We head for Zebracai Strokes called from his position a good ways away from the group.

We'll treck through these forested lands and make way to that great desert of sand.

Teal Turken

Dessert? I've been to a dessert before. It wasn't....okay maybe it wasn't that great but we did meet a new civilization! Has anypony been to Zebracai before?

Trilight Dashie

[shadow=black, left]*Those ponies really have some kind of a point in their lives. Well, at least Strokes and Fancy do.*[/shadow]
Silent Leaf began following Strokes along with the group. While going further away from the tribe, she turned her head to notice her hunter mate. She gave him a look that only that two could understand.
[shadow=black, left]*Keep an eye on all of them. I'll be back once day.*[/shadow]
Hunter replied with a wave and a look saying *Understood, leader!*, and of course - a wide smile.

Why do chemists call helium, curium, and barium 'the medical elements'? Because, if you can't 'helium' or 'curium', you 'BARIUM'! Heheh."

"I visited the deserts near Appleloosa once, but it was mostly rocks and hard dried mud," answered Fancy.  "Is Zebraci anything like that?" he asked, trying to get closer to Strokes for ease of conversation.

A little but on a much greater scale. A few plants grow here and there but mainly around the few oasis that the tribal leaders hold with almost sacred and zealous fervor. Water is sacred in Zebracai, it is the life-blood of the tribe and without their oasis the whole tribe would likely die out.

Strokes nodded thoughtfully.

I've been to Zebracai before, even made a few friends. We'll be stopping off in an industrilized and modernized town before heading into the deep desert, though. I'll warn you about their . . . rules when we get a-little closer to our destination.

Strokes nodded at fancy.

This next stop will certainly be something to see.

Teal Turken

What do you mean by that? Where are we stopping at? o.O

((Doesn't Fancy and Strokes have a carriage(s) to ride in?))

"Their rules?" inquired Fancy, puzzled by the dark edge Strokes had put to the word.  "What could possibly be so different about their rules from ours?"

((So a quick recap of what's going on.
The fancy troop is now walking through the wilds heading for Zebracia lands. That's it really. Lato let me know when you wanna inset our OCs!))

Trilight Dashie

((Let's get jiggy with it))

[shadow=black, left]"I guess all we have to do is keep ourselves out of any mess. Otherwise, will have to deal with them - no more to say, no less."[/shadow]
*But I'm not sure if it's unavoidable. Actually, THIS is what this journey is about, right? To cause some mess.... heh...*

Teal Turken

Yeah, I guess. Do they have like a billboard with all the laws on it?

[shadow=black,left]"Huh?"[/shadow]
Purple mare looked confused.
[shadow=black, left]"Billboard, you say? Explain please, if you may."[/shadow]

Trilight Dashie

[shadow=black,left]"Oh, that explains everything... :l"[/shadow]
Huntress looked upon the sky.
*It sure is sunny... and hot... Are we close to the desert? In wilds it's usual cool.*

Chirp

"No, not really."
((Umm, can we continue?  >.< )

The Wandering Magus

It began slowly, with a few sandy patches here, some dead grass there.  In time, however, the group began noticing the heat to a great extent.  It was fortunate indeed that they had so much water with them, for quite soon they were feeling the arid, scorching winds from the south blowing towards them, and before they knew what was happening, they found themselves in the midst of a vast, dry land with nary a green leaf.  The road they walked upon, fortunately, had Equestrian milestones on it, from ancient times when Equestria stretched from one end of the Continent all the way to the white mountains of the East.  Now, spaced between milestones they could see glyph-covered rocks and talismans.  They were beginning to enter Zebraci.

Teal Turken

((Hurray! It's back! :D))

Teal squints his eyes looking around, the sun reflecting it's white light off the sand is blinding and makes it difficult to see.
This reminds me of a exhibition I went on for the princess. Only this time were just traveling.
Teal takes a small hood out of his bag and puts it over his head, it partially covers his back.
Much better, I don't need to squint so much. ^-^

The Wandering Magus

Smells came before sound, and sound before sight.  Unfortunately, it wasn't exactly the amazing aromas the stories told of.

Refuse it was.  As they crested the last dunes, they saw what looked like a sea of shacks and shanties, and beyond, ancient sandstone walls.  Within the walls there seemed to be decent houses, but here on the outskirts... such decency was unknown.

Here, zebra foals played in dust.  There, a mother drew green, slimy water from a nearly dry well.  There were flies all over the place, and gnats.  All the while, there looked to be caravans going back and forth along the main road, and they were not driven by zebras, but ponies.

Yes, ponies, Equestrian ponies.  Wealthy ones, from the looks of it.  A sign on the side of the road said something in a beautiful calligraphic language, but below was stamped, rudely clear, "Goldhoof's Town".

Teal looks shocked at the scene of the Zebra village.
Wha...how could this happen? These poor zebras! They live in this?! :(
