It seem like nopony else at the exhibition had anymore questions to ask. The Guard from earlier smiled as he began to take his leave and turned to the young Cadet.

<Guard> Terrain, let's go. Princess would love to hear more about this.

The young Cadet, Terrain, nodded and followed the older guard back to Canterlot Castle

Feather smiled and greeted the various government officials as they left the room, giving his regards to the soldiers who shook his hoof and giving tips to the few researchers who asked for them.  He had little more to add to the press, besides a few comments about the "potential for glory" and other such fluff.

With the dignitaries finally out of his mane, he had the interns clean up the demonstration area and get to work on a new project.  A strange machine it seemed, comprised of various metal tubes, a lightning engine, cooling mechanisms, chains of lead pellets, and massive amounts of firework-powder...

The professor was carefully examining the blueprint and the demonstration model as his interns rushed this way and that.

The group reaches the castle. Nova walks to the next guard he sees.
Good night. My name is Lusterless Nova. I have to speak with Dr. Feather Scroll.

Range and Crimson followed behind Nova. The guard quickly recognizes Nova and steps aside.
<Guard> Of course sir. Are these civilians with you as well?

[Lusterless Nova]

Yes they are. I will take responsibility if something happens. But i don't think this will be the case.
Please lead us to Dr. Feather Scroll.

<Guard> Alright then, right his way. *He looks to Range with a rather serious expression.* And you, alchemist, you'd better be on your best behavior in there.

Range seemed surprised for a moment, but then remembered what her cutiemark stands for. She nods to the guard slowly.

<Guard> Good. Sorry, but I can't be too sure.

[Cutiebone]

Cutiebone gives the guard a bright smile and Charlie hops while on Cutiebone's back. "Ruff!" "Charlie!!" She sighs and looks toward the guard's hooves, "I'm sorry, he's new." She follows behind Range and Nova.

The laboratory is a mess of spare parts and smoke, and sparks were flying as lightning flashed back and forth just beyond a yellow line drawn on the floor helpfully cautioning "danger: experimentation ahead!".  The crowd of interns and assistants rushing back and forth, the rolling chalkboards covered with equations and derivations, and the sound of hundreds of odd, arcane-looking lightning generators made it all seem quite chaotic, but if one stood still and looked for a few minutes, some semblance of order might have been visible in what on the surface looked to be pure anarchy.  The professor was somewhere in the midst of the rush, though neither visible nor audible from where the visitors were standing.

Range and Crimson followed behind Nova, ducking under the yellow line and taking a view of the place while trying not to step on anything. Range gasps a bit in awe

<Range> This is highly impressive!
<Crimson> Yeah... It is... Although, I think I found the one place that gets messier than your room, haha!
<Range> Aw shut it, Crimson

[Cutiebone]

Cutiebone stays far behind the yellow line and sits while Charlie jumps in her arms/forlegs or whatever to hide from the sparks and lightning. Cutiebone watched the seemingly chaotic lab experiment and hushed down Charlie's panic.
