I wonder what they would do if they made a G5 pony series, it would be cool to see past characters or even if the series focused on an older CMC. Of course if they could make good ponies and a good plot like they did in FiM I'm sure it would be pretty cool as well.

I think what Ahaut means is that G4 should never end. G5 could mean leaving behind the mane 6 of G4, or a lot of things changing, since a new generation would be different from G4 for it to count as G5.
Therefore, what Ahaut was really saying was "I don't want to say goodbye to G4! I'd miss it! So, no G5, please."

Unless they do a really good job with G5 (if they ever make it) and the brony community likes it, then I'm cool with it. But the most likely case is if they take over G4 then Hasbro will have basically shot themselves. That's what I was saying :P

When something wins, you don't need to change it. With such a G4, who needs a G5? I'd rather like to see spin-off series, for example one featuring the ponies mentioned above (lyra,vinyl,etc.) as mane characters, but a whole new generation would mean:
1) no G4 characters involved (and that would be BAD)
2) probably new design (and I don't see how could someone come up with a better design than Lauren Faust's)
3) NO PROFIT! DD:
maybe they don't need a G4? Just S4, S5, etc?

To be honest a G5 might ruin the whole aspect of MLP being awesome. It might not be what we excpect. Also I think it would be incredibly dangerous for Hasbro to include Derpy. (I don't hate her though) :]

Derpy is not likely to stay for a g5, if there is one.. It'll probably be a whole new set of characters.... or a completely different setup of the already existing characters, as it has been for g1-4 (i.e. similar characters that are tweaked or different characters as the 'mane six' )

I'm not sure how long the generations last, or how they make the newer toys, but I highly doubt they would keep the same style or a majority of the cast and storyline the same, such as a "Mane 6" or the princesses, or make background ponies more main characters. I'm pretty sure their major focus has been their toy brand, not the show. Although now that the major focus is the show, I'm clueless as to what they'll do for G5 and when they'll do it.

The ol' 90s movies were a lot better than what we've got going on now. But I have to admit, Gravity Falls is actually a pretty good cartoon. I wasn't sure about it at first, but I like it now.

Except for 3.5 all the gens were decent in the least. Yes, I am talking about 2 and 3 because I loved them as a kid and that was their goal.
To this day i still feel as if Generation 3.5 needed an exorcist. ovO

The drawing style and music are extremely powerful factors, I think. If you took the dialogue for G1S1, and put it to modern music + modern animation, it would have been quite similar to G4, I think.
