[The Wandering Magus]

Have NO idea where this should go, so mods, if you think this should go elsewhere, please feel free to move it to the right board.

I'm writing a sort of "theme song" ish thing for the Traveler's Blessing, but all I have are lyrics that kinda-sorta go with that song from the Hobbit trailer.  Knowing that it's bad to go copying another song's melody, I tried thinking of an alternate tune, but I'm kinda bad at making music   Could any of you maybe try composing a melody or something for this?  And suggestions/constructive criticism is always welcome for the lyrics of course

Far over the Canterlot Mountains tall,
To Luna's keep, Celestia's hall.
Timberwolves howl in the dark;
The dragons come to leave their mark.
The clouds turn pink,
Our spirits sink,
Equestria fell to Discord's might,
But we returned, him for to smite!

But vict'ry was tempered with mourning.
Suffering ponies, our actions scorning
Showed us the pain that Discord had left,
And though we'd won, of joy we were bereft.
For traveller's aid,
A Blessing we made.
From fair Canterlot out to the world
We travelled Equestria with banners unfurled.

And over the years our numbers grew small,
For our group unicorns alone did call.
And so at last we opened up our herd,
And in non-unicorns our group conferred.
And then once more
In days of yore,
We walked the paths Equestrian
To help the lost pedestrian.

Now, long after those dark days,
Our Watchers strong still guard the ways.
And though we finished all our founders willed,
And we the land with peace have filled
We carry on,
With every dawn,
To finish now our herd's new goal:
To help each stallion, mare and foal.

Once again we climb the mountains tall,
In triumph over Discord's fall!
Our friendships held, our honesty stood strong.
Our kindness grew; our laughter in song
A generous gift

Please note this is my first song ever. First original i mean (Not taking credit for the lyrics just... Ah you know what i mean  ), so it may not be the most awesome thing ever, though i'm doing my best to make it sound kick flank! 

Oh, i shall note that i'm going for a... Sort of... Psychodelic/Epic kind of sound. I'll drop a sample in a bit. Perhaps the full thing, though i can't sing at the moment, unless you want my mother and sister arguing as background vocals.

Heh... I thought it was easy to see, then again, i made it.

If i'm lucky everyone will go out to the supermarket soon. That'll be my chance to sing. It's not that i don't like being heard, but they really like to interrupt me whenever i'm recording. Everytime. Not on purpose but... Still happens. 

Only reason i recorded the guitar so fast was because i have a Rocksmith USB Cable to plug my guitar into the Laptop/Xbox 360. So no background noise.

Hah! I wish i could say the same about my writing. I get inspiration to write every two years or so. Not really a great writer if you only write every two years.

I didn't think i... Oh who am i kidding, i know i have some talent for music. 

I'm impressed at the rate i learn how to play the guitar. Even more with the music i make, which starts with a random compilation of notes, trying to get a certain sound, and then... "Ze Magiks!" 

But... Enough bragging. You have talent for writing. I really like singing your lyrics. It feels good to do so. I'd like to write like that, not only for lyrics, but for stories too. I have some great ideas but... Not the writing skills, unlike you!

I think it's done! Listening to it a couple of times to see if i shall record the voice again. 

Must say some of those words were hard to pronounce! No worries though, it all worked out. Hahaha.

Wait... Near the end... On "We climb the mountains tall", for some reason, i said "We Flind". FLIND? Oh well, guess i'll re-record the voice. 

Shall be ready in less than 30 minutes though.

It is complete! I will upload it now. I ended up adding two vocal tracks with vocal reflection (One loud and the other one quiet, volume-wise), which ended up making the whole thing even more Psychodelic/Epic.
