one thing I have to say about the new episode: how the heck did Pinkie bring back cupcakes? everything else from there but the memories stayed, but not the cupcakes? I know, Pinkie's compliance to the laws of reality are limited, but that was not reality they were in. it was more like a simulated reality, like the physical form being kept in one place as molecules, the mind inside of this world. like a dream created by another pony. By the way, who wrote the comic? it had to be a strong unicorn or an alicorn to be able to do an enchantment like that. Maybe trollestia?

I wouldn't say an interdimensional, that's also linked to the fourth wall, like her watching the movie herself.

My only complaint right now is that the new episode feels short and half of it is set up, making the other half feel rushed.

If someone gets offended or annoyed by that, Im completely sorry, but, in my opinion... this chapter was good and bad in many ways, still, Im sorry if the spoilers angers in any way.

Im gonna be as... dunno... honest? as I can.
All of the episode goes around Spike being the helpless, weak, and pointless character that he is... which I REALLY feel bad about him, since its one of the most... (personal opinion) Interesting characters in the series along with Celestia and Discord, which takes me to another point... what if Discord gave Spike the comic? I wouldnt be surprised by it. But nevermind, I think that Hasbro its just trying to make up for the really poor impression that gave out from Spike in early seasons, the chapter of the Crystal Empire he was an opportunist, and the one with the Timberwolfs he got lucky, from my point of view, they have to try a lot harder to develope this kind of characters and stop dragging some senseless plots with pointless references.

If the season 4 intro was precisely one year after the season 1 intro, that means Luna has received a whopping TWO HUGS since she returned to Equestria.   D:

Season 4 is looking great so far. Looking forward to the Weird Al episode. Hopefully Luna will get some more love, always was my favourite background pony. ;)

seems to be "BATS" (bats are invading sweetappleacres) - i thought it would be "Rarity takes Manehatten" but i guess we have to wait until next year for best pony...

Funny episode with an unexpected twist. I really thought the episode was going touch more on the consequences of getting rid of a pest that was really beneficial. In the cartoon, that would basically equate to less apples due to fewer new apple trees since the vampire fruit bats were responsible for spreading the seeds naturally.

That episode was.....interesting
Definitely wasn't what I was expecting to happen plot wise.  Not the best episode this season but also not the worst

Also

Twilight says ACTION STATIONS!!!!I LOVE that line!  I thought i'd never hear it outside of Sea Patrol......they could have added assume damage control state....since...you know....damage control :P

I still think Fluttershy is wrong and the others are right that the bats need to go. They consume the food supply of an entire village but obviously have come from somewhere else that had food plus the other kind of fruit bats had already took a field that was a part of the original apple acres. Their 'help' for planting new trees could be just as negative as consuming the apples. The new trees wouldn't have any order and would be planted too close to each other. AJ and her family could easily plant new trees if they wanted to.

I want to thank all of the artist that have drawn my OCs.

Apparently the new trees will be better too, and when the fruit bats aren't attacking someone, they  would probably drop it while flying, dropping farther away from eachother. I think the saliva is good for the seeds; a natural fertilizer.

Certainly an interesting episode and probably a little bit on the darker end for the series even if it was still pretty mild in that regard. The song was also of a bit different theme as well and was fun to listen to, though I think they were being a little bit too mean to Fluttershy.

Since I didn't get to see the episode until a little bit ago I had Flutterbat spoiled slightly by all the artwork popping up on DevArt so I assumed it had to do with the new episode. Though I had no idea how it would actually happen. I do believe it's safe to say that "The Stare" definitely has a passive magical component of some kind if it was able to bounce Twilight's spell onto Fluttershy. Also, I had to go back to look, but apparently Fluttershy's cutie mark was altered in addition to her appearance.

Pinkies mane is apparently prehensile as well (if there is a previous example of this I have completely forgotten).

Of course the little bit just before the credits has me wondering if they're actually going to bring it up again later in the season or not. It would be interesting if it isn't just forgotten down the road, but I can't say I would be surprised if they completely ignored it from now on either.

I really enjoyed this episode, and really liked the new song. But I was a little disappointed, because I was hoping they would show a little more about the Night Pony (or just Bat Pony) race, like Luna's royal guard. But it was interesting either way.

And indeed, it seems Flutterbat's cutie mark became three pink bats instead of the butterflies. It was a nice little touch.
