It looks nice. I'm glad to see a return to the older top-down view, I just wish the camera was tilted just a few degrees more. The only thing I don't like is that this link is a mix between Alttp link and young link. The new ability is interesting.

I'd recommend you dl the trailer from the eshop, the 3d is done quite nicely.

Looks very very interesting and retro. It's definitely on my Wishlist now.

Luigi's Mansion and Paper Mario were two games pushing me to the edge. This new Zelda game is the one that finally did it.  ovO

My main reason is Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, its 3D, and the other games.

Zelda thread. Right. Um...

I've yet to find the remaining Gold Skulltulas. Been lazy on it since it gets much harder to find hidden stuff after you progress so far.

I still want to 100% that. And I may try the Master Quest as well. Since that game is "picking up dust" (It's really just in my 3DS Game Cards Holder). Re-experience the brilliance of that game.

And, if only I had an Expansion Pak for my N64. I am EAGER to try out Majora's Mask! >:(

Where is a 3DS version of Majoras Mask o.O ?

The game mechanics look solid, however, I find the graphics to look a little cheap. It's probably just me, but I think there could have been more graphical detail on Link and the enitre game world.

I don't like those happy colors Zelda used to be a dark game just remember shadow temple in ocarina of time or the dungeons in twilight princess. I realy prefer those dark graphics in Zelda games.

Actually Zelda was originally very colorful. Shadow temple was only dark because it is meant to resemble shadows. Twilight princess had dark colors , but it made it hard to play , and see. Ocarina of time , windwaker , skyward sword , and 3/4 of the handheld Zelda games had happy , and bright colors. Heck even the scary , and dark Majoras mask had bright color schemes even if it was incredibly depressing.

Originally Zelda wasn't colorful on Atari ^^
And I have a reason for not playing the handheld games, cause I think those are way to colorful. And I don't remember ocarina of time to be a that colorful just remember the zombies at hyrule city or the temple at the desert.

I would never assume the overall light-hearted graphics as being indicative of how the game actually plays. People complained when Wind Waker was announced and similarly for Skyward Sword for their 'childish look,' and both games were phenomenal, I feel.

I understand graphics being very subjective -some people like the bright, colorful look, and some like dark and intimidating- but just because a game appears one way from a minute-long trailer, doesn't say very much. As Blues mentioned, Ocarina of Time didn't have a consistently 'dark' look, but it had moments where it was dark.

Older "gamers" tend to be more judgy and less tolerable when it comes to gaming.

Of course. A "retro gamer" minds that not. I tend to still find the games brilliant.

It's not about the graphics. Graphics just make it look better. But what makes it best is the Gameplay itself.

And it's still in development/mimicking the Link to the Past style. It's like M&L: Dream Team. Since the game used to be just sprites, and making it to a 3D game with 3D depth.

It's not always about realism or darkness. It seems ponies these days prefer darkness over a lively style.

Oh well. Opinions... lol

I'm not to judge until it's released. :P

Itty Bit

I've been wanting to play a Link to the Past again for a while now, so I got kind of excited; this announcement game came out at a good time.
The only thing I wish they kept was Link's silly pink hair that nobody seems to notice from the original  ^-^

They bring up a few good points, especially considering the setting.

Oh, so that's where that Link drawing originated from  X3 .

GoldenTerrabyte

No offense, but if you don't like the color, how do you watch a bright show like MLP?

I have high hopes for this game.  I love all the Zeldas but there is a certain nostalgia for the 2D ones that I really like.  Looking forward to this and the Oracle games that I never got to play
