No, snorlax IS the board! It has awesome buoyancy.

>Awesome buoyancy
>1014.1 lbs
I don't think so....

Most of its body weight must be fat. Fat makes you float more easily.

Don't know what to put here.
So I just am typing these words, not knowing what to type here.
Maybe later I'll figure out.

How the heck can Snorlax surf? lol

Probably the same as pikachu surfing.... except Snorlax's the board.

But Snorlax would crush the board. o.o

yeah but have you seen the orange islands episode where ash catches a snorlax? it knew surf and did this belly flop thing..getting from island to island eating all the fruit trees

Snorlax can float like a raft, entirely possible  ovO

I've watched Chuggaaconroy's LP's for quite a while, and he's raised some interesting points.  Namely that Electrode should, according to his math, be capable of floating on water carrying something as heavy as 2000 lbs, but it isn't able to learn Surf in any way.

Caution: Math ahead.
Spoiler: show
His math (and mine, to check and make sure it makes sense) goes that it weighs 66.6 kg and its height (also diameter if it's a perfect sphere) is 1.2 m.  Thus it's volume is about .904 m^3, and it's density is about 73.6 kg/m^3.   That's compared to water's density of 1000kg/m^3, so it should be able to float easily. Not honestly sure how he figured how much weight it would support...

Surf implies to me that the user would have some degree of control over their movement in water. Sure Electrode is super buoyant, but can it do anything other than act as a fancy bobber for a fishing line? That's the most logical argument I can give in the goofy thing's defense. That, and there's already enough weird things swimming around these days.

Mmmm, quite.

I see your point.  I just figured I'd add that to the Surf conversation, not exactly that I agreed with him.  Even if Electrode could find a way to just spin in the water, that would 1) Not be likely to get it anywhere, and 2) Knock its trainer right off, making Surf just about as useless for it as you mentioned.  Still, it's a funny image, huh?

Also you've given me a brilliant idea: Electrode fishing.  Need to learn patience while fishing?  Use an Electrode as your bobber!  If you reel in too soon, it explodes! And if you catch something, you've got an Electric type on standby to weaken it.  Think of the possibilities! :D

Book Smarts

Would you really want to place ball shaped pokemon known to shoot volts of electricity and commonly self destruct; into the water, and then make it learn surf  :I

Yes, they have. Let alone some other pokemon, but especially these two.

I dunno much about the physics of surfing, so here are two surfboards covered in dogs:

That's funny. I've always wondered about battles in the middle of the water, they don't make much sense most of the time.

Diglet in a water battle.......How?!  lol
[move][/move] Hi! Hello! Hola! Benvenidos! Bonjour! Gutentag! :P I think you get the idea.

Stardust Dragon

Oh so it's okay to drop a Graveler into the ocean, but people mock me when I talk about putting an Electrode in water? I see... :/

Nah, I'm just kidding.  Katie's posted quite a few funny comics about Pokemon, but this is one of the better ones in my opinion.
