// I need help. I'm completely clueless about what Teal should be seeing in the flame. :c \\

((You are supposed to make that up. If you're clueless, then we can just say Teal sees nothing, however, if you want to base it off the description, i.e. Teal in angelic robes, that could work too.))

// Well I can't come up with anything that has any reason for it to be there so... \\

Teal continues to stare into the flame. He squints his eyes and leans in closer but still sees nothing.
I'm sorry but I don't see anything in the fire sentinel but the fire itself. he sighs, rearing his head away from it.

Asterian Starfall

Asterian snuffs out the flame and says, [glow=yellow,2,300]"There are few who can the first time."[/glow] He smiles benevolently at Teal and continues, [glow=yellow,2,300]"But enough about Fire Sentinels. What about you, Teal? Why sit out here all by yourself?"[/glow]

Teal looks back upwards at Asterian.
Well...it's not for the seclusion. I have a very deep love for the water and it had been a long day at work. I hadn't really gotten the chance to go swimming all day so I took this opportunity to relax in the lake out here.
He rubs his hooves together a bit.
um..you could join me if you want.

Asterian Starfall

Asterian looked up thoughtfully at the offer. He chuckled and said, [glow=yellow,2,300]"Oh, why not? I don't have much else to do anyhow."[/glow] He casually doffed his hat and cloak, levitating them to a hedge branch as he gracefully dove in. Indeed the water was splendid, and he could easily see how Teal would find joy and tranquility in swimming. He resurfaced and laughed, [glow=yellow,2,300]"Wow, this is nice. So tell me a little about yourself, Teal. I'm curious as to who you are."[/glow]

Teal smiles seeing Asterian join him. It's not often he gets company on him swims.
He swims around gracefully using mostly his wings to propel himself.
Well, I'm 19 years old and I have had a passion for swimming and learning what's under the waters since I was 7. I live out in Ponyville with my wife Nala Valor and my children, who are adopted. he explains, getting the basics out of the way.
You already know I work at the weather factory. I could be a marine biologist but I never had the funds to attend college for that... :s

Asterian Starfall

[glow=yellow,2,300]"'Could be?' Teal my friend, if there is one thing I know it is that if you wish something to be, it will be."[/glow] He kicked his legs up and floated on his back, looking up at the sky. [glow=yellow,2,300]"Well you've told me about you, so I suppose I should explain myself. I'm sixteen years of age and have been a writer since the age of eight. Interestingly enough, I live in Ponyville as well and... I want to say I've seen a pegasus like you before walking by my house... That's... really everything I can think of that is relevant."[/glow]

Teal Turken

Well what kind of stories do you write? Teal asks, swimming over to Asterian and kicking his legs up to lay on his back as well.

Asterian Starfall

[glow=yellow,2,300]"Eh, just fiction novels mostly... I keep a journal and write down what happens to me, but I like being able to paint a picture from scratch if you follow me."[/glow] He raised his head to look at Teal and said, [glow=yellow,2,300]"I have a copy of one of my if you'd like to read it."[/glow] He bore a smile that invited but did not demand his participation.

Teal Turken

I'll think about it.
Teal returns to the look to Asterian.
I might do some studying and raising money for that college degree. :)

Asterian Starfall

Asterian smiled at his companion. [glow=yellow,2,300]"That's the spirit. Keep shooting for the stars, for they are not as hard to hit as one may think."[/glow] He dove underwater, down to the very bottom of the lake. There he re-positioned himself and kicked off the sandy bottom with all he could. He rose like a bullet as he broke through the surface of the water, almost freeing himself from it entirely and becoming airborne. He slipped back down into his relaxed position as before and laughed a little.

Teal laughs as water splashes over him. He flips right side up and doggy paddles around Asterian.
I was wondering, do you know any good book stores that sell helpful books for the learning college student?

Asterian Starfall

[glow=yellow,2,300]"Hmm... Well, you could try Golden Oaks Library for obvious reasons, but past that I can't really help much."[/glow] He shrugged slightly as a physical addition to his words.

Earl Grey began looking for Teacup. He wanted to have a chat with someone, and she seemed like someone who would at least be relaxing to talk to, a good detox for the conversation he just had with Chirp. He turned to one of the guards.

Excuse me, sir. Could you tell me where the maid Teacup is? I'd like to talk to her.

The guard looked to the pony's side, and Earl realized that the maid was already there.  Since when did she get here?

"You called, milord?" she curtsied, smiling quietly.

Ah! Oh, hello, Teacup. Well, um-

Earl Grey fumbled for words, realizing that he had no idea what he was going to talk about. In his mad rush for conversation, he forgot he wasn't all that good at talking to mares. He decided to ask her about the one thing he knew she could answer.

Well, I wanted to ask you how you came to work for Lord Fancy Pants. After all, he's pretty particular about those he surrounds himself with.

The maid smiled softly.  "Servants of the House of Fancy are born into their role, milord.  The Servants have served the House of Fancy for five generations, each filly and colt following in the hoofsteps of their parents.  Servants begin their training early, though the current Master is understanding and very courteous, and allows mothers to care for their foals without service until the child earns a cutie mark.  In the past century, only three Servants, who are assigned almost no tasks at all at the moment, have been brought in from outside, and only out of the kindness of Master's heart, freeing them from the criminals that enslaved them.  The Servants work for wages, which are generous, but also out of love and respect for the Master of the House, whose family had provided room, board, services and some of the best wages in Equestria to the Servants for five generations.  No Servant is forced to serve."

Earl's face lit up. Now, he could actually try and hold a conversation.

Really? So the Servants of this house are almost nobility in their own right, then?

Teacup curtsied deeply.  "This Servant is here to serve, milord, not to be served.  The role of Servant is not one envied by the elites of society, or even by the common pony, but it is an honor nonetheless to serve Master."

I'd have thought a writer like yourself would know a few more bookstores than that. Teal says in surprise with his eyebrows raised. You never got any copies of famous writings to learn from?

Earl smiled, and realized he had efficiently drained that aspect of conversation. Welp. He decided to switch gears.

Well, do you get any free time? You know, time to read, paint, things like that?

He would find common ground with this mare if it took the whole night.
