Bane Emural

Rose smiles and leads Yellow to her room. Inside the room are two others: an ODST (Orbital Drop Shock Trooper) and a marine. The marine looks up at Rose and smiles. "Oh hey Rose, how are you doing?" She makes a sign with her claw meaning 'Good'. The ODST soldier notices Yellow and slightly bumps the marine. "Hey Stone, look. We got ourselves a new roommate." Stone notices her too. "So we do. Welcome! I am Stone Rockfell, also known as Stonewall around here." "And I am Flame Star, also known as the Flame Sniper. One of the best ODST snipers in this ship." "You must already met Rose Blackwing, also known as Silent Rose. She is assigned as a Pelican crew chief. She is also a mute, if you haven't noticed her silence." "Anyway, welcome to our room. There is an available bed below Rose's, so you can use that one." Flame points to the bed below Rose's.

Yellow met each of their eyes with a smile.  "A pleasure to meet you all."  She gave Rose a friendly nudge.  "Actions speak louder than words.  No problem there!"

Bane Emural

Rose smiles. "Nice to meet you too. So, where did you come from? One of the planets of the Free Systems or Homeworld?" "And what are you assigned as?" All three looks at Yellow.

"I'm fresh out of flight school from Homeworld," Yellow replied.  "Hired for my first job as a D77-TC pilot!  How about you, Stonewall?" she asked as she put the names in her mini-HUD.  She made a mental note to leave the little gadget in her quarters whenever she was sent on a sortie... wouldn't want to be handing out personnel information to anypony who might end up getting their hooves on it outside the ship.

When a beeping sound hit his personal pad system, Cosmic looks around before pulling out a personal data pad. When he taps the screen, his grandfather shows up on it.

"[glow=yellow,2,300]Hey grandpa. You bringing the requested items? It going to take allot for this one.[/glow]" Cosmic says into the pad.
"Don't you worry your head my grand son. I have enough to deal with just about any kind of problem on board the Rainbow Fortress. We are with in com range and will be there shortly. Don't mind the fact I pulled my entire fleet out of retirement for this run, I felt it would be good to get the ball rolling with this faction, world, whatever." Tech says back.
"[glow=yellow,2,300]Understood Grandpa Tech. Cya soon.[/glow]" Cosmic says then closes the com.
Cosmic look to stardust and the Duke and says, "[glow=yellow,2,300]This will not interfere with the trials. Grandpa will have to wait. Though I wander when he got permission to bring that ship out of retirement. The Rainbow Fortress is a very planet worthy ship. It was grandpa's flagship about 100 years ago.

The only way he would be able to wipe the mothballs off of it would mean.....He did it, that old coot! He got permission to do the planet supply run. We can talk about it when he gets here. His flag ship has a special long range com system. He is probably 6 systems away. He also should know that would take about a day or two to finish the run.
[/glow]" Cosmic is smiling at the fact that his Grandpa is flying in space again instead of being stuck in his lab all day.

"I was born in Ursa 2. Been there most of my life until I joined the military. A lot better than my last job, which was being a hired bodyguard for some pony who wanted to look at the Free Systems like some tourist. Not a lot of fun, I was much like a tour guide than a bodyguard. I am glad to have taken this job so I can really show off my true strength, plus it's fun and exciting."

"Well I came from the Homeworld but got shipped to the Free Systems as a colonist. When I arrived, I was immediately given a job in the military as a sniper. There may have been some request for more soldiers or something like that, but never in a form of recruitment. So basically, I was drafted into the military, but I didn't mind as long as I get payed. I will need bits somehow when I go into retirement." Stone chuckles. "Yeah. If you live that long." Flame glares at Stone. "Oh come now. I was just joking. Or maybe I wasn't." "Will you quit it. You are making Rose nervous again, and maybe Yellow." "Alright, alright. I'm stopping."

Yellow gave an uncertain smile.  "Yeah, I'm not so sure about the whole military thing myself... if I can make it through this, though, it should prepare me for just about any job I could ever have in the future...  Plus I was told it wouldn't be all that dangerous.  I think I'll just be relocating cargo for my first few real flights.  Any of you know other pelican pilots?"

Teal Turken

Returning to the command deck of the Mothership, Neighflower, after receiving a thorough examination by the medical crews, Teal takes a seat with a relaxed sigh and sips from freshly brewed herbal tea out of a flower bud cup.
Have there been any changes to the conditions down on the planet? he asks his crew, hoping to hear that the Harmonians are getting along well with the other nations.

Bane Emural

"Well, I know a few of them during the cleanup mission, but only because the picked us marines up and dropped us off to and from the ship and the planet." Flame looks at Rose. "Rose knows more pilots than the rest of us since she is a Pelican crew chief. Your best bet is to ask her where they hang out because neither Stone or I have seen those pilots as much as we see the other crew members."

-------

Buckeye heads down into the hangars and looks at Calamity's ship that is now docked. He looks at a crew member. "What is the status of the ship?" "Well sir, the ship seems to be in some sort of lock down and the cockpit may have been frozen. Which suggests that the pilot is in cryogenic stasis." "Is there a way to get disable this large cryotube?" "We are still working on that sir."

Yellow chuckled.  "I didn't mean for hanging out, I mostly wanted to ask about how their experience reflects on their behavior.  Something probably not best asked in person.  So..."  She looked around the dorm for a moment.  "Great to meet you all!  What do you do between deployments?"

Bane Emural

Rose walks over to Flame and grabs a piece of paper and pen. She writes down and gives the paper to Flame. Flame reads it. "Rose will usually work on the Pelican she is assigned to, even if she doesn't have a pilot and co-pilot. Or she joins the marines in their duties when they are deployed into battle or operative missions. Stone is a marine, so when a planetary battle has appeared or an enemy boards the ship, by some miracle, he is deployed into battle, or he is sent on a mission. My missions are more based on behind enemy lines type. I am deployed by drop pods, but after a battle or sent to a far location, I am picked up by a Pelican." "But of course, when we don't have something we do, we hang back." "Or we do our duties. For pilots, it could be configuring or help repairing their damaged vehicles. Marines is guard duty, practice, and weapon maintenance. ODST is practice and weapon maintenance. Crew members is maintaining the ship. So we can either hang loose or perform our duties whenever we don't have a mission or a battle to fight in."

"All right, then!  ...Where do I begin?" Yellow asked, wanting to start being productive.  She really didn't like the feeling of being unhelpful.  "Is it bunk time or are you all on a break in the daily routine?"

Bane Emural

Flame looks at Rose. "Rose, show Yellow her new Pelican. The old D77-TC model that you have been working on." She nods and beckons Yellow to follow.

Yellow couldn't keep her eyes from sparkling.  She already had a ship assigned to her?  They said "old", but that really didn't matter.  She'd replace anything worn down.
She eagerly fell in step behind Rose.

Bane Emural

Rose enters into hangar, then goes to hangar bay #052. Inside is a D77-TC Pelican. It seems to be of an oldest model. The Pelican looks banged up from the outside. The front guns are bent or barely attached. Inside, there isn't a back machine gun. The engines looks fine. The inside of the Pelican looks better than on the outside of it. At the cockpit, there are two scratched names near the door. There are sticky notes on the pilot's console, saying: *Engines ready*, *Cockpit fixed*, *Fix armor*, *Fix weapons*. Seems to be of a to-do list.

Yellow refused to be irritated with the craft.  It was, more likely than not, her first test by her new superiors.  "Well," she said, "I think I'll be helping you with maintenance now... might as well get it over with, and that'll give me something to do.  By the way, the weapons look like they'd fall off in a sharp turn... shouldn't they just be dismounted altogether until we're ready to repair or replace them?"

Bane Emural

Rose punches the Pelican and all three guns completely fall off. She takes out a written paper and gives it to Yellow. It says *The reason why this Pelican is so beat up like this because it was shot down long ago, when Buckeye only had one ship under his command. One pilot was critically injured and the other didn't survive. It was suppose to be scrapped but Buckeye kept it here as a memorial. As long as the names weren't tampered with, it can still be repaired or used. That wasn't possible for some mechanics and engineers. It took me a while to fix up the inside, but I found a way to make things easier by detaching the metal containing the scratched names, and then reattaching it to the same spot. Now its easier for it to be repaired. I just got down with fixing the cockpit and the "tray".*

Bravo 658

Yellow nodded, though she didn't know that "the tray" was referring to the passenger compartment.  She made a mental note to ask about military pilot slang when she got back to the barracks later.  "That probably means he'd like to see it flown well... If you have flight simulators aboard this ship, I'd like to get in a few runs before I take this actual bird anywhere.  For now, though, I suppose I'll give the armor a bit of work.  Hang onto anything with a name, right?"

Bane Emural

Rose takes out another piece of paper and writes on it. She shows it to Yellow, saying, *Yes. There are currently two names scratched near the door leading to the "tray" in the cockpit. Do be careful with the armor. It is made of Titanium metal so it will be hard to deal with. Also, since this was an old D77-TC model, I had to rework the cockpit to fit in the crew chief's seat. An original D77-TC Pelican would have only the pilot and co-pilot; however, there is need of crew chiefs since they provide additional support to both the pilots and their passengers. This ship does not carry any flight simulators but we do set up practice courses in any available area there is. I know there is a flight simulator aboard the Carrier, Dreadnought, since it is a carrier.*
