[The Wandering Magus]

As the mud came off, it exposed two lightly glowing green eyepieces.  They flashed and shifted to a transparent green, faintly showing two friendly--though shocked--brown eyes.  "Heh, thanks.  That's a bit bett--erm..." he paused, looking around.  "Oh, dear.  This ain't the lab.  I, uh..."  He stood up, knocking more mud off in the motion, revealing a tall, lean suit of steel armor.  He turned in a circle, stumbling with uncertainty.  He stopped, facing Portal Jumper.  "Well... shoot.  This just isn't the lab.  Is this some sick prank by the science team?  Did they drug me and leave me out here, or did I really just hit that wall?"

Hundreds of soldiers teleport immediately to the location, high-energy projectile weapons set to instant vaporization and pointed directly at the intruder.  They had full intention to fire until the Director himself appeared next to them.

"Troops, STAND DOWN.  Stranger.  You have willfully invaded Equestrian Airspace by dangerous methods which authorize us to instantly vaporize you and send your soul to the Princesses without so much as a beg-your-pardon.  WHAT is your purpose for attacking this facility?"

A general tapped a small jewel on his hoof.  "All soldiers to battle stations.  This is an Omega-level emergency.  This is not a drill.  Repeat, this is NOT a drill.  All soldiers to battle stations."

The order echoed in every hall as millions of millions of hooves marched to their proper places.

The war-room was already half-full with military and governmental ponies, all wearing security clearance tags.  There were generals and the Admiral of the Navy, black-operations commandos, high-ranking nobles from the Princesses' inner circle of advisers, emissaries from every nation of the world, scientists, important civilians and, of course, the Princesses Themselves, Lord Discord, and the Five Elements.

A three-dimensional hologram of the universe was displayed, along with a three-dimensional representation of the thirteen or so dimensions which linked the current universe with the nearby universes, at least the relevant ones.  A red sphere highlighted the Discord universe.

On the table were briefing folders containing all manner of information gathered by scouts and the Imperial Archives about the Fallen World's version of Discord and the known powers of the Elements of Chaos.

The Wanderer has excused himself some time ago, but had returned, his deep eyes like infinite wells of knowledge.  He was conversing silently with the four Princesses and Discord through whatever strange methods available to creatures considered gods by normal mortals.  Concern was on every face in the quiet silence as they awaited the ponies and creatures from other universes still gathered above.

Black operations soldiers and commanders, all wielding weapons which can instantly vaporize on sight and trained to a supernatural extent, appear all around the intruders, weapons pointed directly at the ponies at point-blank range.

"Stand down, strangers, and lay down your weapons NOW.  You have ten seconds to comply.  You are on restricted military grounds and are in violation of Imperial Law in digging and/or destroying military property and attempting to infiltrate a military complex."

"Okay... But what are those things you're wearing? They don't seem to be dangerous at all." Aspex said while standing still.

The armored pegasus flopped down in the mud again and covered his head with his hooves.  "I DIDN'T DO IT, MY TEAM KEEPS PULLING THESE PRANKS ON ME!"  He paused.  "...Attack?  Oh, so I did hit that wall..."  He looked up, and remembered the military types all around him.  "...Uh... I'll just say right now, I don't even know what I'm doing here.  Some sick-minded law of physics spat me out here."

"Warning, slip-space rupture dectected. High frequency. Battle group 29-D ordered to investigate, out."

The robotic voice echoed through the structures around a newly found asteroid, unknown of the materials inside. Five ships out of the few fifteen flew away, their direction towards the blue aura in the dark space.

Slowly, they grew closer. It was just a meter's distance that the portal closed before them.

"Well, what the buck was that!?" A large, stallion voice transmitted to the five ships.

"I don't know cadet, but this isn't the first time, I mean-"

It was a trap. The portal suddenly opened again, and this time, brought a gravitational pull, bringing the five ships to their doom.

Writhing seconds, the portal collapsed, with no signs of the ships.

The supposed leader nods to a soldier, and the masked stallion fires a demonstration shot at a boulder.  The entire area, for 30 meters in diameter, instantly converts from matter into energy, exploding with the light of a thousand suns as a carefully directed shockwave shoots up through the atmosphere, leaving behind a trail of empty space that quickly fills with air.

The sound is like the roaring of a thousand oceans, and the shock of the explosion is enough to knock a weak pony over even at this range, about a mile away.  The Royal Guards were trained from birth and fitted with deadly weapons for operations which concerned the security of the entire nation.

As soon as the self-destruct sequence activates, the two are immediately turned to stone by a spell similar to the one which froze Discord.  The method by which the Princesses' Royal Gardens were filled with statues became suddenly clear.

"We will unfreeze the prisoners in a padded cell surrounded by guards," the general informed the other two.  "Please stand down and put down your weapons."

"This is Lunar Lander to the Director." She tried to raise a signal with the Director. She couldn't bear to say his real name, almost everyone she knew barely talked to him. It would take guts to even say a word to him. "Access code Eclipse." She sighed, knowing that saying bad news at such time wouldn't be the greatest thing for him.

"We've lost another squad while investigating a rupture near the asteroid field. Five ships are now M.I.A. The portal frequencies have grew significantly. How is it on your side?"

Aspex looks at the boulder that disappeared and then looks at petrified Bleyd. "I think I come peacefully. I have no weapons with me as I use magic to fight." He said to the soldiers.

Farsight is slightly taken a back, he is left almost completely alone, with only Jenzy nearby. As everypony scrambles to their positions, he stands, and waits patiently.

He slowly stood back up.  "You got it... and I'm armored, not armed.  I'm a test chamber lab associate."  He cautiously moved into position to follow.

The Director nodded curtly, then vanished as he teleported away.  Half an instant later, the armored pony and the soldiers are group-teleported into the heavily armed facility.

DD and Bleyd are currently turned to stone and are unable to move or speak until unfrozen inside the complex.

The soldiers nod and scan the intruders.  Satisfied with the results, they turn to their leader, who gives a signal.

Half a second later, the soldiers, prisoners and statues are group-teleported into the facility under armed guard.

"This is Lunar Lander to the Director." She tried to raise a signal with the Director. She couldn't bear to say his real name, almost everyone she knew barely talked to him. "Access code Eclipse." She sighed, knowing that saying bad news at such time wouldn't be the greatest thing for him

"We've lost another squad while investigating a rupture near the asteroid field. Five ships are now M.I.A. The portal frequencies have grew significantly. How is it on your side?" 

The Director received the message as he entered the complex.

"Situation is being dealt with here, Lunar Lander.  Head and Sword are at the Table.  Fluctuations observed.  Code Red.  Omega-level threat suspected.  Return to station, and do not sacrifice more scouts to investigate the rift.  Command Group Alpha will port to your location in twenty minutes.  Please turn on holographic relay to speak with Table.  Command Code Twilight.  Stand by for further orders.  Director out."

"Umm... Can anypony tell me where we are?" Aspex asked.

[Somebeing]

"Copy." The orders were quite clear. Bring everyone back to the station and wait until reinforcements would arrive for further orders. Something hesitated her, however. What caused such occurrences so suddenly? Maybe it was just an electromagnetic rift passing by our universe, or maybe-

"Ma'am, Crusier Griffion has returned from its duties and-."

His voice was enough to break her thoughts, thankfully.

"Delay our reports, Brigadier, but the Director ordered us to move all our ships back." She interrupted, giving a quick glance at the pony, who was still frozen, standing still. "That's an order from our own Director! Move it!"

"Yes Ma'am!" The Brigadier barked back before trotting out of the room.
