Ah greetings professor. As the new medic of the forums I welcome you here.
Also you may want to work on that pea can thing. A vegetable certainly can't harm you.  :)  Unless of course you are allergic, which I seem to doubt.  lol

It ended up killing 30456 equine and i had to get some old college friends together and travel through time to destroy the Pea-can before it could destroy the world. THAT is why i can never come within a can of peas.  X3
"I seem to remember some time ago that a time spell matrix device went missing from my laboratory, was that one of you?  Although there's plenty of other researchers in that department, to be sure.  It MIGHT have been Mr. Whooves again, but I didn't hear his little contraption anywhere nearby at that time."

"Well, I cannot speak for the Professor here, but I for one research ways to combine various spells and mana storage units to create a more powerful effect through loops and chain reactions that incorporate all known forms of energy, from electromagnetism to magic to gravitation.  These networks of spells, which I usually call "spell matrices", are directed using simple runes or glyphs inscribed in various materials.  Hopefully, one day I will be able to enable even Earth Ponies and Pegasi to utilize the types of magic which had for the longest time been limited to Unicorns.  Of course, in the meantime, my assistants and colleagues and I attempt to explore as many possibilities as possible to look for solutions in the most unlikely of places.  One example is the time spell matrix device, which incorporated chronomancy, temporal runes and various other spells to enable limited time travel.  We never used it to travel much more than a few minutes, and then only into the future to prevent paradoxes, and under EXTREMELY controlled conditions.  Of course, I cannot account for its uses AFTER it went missing..."

Controll? There is never control in MY studies! When i studied dragons, i didn't dress up like a dragon or anything. No. I walked up and asked them questions. My mane took a good 6 weeks to grow back, but i now know a lot more about dragons than i did going in.

well, Dragons are one thing to deal with, since most adults at least are impeccably honest.  But in other things control is often critical to experimentation, to ensure that it is indeed ONE factor which caused a change and not another.  In my field of study, at least, I have to make CERTAIN the runes are placed JUST so to ensure I do not end up with a small explosion at best, and perhaps even death at worst!

But explosions are half the fun! The other half is causing them. But in all honesty, a lot of my work is controlled, but sometimes you just gotta see what happens and throw caution into the wind.

Hullo there Professor!
You seem to delve into more practical academic pursuits than me, for I prefer the more epistemological pursuits such as history, sociology and philosophy. Half of which I do drunk on delicious top-notch one-of-a-kind cider! (Yes, I'm a cider drinker :D)
Hope to see you around once I become more active (after my exams) :)

"Their last venture in Ponyville unfortunately failed, but I hear their first batch was quite excellent!  The first several batches, in fact.  There was a small rivalry between them and the resident Apple family, however, and their last batches were a bit under-par as a result when they turned off quality control.  A shame, that, I hear they did pretty well in the next town.  Perhaps sometime they can come back for a visit, after gossip and such have cooled down."

I should hope. Last i heard Flam was missing and Flim is CEO of some company that makes gadgets for easy living. Apparently, he found a way to burn one letter and have it apear to its recipient, without the use of unicorn magic. Nice little gadget that.

Interesting, I should like to examine that; perhaps I can incorporate it into some of my existing spell matrices.  Ask him if he's interested in acquiring some of my spell matrices sometime; I patented them but am not particularly interested in actually going into business.  He would probably have much more uses for them.  And perhaps we might even be able to strike up a deal; he can keep 75% of the profit, since my wife Juniper makes a tidy sum of money already from woodworking, and I'm more interested in research.

Oh, and good luck finding your missing cousin!  Hope it goes well.
