken up the task;
I'll try to answer what you ask!

From far away?  They fade to dust?
They swallow fear, but treasure rust?
Might it be comet, meteor,
A mass of stone from long before?

A stone that beats upon the earth
Like sticks on drums, and with it birth
The metals we here use today?
I wonder, might you tell and say?

Oh PPBG, you inspire me,
I must be like a tree,
Never wavering, always growing,
Even when cold winds are blowing.

Of course, I must stay and try,
Tears are a no, there's no need to cry
Over these rhymes, I find if I seek
Better words, than I have better speak.
Indeed, your skills are growing well!
And where they'll take you, who can tell?
I'm sure you'll ever higher rise,
Till even you your skills surprise!

Keep pushing on with forward stride,
And never waver; walk with pride!
Every slip is not a loss,
But chance to learn and show who's boss!

Perhaps you might a riddle ask?
Good practice 'tis, no need for mask!
We'll all be friendly here indeed,
And there's no rush or need for speed.

Need for speed was an awesome game,
But sadly it's not the same.
But back on topic, as I should say,
What made you come back to this thread today?

I guess, you came back because of PPBG,
You're proud of him, as I can see.
But neither of your rhymes can compare to mine,
As I rhyme within time.

Time, I see, is what you ponies lack,
Grabbing your books and grabbing your pack,
To a wonderful day, full of learning wonders?
Or do you work, where cave lurkers ponder?

Man, I haven't visited this thread in awhile,
The rhymes on here really pile.
But, I'm back, hold your applause,
Because I brought some delicious applesauce. :3

When I said from far away,
I mean much closer than you say.
It's not comet or meteor.
A clue is needed to be sure.

We do not treasure rust, you see.
But treasure rusts, so we leave it be.
We come many sizes, as well,
From tiny to as large as hell.

Born on this planet, powered from space.
At blinding speeds, we always race.
We're one of those things, without a doubt,
That Earth simply can't do without.

A plant perhaps?  But that can't be...
For you move fast; you're not a tree...
Electron?  Nay, for though you're fast,
Your strength and breadth sounds mighty vast.

An ocean, powered by the Moon,
Which swallows smaller islands soon,
And once held iron oxide dust
Which settled to become our rust,

And beats forever on the land,
And pounds the mountains into sand,
With strength enough to topple kings,
Yet shrinks to ripples, water-rings,

Which gives us rain to water fields,
That wheat and grain in harvest yields,
And swallows giant cities whole,
Yet sailors fear not for their soul?

An ocean?  Tide?  A wave on shore?
A great tsunami, with its roar?
Do any of my answers lack?
Or am I on the correct track?

Wave is surely correct, in fact!
The moon is what keeps waves intact,
They gobble up our guilty pride
And leaves it's treasures on land's side.

Goodness, it has been a while.
Coming back has made me smile!
For it's hard work, preparing, you see,
To go to a university.

Oh my, this thread lacks a post!
A riddle is what's needed most!
For me to tell and you to solve
I hope this will help evolve.

You need me if you work too hard
And long; your energy is charred!
There comes a time, I stress to say,
For there is work and there is play.
Want me during a grueling task.
Drink water, at least a flask.
Don't dwell too long through it, you see.
For there is work, then there is me.

So let us hope that it will thrive!

And needing not a rapping war,
I think it's REST we're looking for!
Since there is work, and then there's play,
But REST we'll need in any way.

For after long and arduous tasks,
We'll look to water in our flasks,
And drink then, RESTING under shade
So that our strength here will not fade!

But certainly we must not dwell
Upon our REST, for though it's well
To lay aside our tasks at times,
We'll need to work to earn our dimes.

It's not so bad, no, not to me.
Yes, English is hard to learn,
But do not fret, it's no bad turn!

It's hard performing such a feat.

But now I ask of each of you,
Shall we another riddle true

Should you or I then have a go?

A thread dedicated to talking in rhyme?
It's been ages since my last attempt so i suppose it is time.
Prepare my fellow tongue, for you are about to be tested.
For you are the master of words and will not be bested.
I call upon the words from my knowledge to for fill my wish.
Summon a response that will serve my doubts on a silver dish.
Let it show those that they can do the same if they desire.
Break down their own barriers of doubt and light this thread on fire!

My good friend Tiger, what a joy
To see you once again employ
The skills of rhyme and poetry
To speak with happy joy and glee!

Berserker Brony, it is quite
An honor that you'd show your might!
A question, though, I have for you.
Would you please craft a riddle true?

Or would you like for me to make
A riddle fair for you to take?
For none here seem to wish right now
To craft a rhyme to which we'd bow!

I appreciate the compliment my fellow rhymer.
It would b my pleasure to play the part of the Riddler.
Would it be a simple riddle that would be fun for any filly?
Or a puzzle that taunts your inner philosophy?
For this time I will make the choice for you to sample.
I hope I can satisfy you with with this fine example.

What can be given but never sold?
Can be possessed by both young and old.
The power to overcome any obstacle in thy way.
To provide warmth even on the coldest day.
A guide for the lost to follow if they ever lose sight.
It can be yours if you can overcome your hindering fright.

A riddle hard which searches deep,
At that I'd surely quickly leap!
Although I know not if the rest
Might like it much when in the test!

But leaving that to later on,
I think that to the riddle yon
The answer must be Hope, my friend,
Or Courage, which all wounds can mend!

From friend to friend it may be lent,
But never packaged, sold and sent.
Both old and young may feel its strength;
It ever runs to endless length.

In times of cold, it warms our souls,
In times of fear, it shows our goals
To us so that we once more stand.
When lost, it lends a helping hand.

Very clever, your mind is sharp with wit.
Perhaps I should ponder on a riddle of better fit.
The true answer was hope, just to make it clear.
Though I'm sure you understand regardless, so hold no fear.
Prepare yourself for the next puzzle of my creation.
I have confidence that you will triumph when answering this question.

It is misunderstood and responded with fear,
Is usually responsible for what we hold dear.
For without would lead us to suffer, same if allowed too much.
Our joy and happiness is born when applied with a touch.
While it is the cause of pain and remorse, that is true,
How ever you see it as, good or bad, is up to you.

And here I'm back to this thread, trying to make rhyme
But I thought I should, at least, try one more time.
I know I can't compare to some people here
But to get better, I must have no fear.

BerserkerBrony, your skills are very good
And to answer I had to think with what I have under my hood
For "love" is the answer, I guess
A confusing feeling, we all must confess.

If you have it toward the right things
It's unimaginable the happiness it brings
But if you make a single mistake, and the wrong thing to love you take
The pain you feel might even cause you to break.

Good to see you return to this lovely thread.
For this activity is great exercise for one's head.
However your answer is not correct, but very close.
Love may bring pain and joy but is not feared by most.
It is highly sought after, often more than gold.
However the answer I seek can leave one's heart cold.

Title: Re: Talk like Zecora!

I'll say death causes pain and remorse.
It's also feared by most, of course.
Too much of it, we grow sore,
But not enough, we suffer more.

Is death what's feared, even by bold?
Which causes pain and leaves us cold?
A necessity misunderstood?
And up to us if bad or good?
Title: Re: Talk like Zecora!
Post by: BerserkerBrony on 2013 Jul 20, 12:48:02
It would be correct, if for not one detail.
For death is not a realm for happiness to prevail.
Death takes without consent, shows no mercy.
For the word I'm thinking holds much more controversy.
It can be the cause of one's end, also a start of something new.
For this answer follows no rules as it continues to affect you.

Difficult this riddle is!
I always love a challenging quiz.
And that's not all, you write quite well!
I'm sure you have good stories to tell.

I think I know the answer now.
Is it change, for it is how
It begins new, ends the old,
Always goes as our lives unfold?

Some fear change, because it takes;
It comes so quick and leaves heart aches.
Others welcome and seek these thrills,
They love to try new tasks and skills.
Title: Re: Talk like Zecora!

You are very close, so very near.
Though the answer still eludes you I fear.
For change is the aftermath of its presence.
Though it is often viewed to have an evil essence.
There is no doubt that with one last guess,
that you will discover the right answer with no digress.

Money, I'd say, or Power here,
Or even Life which some may fear.
Each one is sometimes called an ill,
For those who want it want more still.

The want for money brings forth pain,
And excess brings ponies no gain.
And yet does money bring forth joy?
Perhaps, if used for gift or toy.

Power, too, can hurt us all,
For pride doth come before the fall,
But if used wisely brings forth good,
Although it is misunderstood.

Life, of course, has both these things,
And often suffering it brings,
But life will often comfort give,
For who has joy but those who live?

Hunger is it, my good Chack?
A pony, if he food does lack,
Will quickly lose his body's strength,
And cannot walk for a good length.

Three times a day does hunger call,
It strikes the core and lingers on.
And though we think ourselves as free,
It owns our flank, oh yes siree.

From air to earth I come with roar,
And where I go, they close the door!
They shut the windows, close the shade,
And hide within the homes they've made.

When come I here to city vast,
They flee the streets with movement fast!
But when I come to farmer's home,
He welcomes me with glad shalom.

Flee the city folk from this,
But welcomed by a farmer's kiss?
For city folk, it is their bane,
But farmers, they will thank the rain!

From sky to ground the rain shall pass,
It comes to grow the plants and grass.
A farmer loves this benifit!
But others, they don't want to get!

Correct you are, my dear friend Chack!
It seems good wit you do not lack!
Indeed, 'tis RAIN that's on my mind,
And riddle's answer you did find!

From air to earth it comes with roar,
And where it goes they close the door!
It floods the streets, but wets the earth,
And by its moisture plants give birth.

Now that that's done, who now shall speak
A riddle interest for to pique?
I look quite forward to a game,
Of rhyming wit and more the same!

Although all this rhyming may be slow,
It's worth it for a good ol' show!
Of all the skills we do possess,
Instead of having a pointless stress,
Over how we are portrayed.
In the thread we all are saved :3

Take your time!
There is no rush,
This is a topic,
That cannot be pushed.

My first rhyme was crappy,
But no need to get sappy,
I truly missed this thread,
Now let the rhymes start, before I go to bed!

I have an idea,
Let's create a story!
A story of rhymes,
Just make sure it's not boring.

I'll start it off!

Once upon a time,
In the land of Equestria,
Lived a small Alicorn,
Who's name was... Sophia.

Sophia had a sis. Her name was Denise.

Denise bought a dog for her sister to go with through the fog.

She wandered with her new friend, knowing it would follow her to the end.
(ok gotta go to sleep now)

Indeed, it's always quite all right
To try your hoof at riddles bright,
And speaking quickly here in rhyme
While always keeping to the time.

Yet as I've said, I still await
A riddle which my mind might sate,
For I do long for puzzle best
So that our wits here we might test!

Something could improve this place,
But giving up is not the case.
Ramisha, you will learn in time,
How to riddle, write and rhyme.
When I came here I did fail,
Rhyming can be a pain in the tail.

I'm real bad with rhymes and dimes.
I lose both of them while thinking of the past times!
English is not my native language,
and while I learn to rhyme in it I will be 50 years of age.
I'm more of a painter, not a writer!
...and if ponies annoy me I'm a biter.

how Ponys can rhyme here without any end...

Aye, the rhyme is a challenging thing;
They ain't dime-a-dozen; truly fit for a king!
If in steadfast thought you work,
Ev'rypony you'll blast with your new-found quirk!

It is one thing with words to rhyme,
But harder still to rhyme in time!
To keep a rhythm in your line,
It's no small feat, dear friends of mine.
Title: Re: Talk like Zecora!
Post by: Renatan on 2013 Nov 24, 17:44:23
To rhyme well is not a thing of mine
for time after time, I will miss a line
I do my best to speak the words
but they always end up quite absurd
I want to get better
So maybe I shall send a letter
To Zecora the zebra for help
So I won't sound like such a whelp!

(.... I'm sorry you had to sit through that  lol )

It's very nice, good Renatan,
That use such rhymes in time you can!
With practice I think that you might
Create a rhyme to bring much light!

Each one of us a talent has,
Though we might not see it pass.
All we need do is practice more,
We'll surely then even the score!

your rhymes are great at most
now its your turn to post

Rhyming is hard like a bucket full of lard.
My eyes are gazing at how you're utterly amazing.
I don't know what else to say,
so I'll put my rhymes away to lay.

It is not so altogether
That hard, now, to hold a feather
To even great Zecora wise,
With witty rhymes of massive size.

For really, all it takes is just
A little practice, faith and trust!
A trust in your ability
To rhyme and riddle fast and free!

But I digress, my pony friends,
Within this rhyme that never ends;
Who now shall tell a riddle great,
Our thirsty wits here for to sate?

As time passes by, I grow shorter.
My hair is a vibrant orange hue.

Good Ramisha, a CANDLE 'tis,

It shortens as the day draws on,
And burns with orange flame anon.

Well well well, what is this?
The revival of this post that I have miss?
Oh what fun and joy we could have tickling our tongues,
Whats this? The answer for my old riddle has yet to be sprung?
No matter, I give praise to those who tried their best,
With out further ado, I will reveal the answer for this test.
For it was Chaos that I sought,
The force behind change of lot,
For with out it, much of the world would be the same,
Nothing new or unpredictable would quickly grow lame.
Though chaos isn't always nice, for it takes no side.
Being behind events of terror and dread in great stride.

Now for those interested, I will offer more riddles,
Or conjure up one for my mind to fiddle.
Come one, come all to join our fun.
For this thread is no where near of being done.

My my, it's been a while
Since I've ever posted here.
Since I've (kind of) left long ago,
me posting here again is queer.

Why do I post here, you ask?
Maybe, well, I missed this place.
But things have been rather empty here.
Many left without a trace.

It's saddening to see
The community I spent with so much time
Become a thing of the past
Much like a rotting lime.

Sure, some stay.
But most wither away.
Probably like me,
who moved to a place far away.

But a small visit like this
Doesn't hurt a person or fly.
It's nice to have memories come back
But with them all past, I sigh.

BerserkerBrony, welcome back!
And Tiger too, t'is true, alack!
Too many friends have gone away,
And left these threads to go astray.

But here together we may stand
And hold together like dry land
In midst of storm!  With riddles great
And rhymes our wits here for to sate!

Now, friends, I beg thee, tell a rhyme,
A riddle great to pass the time!
T'was riddle hard which you did speak;
Unbroken even with a peek.

But riddle hard is always fun
For each of us to test, make done.
Let's riddle here in rhyming line,
And make a riddle great and fine!
Title: Re: Talk like Zecora!
Post by: BerserkerBrony on 2013 Nov 26, 18:26:48
Very well then, I shall cast forth the first stone.
Not as hard as my last riddle so no need to groan.

My status is legend, since the very start
Being known for having a savage heart.
I was made to be the best, stronger than any foe,
Despite my power, my place in the world has yet to show.
I am a treasure to many, as if it were some sort of game.
But only the master has the power to capture me and tame.
Title: Re: Talk like Zecora!
Post by: Tiger on 2013 Nov 26, 20:22:10
I find it hard to rhyme constantly
without a topic, would you agree?
So perhaps, somepony choose a topic
And we rhyme on it, a rhyming spree.
Title: Re: Talk like Zecora!
Post by: BerserkerBrony on 2013 Nov 26, 22:02:40
Rhyming with a topic? I do not quite understand
Do we set a topic then converse with rhyming at hand?
Through my mind it sounds like mere conversation,
Though I guess it could be practice of one's presentation,
Very well then, I shall conform and play this game,
Though a chosen topic would we need to name.
Unless there is a criteria of which to choose from,
I shall choose from my head, hopefully it won't be dumb.

Since this is a mlp community, one of I'm quite fond,
Lets discuss our thoughts that season 4 has spawned.
Having Zecora returning in the premiere i find it fitting.
Positive feelings towards this season I have no problem admitting.

I would glady talk about that topic,
Unfortunately, I have yet to watch it.
All I know is Discord's in it,
Knitting up something exotic.

I'll watch it later.
Together with my sister.
She'll come home at 4, say,
and we'll watch it today.

Alone, I may be.
Pathways covered in darkness, indeed.

I am nothing but a being.
Some being...some where.
No-one knows me, No one remembers me.
No one knows my old self: bare.

Final 0-1. The best of the best
Thunder Arrowhead Jet.

He's a forgotten memory of what this once was.
A land beyond reach it was.

August 17th 2011 believed.

The time to join this forum, yip-pee!

No power, no corruption. Time was swell.
Bunch of friends, bunch of things. It was going well.

Then came somepony which few know of today.
Raindrop, I believe, is the one who was at bay.

Equestria Online was no more.
And I was hopeless...

...but before that came fun I couldn't imagine.

The first RP involved a mod with his hammer
and very few, one, can I remember so far back.
I could only remember so much. It was worth it.
Ninja'ing her...if she does recall it...it aches.

Remembering so little of some of my greatest memories.
From Lyra's transformation to Lary, and the much more.
Oh, I miss him; he was fun...
...but time has come, and how pitiful it was. I was bored.

There isn't the spark that there was yesterday.
The game didn't seem so fun to play
Yet I stay.
Yet I pray.

And I hope today that something will happen
And I hope today that the best shall happen.

Those who hold your ground, stay. Those who leave the bunkers, leave.

This community has brought the best of me.
And how it changed; it's a shame to see.

Yet those who stay I'm proud of you.
The community won't be the same without the you few.

And I say...

...Thanks for everything.

-Somebeing

Never alone, Somebeing, friend,
And may our friendship never end!
Wherever you might walk in time,
We'll always be here, riddling rhyme!

BeserkerBrony, I must say,
T'is riddle hard you bring our way!
Perhaps it might be power great,
The Power Nuclear, first-rate.

Its heart is filled with fiery rage,
And since its birth, both foal and sage
Have feared its power, might and strength,
And written poetry at length.

But what's its place?  Nopony knows,
Not even as its power grows.
The nations hoard it like it's gold,
Although their weapons now grow old.

And only masters it can tame,
For lesser colts are not the same.
Their plants explode, or melt to ash,
As nobles great each other bash.

To be the strongest it was made,
As soon as missile first was laid.
But now we stand here deep in thought:
Can peace with endless war be bought?

((Alright, I'm going  to try and make a rhyme based off my OC Dark Grave. Bear with me here!  :P ))

Ponies frolic and play
while some sleep the day away
But one mare is different, you see
For she is not one to express joy or glee
A pegasus of white and green
with a heart that could be called mean
A dwelling soul hidden away
She turns young ponies into her prey

Other's flesh and bone;
She calls them her own
Taking away what they were given
She makes it her own way of livin'
And while it is a cruel thing to do
She will continue with her job until it is through
She turns these sources into something new
A dark spell to cast
Her memory will forever last

She does not stand alone
this mare of the forest
Alongside her stands a filly, one that was the poorest
Until she met a mare
Who gave most a scare
She took her to stay
Deep, hidden away
Into the Everfree.

((And then I couldn't get "leave be" to rhyme well with "Everfree" so I gave up lol ))

Well wel, looks like some people are having fun,
Hopefully none of you have wrote enough to be done.
For you all have done very well, admirably I admit,
Hopefully I'll read more and enjoy such wit.

Magus my chum, i see you have been thinking hard,
but you can't solve everything with nukes like some exodia card,
Perhaps I should give out a hint, would it be too soon?
Maybe we should wait for others to answer, hopefully before a blue moon.

The mystery of peace, I have solved!
There are little things involved.

One is wisdom, one is knowledge.
The last is working 'till you drop off the edge.

I think that's what peace is.
Now I can go away at ease!
