Virulent was born and raised in Manehatten with her parents. Her father was a big business owner and her mother was a lawyer. Living in a big mansion with many servants and maids, she was seen as a "spoiled daddy's girl" by many fillies and colts. But to some of the higher class families she was seen as a jewel. She was constantly around big business owners and high class ponies; her father thought having his daughter around would boost sales.  At first she thought this was exciting and loved all the attention, but after a while she became bored of the life style. Not wanting to go to her father's work she would spend most of her time in their massive garden. The maids would allow her to water the flowers and pick the weeds. Noticing her interest in flowers, her homeschool teacher would bring her books about flowers and the language of flowers, explaining how a certain flower can express ones feeling when given to another. After months of taking care of the garden she got her cutie mark while watering a Lily of the Valley. At first, her father was disappointed but her mother stated that Virulent could go into the flower business if she wanted too. Determined that she would, he brought her to his next business trip to Trottingham. During the trip he explained how the business world works, introducing her to many of his friends, showing her flower shops and explaining what makes a business a success. After the trip Virulent decided that she would open a flower shop when she was older.  Her father built her a flower shop in Manehatten when she was 12, he owned it but she ran the store. When she had turned 15 she decided it was time for her to become an independent mare and move out. She first settled in Baltimare where she opened a flower shop, but after a year she wanted a change of scenery. She continued this patterned of opening a shop then moving again, now she is currently the owner of a total of 7 successful flower shops.

Virulent is what is known as a Lavinia, which means she can only use spells that were written in Lavinia's Book. Her first ancestors were powerful unicorns during their time. They recorded all their spells in a book, hoping they would be used to help ponies. But when one of them was caught using black magic, the others trap her within the pages of the book. Naming the book after her, Lavinia's Book. Angered by the others, Lavinia cast a curse on them. This cursed bond the others to the book, only able to use spells that are written within the pages. This curse was passed down to generation to generation, over time each pony that was born as a Lavinia would spend their time adding spells to the blank pages left for them. Virulent's family realized she was a Lavinia when she wasn't able to cast a common levitation spell.

Shear Luck's special talent is the ability to alter and change memories of ponies. But she can only altar and change memories of events that she witnesses herself. The pony would have to give her permission to alter or change any other memories that she wasn't personally there to witness.  This talent comes in handy when costumers come to her barber shop, they can simply imagine the mane style the costumer would like and Shear Luck can alter and change it the way the costumer would like it.

In Salt Lick City, born and raise. Living with five other siblings and her parents, a family full of barbers and hair stylist. Everyone in the family seemed to be destined to work with manes and a pair of scissors. Shear Luck didn't mind that her fate was already set for her, happy that everyone in her family had one thing that they could all love and do together. When she was a filly she would watch her Uncle and Father working together in their barber shop.  After watching her father, she would practice cutting manes on her dolls and stuff animals. The whole Golden Lock family adored Shear Luck's enthusiasm and once she was 15 they allowed her to work in her Uncle's Barber shop.  Still had not earned her cutie mark, she happily took the job, hoping it will help her find her special talent. But, she didn't realize how hard it would be to cut a mane on a real pony. Costumers would get upset if she cut it too short or didn't cut it how they imagine it. Upset by the reactions of the costumers, she decided that she would have to figure away for her and the costumers to meet eye to eye.  After a few more failed costumers, she came up with a brilliant idea. Sense the costumers can't show her how they would wasn't their mane, Shear Luck would have to show the costumers their mane. Using a spell that she been practicing for a while she was able to show the costumers mentally how the mane would turn out, altering and changing how the costumer would like it. After her first successful mane cut, she instantly became a hit and earned her cutie mark.  Her uncle then decided that she was capable of owning her own barber shop in Salt Lick City. The barber shop wasn't too far from his, so he could keep a close on her.  She enjoyed every moment of her job, loving the reactions of a successful mane cut.

Predestine birth name was Chrysant and she was born and raised in Hollow Shadow. Her mother, a unicorn, and father, a earth pony, both were farmers. As her parents were busy with work, Chrysant would play in the woods with her Scops Owl name Feather. She didn't have many friends since most of the kids thought her parents were weird. One day while chasing Feather, she found a little shack. That's where she met her first friend, an old deer name Espíritu. The old deer was a witch doctor and would make potions and herbs to cure witchcraft. Espríritu had a son name Foliage who soon became Chrystant first friend. At first, Chrystant was kicked off the property but Espíritu warmed up to the filly. Chrystant would spend most of her free time at Espíritu's house. She would watch the old deer make potion and play hide-n-seek with Foliage. Espíritu would teach Chrystant and Foliage about the other side and magic beyond unicorn magic. Chrystant was interested in communicating with the other side, so Espíritu gave her a deck of tarot cards. After years of making potions and dancing in the woods with the deer family, Chrystant earned her cutie mark. Espíritu and Foliage held a special dinner to celebrate Chrystant's milestone. After the dinner, Chrystant ran home to tell her parents the good news. As she excitingly told them about her cutie mark, her parents became livid. They demanded that Chrystant tell them how she got that cutie mark and what has she been doing in the woods. Through tears, she explained how she was talking to the other side and all about the deer family. As her parents was arguing, Chrystant ran to her room to cry in her bed. She forced to stay in the house so the town wouldn't find out that she was a witch. Confused and scared, Chrystant would write notes to Espíritu and send them with her Scop Owl. After a month of sending letters and being locked in her room, the secret finally got out. The town was furious with Chrystant and wanted her gone. In the middle of the night, the town gathered around her house and started to throw fire and stones through her bedroom window. Her mom ran upstairs and dragged Chrystant out her room. Through tears, the two mares started to plan Chrystant escape. Her father was down stairs barricading the doors and yelling at Chrystant about how sorry he was. Her mother worked her magic and started to pack the family's things. As her parents tried to protect the family, Chrystant wrote Espíritu about the situation. She kissed her owl for good luck and let the owl go. Her mother ran in and grabbed Chrystant as she tried to use all her magic teleport them away from the burning house. As she tried to use her magic, Chrystant cried out to her father. He yelled out I love you before the two disappeared. The two teleported infront of Espíritu's house. Her mother fainted from using so much magic and Chrystant began to cry. Foliage quickly came outside and brought the fainted mare. Chrystant cried into Espíritu as she thought about how awful this night has been. Espíritu moved Chrystant to Foliage so she could handle the mare. After a month of laying low, Chrystant's mother felt better and was back to her old self. Espíritu and her mother decided that Hollow Shader was no longer safe for Chrystant. Chrystant's mother gave her a photo of their family, some bits and her old head bad. Espíritu gave her some herbs and an old magic book. As the two mothers kissed Chrystant goodbye, Foliage decided to join Chrystant on her journey. While Espíritu started to argue with Foliage, Chrystant's mom told her to never talk about what took place in this woods and gave her a new name: Predestine. With her new name and best friend, Predestine left in the dead of night. The two didn't know where to go but they wandered around from town to town. Predestine would make money by offering her fortune telling service. After years of anger and sadness, Predestine started to make deals with the other side. Foliage tried to stop her, but he couldn't break through to her. The other side has twisted Predestine's mind and now she is obsessed with magic and potions. The two set roots in a little hut near a swamp in the Ever Free forest. Foliage stays home to work on his underground Witch Doctor business as Predestine travels from town to town, trying to forget the past.
