OOC: http://forum.legendsofequestria.com/index.php?topic=9771.0

Ah, Nightmare Night. A time when ponies dress up as monsters and Mare-do-wells, when candy is consumed en masse, and, of course, campfire-lit descriptions of ghosts and ghoulies, meant to frighten and delight young and old alike. There are many reasons that the average equine loves scary stories, but the main one is that it reminds us of how safe we are. After all, no matter how terrifying the story gets, everypony can sleep easy, knowing that none of it is real.

But what happens to the stories? Surely, something must happen to them. It wouldn't make sense if something didn't, for in our world where love is a tangible force, where the mere idea of peace is enough to fight our adverseries, surely all that fear and imagination would have to go somewhere.

And go somewhere it does. That somewhere is right here. This is the House of the Nightmares Eternal. Every word warning foals of the creatures under their beds, every creature said to be stalking the roads past midnight, every cautionary tale, and every gruesome murderer end up here. As did you.

You don't know why you are here. You simply woke up in a room, with no features to speak of. The carpet seems well cleaned, as do the walls, and the only way out is through one door. Outside said door are all the abominations mentioned above and more. So... what do you do? Will you open it?

Just stopping by to say, if you do get this RP started up, keep it from getting too gruesome or mature.

"(Ticktock, time is running out) What are you doing now?
I don't know where you are, don't even know your name.
They think I'm crazy, my heartbeat goes up..."

((OOC: Using my 2 OCs Dark Grave and Loath Flash. They can be found on my OCs page if you want any info on them. Hope you don't mind, I decided to temporarily handicap Loath Flash for this. Why it happened is up for debate. You can leave it at "it happened" or the GM can create a reason it did. I'm fine with either way.))

Dark Grave's eyes blinked open, the bright red color glazed over. As her eyes cleared she looked around. Hang on... what was this place? This wasn't her house! She jumped up, looking around. It was a pretty plain room. Nothing caught her eye in particular. There was a door a few paces in front of her.  A purple shape shifted at her hooves, causing her to jump and flap open her wings in surprise. It slowly lifted it's head. Sighing, Dark Grave relaxed. "Loath Flash! You're here, too! And I don't suppose you know where this is, huh?" she said with a shrug. "Well, I don't think the door is locked. We'll just go see where this is. I'm sure I can find a window or something and fly us out." As she spoke she glanced around the room, wondering if she missed something like a note. As she finished she looked back to the filly, and her heart stopped beating briefly. Loath Flash had opened her eyes, which were a shade of pale orange. But they weren't as bright as before. The center wasn't as dark anymore. Loath Flash was blind.

Dark Grave let out a screech, her legs failing as she collapsed to the floor. She couldn't be blind. Her vision was always fine. She never had problems with it. The little pony's head turned towards the pegasus. "Dark Grave?," she whispered. It was hard to tell if it was from shock or if her voice was just weak due to waking up. "Are you there?" Dark Grave swallowed, trying to calm down. "I-I'm here.," she replied, standing up and slowly walking towards Loath. "I'm here..." she repeated as she laid next to her, wrapping a wing over the unicorn's shoulder. "Why can't I see you well? Everything's hazy." Loath said, frowning.

Everything's hazy?

Those two words made Dark Grave's spirits rise. "Can you see anything?" she asked quickly. Loath Flash nodded slowly. "Kinda. But it's all distorted and blurry. And the edges are really bad. Like, grey and white." she replied. She can still see things. She isn't completely blind. She can still see. She can still see... Dark Grave thought. She almost wanted to cry with joy. Of course, she wouldn't. That kind of thing was for kindhearted softies. But she could still be happy about it. Loath spoke up again: "Where are we?" she asked. Dark Grave looked around. "Uh. Well, I'm not actually sure," she admitted. "BUT, we are going to get back home, don't worry. " she added. Loath smiled. "Okay." she said as she slipped out from under Dark Grave's wing, standing up. Dark Grave quickly got up as well, resting the tip of her wing over the filly's back. "Since your vision is bad, I think I should help you. Just until it clears up, alright?" she said. Loath nodded. "Yea, that would be best. So, where are we going?"

Dark Grave looked to the door. "Well, there's really only one way to go." she said. She slowly walked towards it, leading Loath along. She started to open the door slowly. A sound echoed through the small gap, and she shut it. "What was that?" Loath asked. "Um... I... I'm not sure." she answered awkwardly. "Alright, I'm worrying over nothing." she thought before tearing the door open, shutting her eyes and stepping out, slamming the door shut behind her and Loath.

As Dark steps out with Loath, she notices first that it looks slightly like a hotel in Manehatten. The carpet is red, and a little dirty, and the wallpaper is a slightly ugly yellow. Far down the hallway, a white stallion stumbles through a door, seeming frightened. He looks around, and runs away from the door, and the two mares.

((Ooc, Using Itchy here, the link to his page can be found on my signature))

A few more minutes...

Itchy thunk to himself, face half covered in drool from being face down on the bed.

Wait a second... i dont have a bed...

Itchy snapped upright, standing on his forelegs. It took a moment for the fog of sleep to leave his eyes but once it did he was surprised to see that he wasn't in his room, and he most certainly was not on his hammock. Confused, he slips (falls) out of bed, stumbling to get up and get his barrings in check. He gave the room a once over, it was simple, neat, but he could not help be feel uneasy about it. It almost seemed too neat. Itchy stood in the silence of the room for what felt like forever, but a soft noise from beyond the only door in the room snapped him back into reality. The noise was indefinable, and made itchy that much more uncomfortable. His years of tracking wild beasts had made him somewhat jumpy and this entire situation wasnt doing him any good. He gulps down his fear and slowly walks over, opening the door just a little bit to peek out.

Looking out, Itchy sees something completely illogical. A forest, tangled with vines and various greenery. Animal calls howl in the distance. It seems to stretch on forever. A voice says, "[glow=black,2,300]We've been waiting...[/glow]" from the wild darkness

Itchy slowly closes the door and sits back down in the safety of the room.

Well there you go itchy. You've gone crazy.

Despite his thoughts telling him so itchy didnt feel crazy, and this most certainly did not feel like a dream. Itchy stands back up with little confidence and opens the door to the impossible jungle. He cautiously takes a few steps outside. Itchy was surprised to find that it smelled, even for a jungle, it had a heavy odor about it. Or maybe that was all in itchys mind...

Enough of this madness!

Itchy thought to himself as he spread his wings and took flight upwards, at least get out of this forsaken jungle.

bauccgia0

Itchy realized, as he flew, that the trees were getting taller. They seemed to be doing this, to block the view, to stop him from getting to the top. It was very likely he'd get tired before they did. The voice came back, "[glow=black,2,300]This way...[/glow]". It seemed to be coming from the direction away from his door.

Renatan

"Hey!" called out Dark Grave as the pony rushed away. "Wait!" she shouted, starting to follow but stopping after just a few steps. No, she had no time to worry about some random stallion. She had to stay with Loath Flash and find out where they were. She trotted back to the filly's side, touching the tip of her wing to Loath's back. "Alright," Dark sighed "Never mind him. Just some guy who got spooked over something silly, I'm sure." She looked around, her eyes narrowed. She couldn't exactly say what this place was. She never was too good at figuring out buildings. Could have been a hotel, could have been a farmhouse. Hay, she sure didn't know.
Maybe I can find somepony who can tell us where this is... she thought, starting to walk down the hallway while guiding Loath.

Suddenly, as Dark walked down the hallway, a cyan blur flew towards her, stopping right in front of her. "Quick, we need to hide. Introductions later, where's the nearest room?" Red eyes, cyan coat, and most strikingly, a rainbow mane and tail. Anyone who paid attention to anything would know that this was Rainbow Dash, repeat savior of the world along with her friends. But what was she so worked up over?

invictus69

After a length of flying itchy gave up and clumsily landed back down to the ground. He huffs out of frustration.

"Alright fine, ill play your game voices..."
Cautiously he makes his way down the path of the forest, antsy and uneasy as he went.

bauccgia0

The forest's path was in the shadows of the trees, suggesting a moon above him, that he could not see. There was movement in the trees, but no animals visible to him. He heard galloping behind him, a fast-paced dash towards him, getting closer and closer, when...

" Help me-hee-heeee!!!"

Then Itchy was lying in a heap, with a yellow pegasus pony collapsed on the ground in front of him. She had pink hair and- hold on. He knew her.

Renatan

Dark Grave took a step back, and Loath Flash flinched as the pegasus zoomed towards them. Dark instantly put a name to the face, realizing that the pony was Rainbow Dash, element of loyalty and friend to Twilight Sparkle. Twilight Sparkle the element of magic. The alicorn. Fan. Pony. Tastic. Just what ponies like her needed; an Element of Harmony bearer who was best friends with a princess! Of course, Dark would not show any concern over this to another pony, and certainly not with Loath Flash there. Dark raised her head, eyes glaring. "Hide? From what? Aren't you supposed to be one of the ever-powerful and pure element of loyalty? Can't you deal with whatever it is you're hiding from?" she snapped.

Loath Flash couldn't quite tell who Dark was talking to. She could make out a lot of blue, so the pony probably had a blue coat. The mane and tail were jumbled up and she couldn't see any distinct color. The voice sounded like a rough female's, so she was probably a mare. The filly inched closer to her master, unsure as to what was going on and unable to tell if this mare was friend or foe. That was, until Dark Grave openly called her the element of loyalty. Loath knew about the Elements of Harmony and the ponies connected to them. She'd heard about their feats across Equestria. While most ponies were overjoyed about them and looked up to the six mares, Dark Grave had explained to Loath that they were kindhearted fools who didn't know what they were doing and just had some dumb luck. Even worse, one of them was now a princess. And princesses were not good for the two of them, that was for sure!

Loath frowned, her ears falling back and body tensing. If Dark said these ponies were not to be trusted, she knew that they were no good.

bauccgia0

Listen, I don't really wanna explain myself right now, there isn't much time! We need to... to... oh no.

As she trailed off, a shadow cast itself onto the wall, and a familiar, yet distorted voice echoed throughout the halls.

[glow=black,2,300]Ohhhh, DAAAAAAAAaaaaaash![/glow]

There was the sound of laughter, and a knife stuck into the wall behind Dark, Loathe, and Rainbow.

Rainbow turned to the two ponies. Run.

Dash motioned for them to follow, and rocketed down the hallway at full tilt, hoping dearly the two new arrivals would be able to keep up.

invictus69

Truth be told, itchy was getting fed up with all this.
How did i even get on the ground?

He wondered as he shakily stood back up, his eyes falling on the yellow and pink mare laying i front of him. It didn't take a scientist to figure out who this pony was, but what had confused itchy is what on earth she was doing in a place like this? Especially given that this pony was somewhat of a coward. He leans down and examines her carefully

"Hello? Are you ok?" He whispers, for two reasons. One, the yellow mare was a coward and he didnt wish to startle her, and two, they might not be alone in this forest. He gingerly pokes her side with his hoof to get a response from her. "Please be alive, i dont think i can handle any more of this i cant..."

bauccgia0

Eep! The pony jumps back, away from Itchy, then realized he was the one who poked her. Oh, I'm... sorry, you startled me a bit. Is it... gone? She looks around, scanning the forest, then lets out a sigh. I don't think it's there any more. Um, sorry to crash into you like that. It happens sometimes when I panic. Could I ask your name? Mine is Fluttershy. She looked around again, with a nervous expression on her face.

invictus69

"Im itchy... my name is itchy i mean, not myself. Well i AM itchy, like i itch alot... its a skin thing, but my names also itchy... right."
That always seemed to happen when he tried to give somepony his name, regardless, what she had said had interested him greatly. "What was that you said before? Is what gone? You're the only thing ive seen here."

Itchy suddenly felt very paranoid, this was not the pony.. or thing that was talking to him when he first came into this forest.
"I think we should move along, we can talk as we go.. Come on now"

bauccgia0

I guess... I mean, yes. That sounds like a good idea. Fluttershy began walking alongside Itchy. It's nice to... to meet you. She was still glancing around nervously, distracted. She snapped back to reality, and addressed his question Um... I'm not sure what I saw, but it was horrible! I... think it had no face! Some rustling came from the trees nearby, and she jumped, squealing. What was that!? But there was no more noise.
