Bygone let the new cane fall to the floor, now uncaring of the purpose it would have served in his plans.
None of those plans meant a thing now.
He moved quickly to Umbral, hesitantly taking him into a hug.
"Can ye forgive me, boy?  I know it'll take time, but..."

Umbral put his own hooves around Bygone, and responded.
"That can come later, uncle.  Just...Let me stay with you now..."
They stayed like that for a long moment, years of separation coming to an end.

Sweet and Sottises exchanged teary smiles, both happy that Umbral and Bygone could be reunited.

"hey what's up" maple asked sorta stumbling up the stairs but stopping Apon seeing the situation

Umbral opened his eyes in surprise, and glanced behind him.
"Very important things, actually."  He cleared his throat, and blinked away some of the moisture in his eyes.

"sorry did something bad happen?" maple asked a little worried and dizzy

[Somebeing]

"I can see that," A pony cheered at the situation, waving his hoof back and forth from the beach. "but I believe nothing but pure good is happening."

[Checkmate]

Check walked back inside, hiding the crystal quickly.

"Yes, all good things." Sottises agreed.

"It just got a bit emotional, that's all." Sweet added.

[DawnsEmbrace]

Umbral nodded his head, laughing softly.
"Y-yes, it's something very good."
He looked back to Bygone.  "We have some things to talk about.  Let's go."
Umbral began to trot away.

Bygone looked at Sweet and Sottises up on the porch, and went to them for a moment.
He hugged each of them in turn, and spoke.  "Thank ye, both of ye.  If ye hadn't tried..."
Bygone shook his head to clear his thoughts.  "Thank ye."  He looked to both of them before leaving, wondering if they had anything left to say.

[Rush of MLP]

Spook raised an eyebrow at the sudden appearances of all of the ponies on the beach.

Rush sat quietly in the snow.

"You're welcome, my friend. Come back and visit us anytime,
and Umbral can come too. Safe travels, Bygone." Sweet said with a smile.

"Yes, we will have many things to discuss when you return.
Goodbye for now, Father." Sottises added with a chuckle.

"man I head hurts so much" maple sighed sitting down on a porch step

Bygone nodded, and smiled.  He trotted away from the two, and down the porch to Maple.
He teleported a small bottle into his hoof, and gave it to him.
"It's for the pain.  It should ease up a while after ye drink it."
With that, he galloped after Umbral, who was looking back from up ahead.

He could still be seen in the distance for a while, trotting next to his nephew.

"Well I've overstayed my welcome for quite some time," Nameless said as he turned around, viewing the vastness of the ocean infront of him. "There is a whole new world out there." He jumped into the water and began to swim towards the horizon. "Time to explore..."

"thanks"maple said toasting to the two as they galloped off. As he drank it which was hard due to its very interesting taste of chalk the pain began to ease away

"Oh oh! We should go on a quest to find them!" Naura clapped her hooves together and looked at Blue with a smile filled of joy and excitment.

The little blue filly sat down. "Aren't we supposed to stay put until the big ponies come back for us?"
