The Dreamer [Private] (Ch3: The Things You Fear Most)

After cleaning the place up where he cooked the meal for his comrades, Nova leaves the room and walks out.
He stops at the entrance and looks up to the sky.

(Gather up everybody. We're heading out.)

Explicit stands at the door of the temple, her vigor renewed by some sudden force. She begins to feel the vibe of the temple, a pulsing beat. She steps through the arched entrance of the temple, her eyes set dead ahead. There's no path ahead, but she will make one. She sets out, only hoping that someone is following her.

(Rolled a d4, 2 events, both bad, we'll be fighting another patrol of panthacorns and a new enemy type.))

[Seriack]

In a small part of his mind, the part that held the bond between him and all his friends, he felt the shift take place in Explicit. It was time to go. He cut off the tenuous connection he had with the Dreamworld outside the Dreamer's dream and opened his eyes. He felt once more rejuvenated, and maybe even a bit more-so.

He stood and walked out, out if the room and the temple, following behind as the Dreamer as she forged the path ahead... The Path that only she knew.

[Lusterless Nova]

Nova sees explicit head out. After taking a deep breath he starts moving.
He follows her but keeps his eyes focused at the path that she is about to go. No matter what dangers will be ahead, he is determined to walk it until the very end.

[Explicit Escritoire]

"I feel different." Explicit says as she continues to walk. At this point, she's honed her ability to sense the darkness within the forest. She's decided to take the direct route to the next fight, removing nearly an hour of walking time. She doesn't seem to speak to anybody in particular, but she only speaks when she knows Farsight is near. "You can feel it, can't you?"

Escy doesn't turn to look back, she simply continues ahead. If she looks back, she might lose her strength to push forward.

[Seriack]

I've felt it for a while. He replies, continuing to follow her, his armor forming on him like mist, solidifying into a proper defense.

[Explicit Escritoire]

"I don't know if it's for the better. I mean, I feel better, but-" Explicit suddenly stops and the shards that were once a part of her staff slip out of her vest pocket. They begin to rotate around her, awaiting her command for inanimate possession. A low shriek can be heard, a poor attempt at subtle communication. Discovering that they themselves had been discovered, the small group of Panthacorns hops out of hiding within the forest.

"Quicker route, more dangerous route. Fine by me." Escy says as her tosses the shards at the closest tree, uprooting it and causing it to grab one of its branches to use as a club. It steps in front of Explicit, holding itself defensively, prepared to block the first blow of combat. "Farsight, we battle!"

[Seriack]

Let them come! He shouts, two rapiers forming near him. He hadn't used these as much as his other weapons, but he still had some practice with them. And being able to move quickly would allow him to dodge the Pantacorn's attacks much more easily. Instead of the normal gray aura, the golden aura surrounds his horn once more.

[Explicit Escritoire]

At first, the group can tell that there are four panthacorns. Double the trouble from last time.

And then the fifth one comes flying from the treetops. The tree guardian quickly swipes a collection of its branches, twisted and wound into a brutally strong arm, smashing the airborne panthacorn to the ground.

Two panthacorns set after Farsight, while the other two move to attack Explicit. One is intercepted by the tree, but it quickly hops into the tree. Being enchanted with the same glowstone magic as the tree, the panthacorns already know the point to strike at, and this one is heading straight for it. Explicit uses her clawshot to shoot herself into the animated tree, knocking the panthacorn to the ground. It rolls and recovers, preparing for its next assault.

[5 Panthacorns remain]

((That rage when you're gone in a peaceful scene and come back to a fight scene))

[Explicit Escritoire]

(Heard people complaining about how slow the roleplay is going. SO I'm kicking my butt into high gear to get the ball rolling again. I was going to use the new site as my inspiration to do so, but since it's not moving after all, I'm just digging into some enthusiasm reserves. You can teleport to me, just don't freak out or fall over. You'll be like a free snack to the panthies.

((I hope you had a good B-day anyway Jenz... I just don't like how slow it's getting here... But I'll still be here!))

Farsight feints an attack on the Pantacorn to the right with one rapier, then uses the other to attack the left one. He jumps back and to the right as he does so. Both rapier edges glow a brighter gold.

Zappy appears and looks at the pantacorns. (What IS a pantacorn?)
W-what's going on here?

[Seriack]

[Explicit Escritoire]

Explicit commands her tree to strike at one of the panthacorns, successfully picking it up and throwing it at a nearby tree. The panthacorn lands on the trunk of the tree vertically, on its paws, and quickly jumps off it and onto the golem, clawing at Explicit and nearly throwing her off balance.

Explicit then send the remaining crystals into the panthacorns wing, shattering it but destroying one of her crystals in the process. Explicit can feel a sudden, sharp sting. The crystals connected with the dark energy somehow and transferred a prick of pain to Explicit. Nothing to be too concerned about, though.

On the forest floor, one of the panthacorns sets its eyes for Zappy, while the other two creep up on the animated tree, seeing it as the obvious first target.

"Quick, help Zappy!" Explicit shouts down to Farsight, trying to keep her eyes on the entire battlefield.
