-Name: Sparkle Chord

-Nickname(s): Sparkle, Miss Sparkle, Sparky, Sparks, SC.

-Age: 16

-Birthday: March 21st

-Gender: Mare

-Species: Crystal Unicorn (she lacks the crystal appearance due to the Time Spell used to send her into the future colliding with one of Sombra's Dark Spells)

-Residence: Apartment 102, 23rd floor of Manehattan Apartment Complex, Manehattan (formerly the Crystal Empire)

-Allegiance: Solar Empire (formerly Princess Amore)

-Mother: Melody Song (Unicorn, birth mother) Lavender Dusk (Pegasus, adopted mother)

-Father: Ruby Dust (Crystal Pony, birth father) Nebula Jazz (Unicorn, adopted father)

-Siblings: Golden Heart (Adopted younger sister)

-Bio: Sparkle grew up in the grand city of Manehattan, in a small apartment on the 23rd floor of the Manehattan Apartment Complex.  She was living with two ponies by the name of Lavender Dusk, and Nebula Jazz.  Lavender was an artist and aspiring Broadway performer, while Nebula was an astronomer.  The two of them had taken in Sparkle when she was just a foal, when they had found her on their doorstep.

Sparkle hadn't the slightest clue that she was adopted, and had spent her filly years simply living out life, and enjoying her time.  When she was young, her mother would take her to see many musicals, and would often play her favorite Swing records while at home.  Sparkle would often sing and dance to these records, and her parents discovered that she had a wonderful singing voice.

So, as soon as she was old enough, Sparkle's parents enrolled her in the Manehattan Academy for the Arts, in hopes of helping Sparkle use her talent for good, and helping her continue to improve her singing.

Sparkle never really understood why she had to go to school, and she wasn't very fond of it.  Although the music-related classes were fine, other things like math were very irritating to sit through.

Sparkle was also a bit of a social outcast at school, and her peers often made fun of her.  Since she wasn't able to use magic as of yet, and she acted a bit strange compared to everyone else, very few ponies wanted to be friends with her.  In hopes of finding a friend, Sparkle would often try to show off or impress her classmates, in an attempt to gain attention.  And although she did gain attention, it wasn't the kind she was looking for.

Her crazy antics almost always ended up in disaster, and this only led to her classmates ridiculing her even more.  However, a few ponies admired her courage to keep trying even when she had failed so many times, and these were the ponies that became her friends.

Having friends had made school life a bit easier, although it still felt like a chore.  Her two friends, Soprano Sonnet, and Harmonic Hues were aspiring musicians.  Soprano wanted to be a songwriter and singer, and Harmonic wanted to be an artist and "Stomp" musician.  Constantly hearing about her friends' aspirations had led Sparkle to begin thinking about what she wanted to do in life.

Sparkle spent quite some time simply pondering the question rather than actively pursuing something. She finally took action in seeking out a goal in life when her school's talent show came around.  Initially, Sparkle's entry was a failure, but after spending the weekend at her favorite café, and hearing a swing performance with magnificent vocal harmonies, Sparkle had decided to change her act last minute, and use her skills to her advantage.

Sparkle had only recently learned how to use her magic, and the first spell she had successfully used had been a Harmonization Spell; which allowed her to create up to 3-part harmonies with her voice.  She had gotten quite good at this spell since she first learned it, and had decided to use it to enhance her performance.

The talent show had been a huge success, and Sparkle's performance of a song by Frank Sinatrot (with added harmonies) had won her the prize for best musical performance.  Sparkle had actually earned her cutie mark during the performance, but didn't notice until after the Awards Ceremony.  But regardless, she had realized that singing was her special talent.

Once she had earned her cutie mark, Sparkle still took awhile to decide just exactly what genre of music she wanted to pursue.  But after some thinking, she eventually decided to become a singer in a Swing band, since she had always loved swing music, and most Swing bands had a lead singer.

So, from then on, Sparkle began her search for a Swing band to join up with.  Once she had completed school, she began performing at various Open Mic events around Manehattan, hoping that eventually someone would take interest in her voice.  And eventually, someone did.

One day, while Sparkle was out performing at an Open Mic event, the owner of a local café who was looking to hire entertainers found Sparkle to be quite talented, and asked her if she would like to perform a gig at his establishment in exchange for pay.  Sparkle happily accepted this offer, and to her surprise, many other offers to perform from other business owners soon followed after.

Eventually, Sparkle figured that until she found her swing band to perform with, she could make money by doing freelance work around the city.  Sparkle continued to perform at various cafés, shops and recreational centers in exchange for bits for quite some time, meeting many new friendly faces in the process.

Among these faces was a popular acoustic musician by the name of Rhythm N' Blues.  Sparkle had met Rhythm after one of her gigs at the Far-Afield Tavern (one of Rhythm's favorite hangouts.)  At the time, Rhythm had been searching for a female voice to sing with on his new album, and, impressed by Sparkle's talent, offered her the position.  Sparkle happily accepted this offer, and the two worked together to produce an album.

Rhythm's agent had been quite impressed with Sparkle's work on the album, and had offered her a record deal with Manehattan Records.  Although initially she was going to decline the offer, as she still wanted to find her swing band, the agent explained to her that he could help her find the band she was looking for, and proposed a contract that allowed her to continue doing freelance work until they found a swing band for her to join.

Liking the idea, Sparkle agreed to the contract, signing onto Manehattan Records as a part time solo artist until she and her new agent found the band she was looking for.  While working at the record company, Sparkle met an aspiring DJ named Harmony Beat, who had recently started working at Manehattan Records.  Sparkle and Harmony became close friends, and would often spend their free time hanging out together.

To this day, Sparkle is still searching for her dream band, recording songs under her new record label and continuing to do freelance performance work around the city.

-Height: 3'9" (assuming the average mare is 4'0")

-Weight: 106 lbs.

-Hair Color(s): Sapphire Blue (1453b3), Platinum (e5e4e2)

-Eye Color/shape: Large and round, Sandstorm (e9d03a) to Topaz (fce883) Yellow.

-Body Color: Diamond Blue (f0ffff)

Sparkle has a small build, and is slightly shorter than the average mare, standing at roughly 3'9".  (Assuming the average mare is 4'.  Sparkle is about the same height as Coco Pommel.)  She has a skinny body and appears to have longer legs in comparison to her body, and her horn is a bit thinner than average.

Her coat color is a Pale Diamond Blue, and her hair is sapphire blue with platinum highlights, of medium length, and is slightly curly.  She wears her mane down most of the time, but occasionally puts it into an updo.

Her most standout feature is her large, sparkling yellow eyes.  In addition to the 2 white highlights, there is also a small "sparkle" that is always present in her eye.  This "sparkle" changes in size depending on her mood, with it growing when she is excited or happy, and shrinking when she is sad, angry, or frightened.

When she is extremely happy, Sparkle will start to literally sparkle, and will give off little glitters.  This is due to the fact that she is part crystal pony.  Since crystal ponies use the love and light within them to power the crystal heart, the sparkles that Sparkle emits when she is happy is part of that energy.

-Attitude/Key Traits: Optimism - Sparkle is an incredibly optimistic pony, and always makes an effort to make the best of every situation.  She always tries to see the good in others, and usually gives ponies the benefit of the doubt.  Even in the toughest of times, she always ends up finding a silver lining.

Trust - Sparkle is incredibly trusting of others, and will naturally follow the lead of other ponies.  When in need of help, she has virtually no problem asking random strangers for assistance.  She also tends to naturally assume that ponies will tell the truth, which can sometimes end up backfiring for her.

Charisma - Sparkle is extremely charismatic, and many find her innocence and natural adorableness charming.  Many also find her voice very soothing.  She uses her natural charm and likeability to either get what she wants, or try and help soothe ponies who are upset.

Pure of heart - Sparkle thinks and acts with her heart as opposed to her head most of the time.  As such, she usually acts with kindness and sympathy towards people, and would rather save her friends than save herself.  Although she sometimes makes stupid decisions, in general she tends to act with more generosity and care towards other ponies than she would otherwise.

Caring - Sparkle is caring by nature, and is usually compelled to help out other ponies in need, even if they're complete strangers.  She tends to worry about those close to her, and doesn't like to put them in harm's way.  If she can't see an immediate way to help solve somepony's problem, she resorts to at least offering words of encouragement to help at least a little bit until she can find a solution.

Determined - Since Sparkle is so determined to prove that she is competent, she makes an effort to put 120% into what she does, and always sees a task through to the end, no matter how tough.  Although she can be hesitant to doing things she doesn't want to do, if she puts her mind to it, she can work through virtually any task.

Enthusiastic - Sparkle faces almost every situation with near-childlike enthusiasm.  She is very easily excited, and it is relatively simple to brighten her mood if she's feeling down.  Her near endless positivity and energy tends to rub off on other ponies, and she has a natural talent for getting other ponies as excited as she is about almost anything.

-Flaws: Obliviousness- Sparkle is generally oblivious by nature, and has a tendency not to notice when other ponies are annoyed or upset with her at first.  She also tends to miss out on social cues, and sometimes reacts to situations in ways others wouldn't expect to be normal.  However, Sparkle sometimes intentionally acts more oblivious than she actually is, especially when she is extremely upset or distressed, as she feels that being ignorant of whatever is distressing her will help her feel better.

Hasty - Sparkle is an incredibly straightforward and ambitious pony, and has a tendency not to think her actions through properly before going through with said actions.  She tends to follow a "leap first, look later" policy, and can be incredibly impatient when it comes to making a decision, especially when the situation is dire.  She is also quick to jump at new opportunities, and is very easily conned because of this, and her trusting nature.

Slow learner - When Sombra's dark magic interfered with the time travel spell used to send Sparkle into the future, in addition to removing her crystalline features and memories of the Crystal Empire, it also impaired her critical thinking abilities, as well as her ability to learn new things and pick up on information.  As such, Sparkle is a bit of a late bloomer, and can come off as somewhat ditzy or airheaded upon first meeting.  Once you get to know her however, you will learn that she is more clever than she appears, even though she can be a bit slow to things.

Naïve- Because Sparkle has never actually left her hometown of Manehattan before, she is incredibly naïve and inexperienced with the world.  In combination with her overly excitable and childlike nature, she appears to lack any sense of danger or fear when it comes to situations she hasn't encountered before.

Insecure - Sparkle has a severe lack of self-confidence, due to both her weak magic aura, and being made fun of as a filly.  Though she hides this feeling behind her optimism and go-getter attitude, inside she suffers from severe self doubt, and a feeling of inadequacy.  She feels that she's too weak to accomplish anything, and wants to prove to herself and others that she can achieve anything she sets her mind to.

Sensitive - Sparkle is relatively sensitive to teasing and negative comments directed towards her, due to her bad experiences with them as a filly.  She is rather quick to cry if her feelings are hurt, and tends to overreact in such situations.  She is also very open about telling ponies if something hurt her feelings, and isn't afraid to explain to them what they said or did that hurt her, as she believes that most of the time such things come about as a misunderstanding, and that talking it out will clear the air.

Easily lost - Sparkle has an absolutely horrible sense of direction, and tends to get lost very quickly in new places, or when distracted by something.  She has trouble knowing north from south, and tends to forget if she had just visited a spot if the scenery is all very similar.  It is unwise to let her lead the way if you end up lost somewhere.  Chances are it'll only make things worse.

-Likes: Romance - Sparkle is a hopeless romantic, and adores the idea of fairytale romances.  She truly believes that everypony can have a happily ever after, and believes that the best way to find romance is to wait for the right pony to come along, instead of going out and experimenting with multiple ponies.  She gets very excited when she witnesses a blossoming romance, and likes to try and help things along.

Practicing Magic - Because Sparkle's magic aura is weaker than that of the average unicorn, Sparkle enjoys practicing her spells in her free time, and tries to use her magic whenever she can in hopes of improving her skills.  However, her spells tend to backfire, and she has great difficulty performing difficult spells.

Music - Ever since she was a filly, Sparkle has loved to sing.  She would often sing along to her favorite records, and even make up her own songs.  In her free time, Sparkle enjoys listening to her favorite records, performing at Open Mic or Karaoke events, and going to see musical performances for inspiration.  Although her favorite genre is swing, Sparkle enjoys almost all forms of music, especially Pop and Acoustic music.

Traveling - Ever since she was young, Sparkle has always wanted to go on an adventure.  She's read all sorts of books about daring adventures across Equestria, and dreams of discovering treasure and seeing new sights for herself someday.

Sparkly/Shiny objects- As she is part Crystal Pony, Sparkle has always been attracted to shiny objects.  She doesn't really know why this is; she just thinks they're pretty.

-Dislikes: Being Teased - Sparkle is incredibly sensitive to teasing, due to her lack of self confidence, and lack of understanding that it's usually intended as a joke.  If she is teased, she will most likely get upset.

Feeling left out - Sparkle strongly dislikes being ignored by or not being included into a group discussion, or just a group in general.  She tends to feel as if she isn't good enough or smart enough to participate in the conversation, and will quickly grow disheartened if she is not acknowledged.

Getting up early - Sparkle is not a morning pony.  She never has been, and never will be.  If she is woken up early, she will enter a short period of grouchiness lethargic behavior.

Seeing others upset - Being the naturally sympathetic and caring pony she is, Sparkle hates seeing her friends hurt emotionally or physically.  If she sees a friend (or anyone) in distress, she will quickly rush to their side, and try to help them in any way she can.

Failure - Failing at tasks causes Sparkle to become rather upset, as it triggers her feelings of inadequacy and incompetence.  If she fails at a task given to her (especially an important one), she will enter a short period of depression, moping about by herself for anywhere from a couple hours to a couple days before recovering.

Homework - ...Do I even need to say anything?

-Fears/Phobias: Letting others down - Sparkle has always been afraid of letting other ponies down, due to her strong desire to please others and prove herself to be competent.  She absolutely hates seeing ponies disappointed in her, and is afraid that she will be cast aside and dismissed as useless if she fails to help others with whatever they need.

Pasta - Due to a rather traumatic incident as a filly, Sparkle has an irrational fear of pasta.  She strongly dislikes talking about it, and very few ponies know the origin of the fear to this day.

Being alone - When she was young, Sparkle feared being alone, as she was worried something might come out and attack her.  Although the irrational part of this fear has since faded, Sparkle still fears being alone, simply because she doesn't want to lose her friends, and doesn't trust herself to be able to function properly on her own.

-Favorite Food: Strawberry Shortcake.  She adores anything else with strawberries, and just strawberries themselves as well.

-Least Favorite Food: Pasta

-Favorite Song: The Way You Look Tonight - Frank Sinatrot

-Favorite Musical Artist: Frank Sinatrot

-Favorite Color: Ocean Blue and Sunset Yellow.

-Least Favorite Color: Bright Orange

-Favorite Book(s): Daring Do and the Forbidden City of the Clouds.

-Favorite Book Series: Daring Do Series.

-Favorite Flower: Rose (light pink)

-Favorite Movie: The Princess Bridle

-Favorite Movie/Book Genre: Romance, Fantasy

-Favorite Animal: Baby Ducklings.

-Favorite Place: Café Rose (located in Manehattan)

-Favorite Season: Spring

-Favorite Time of Day: Late afternoon

-Favorite Weather Condition: Snow

-Favorite Holiday: Hearts and Hooves Day

-Favorite Possession: A book of music-related spells her father had given to her when she was young, and her mother's Frank Sinatrot Records.  Also a sapphire musical note hairclip she received as a present for her 13th birthday.

-Quirks: Her voice tends to squeak and crack quite a bit, especially when excited or flustered.  Her ear twitches whenever she hears something that's far away.  Has a tendency to close her eyes when concentrating on something, and will laugh a lot when nervous or guilty.

-Trivia: Sparkle's favorite city is Canterlot; she's always loved the high-class society and magnificent architecture.  She is a huge fan of the Wonderbolts, and her favorite is Soarin (she had a fangirl crush on him as a filly.)  This fascination came from her sister, as the two share a love for the Wonderbolts after going to see an aerial show as fillies.  Sparkle is also obsessed with musicals.  This is largely because her mother used to take her to see them a lot.  Her favorite musical is Singing in the Rain.  Her taste in music is largely influenced by her mother, as her mother used to play swing records all the time when she was a filly, and Sparkle took a liking to the genre.  She's also terrible at cooking.

-Significant relationships: Keldeo (Coltfriend)

-Best friend(s): Keldeo, Jennifer (who is from an alternate timeline), Harmony Beat, Soprano Sonnet, Harmonic Hues, Rhythm N' Blues, Scarlet Ink, Galacto Treat, Shadow Fire.

-Worst enemy: Extra Homework.

-Hobbies: When she's not breaking out into song, eating sweets or trying out new spells, Sparkle greatly enjoys reading adventure stories and fairytales, and watching the sunset.

-Occupation: Freelance performer and part-time musician at Manehattan Records.

-Hopes and Dreams: To eventually join a swing band, and create music together.  She also wants to go out into the world and explore new things.

-Cutie Mark: A musical staff with 3 colored notes and sparkles: to symbolize her love of music and ability to create three-part harmonies with only one voice using her magic.

-Abilities/Talents: She has Perfect Pitch, and also has super hearing, allowing her to hear things other ponies can't normally hear, as well as things that are far away, unfortunately, this means her hearing is rather sensitive, and simple sounds like squeaks and loud noises bug her immensely.

-Magic: Sparkle's magic is on the lower end of the unicorn spectrum.  As such, she has difficulty performing higher-level spells.

Harmonization Spell: Sparkle's signature spell.  This spell allows the user to create up to 3-part harmonies with only one voice via the use of magic to manipulate the vocal chords and the sound waves as they come in contact with the air.  Since this is the spell Sparkle performs best, she is able to go further with the spell than other ponies using it can, being able to create up to 5-part harmonies with the spell, as well as being able to adjust the harmonies she creates for new songs, whereas under normal circumstances, the spell only allows for harmonization with pre-established songs.  Mastering this took quite a bit of practice however, and Sparkle still hasn't perfected the spell.  This spell can also be referred to as the Harmony Spell for short.

Decibel Adjustment Spell: Sparkle can use her magic to alter the volume levels of sound waves.

Voice Alteration Spell: Can be used to alter the pitch, sound, speed, and inflections of a pony's voice.

Voice Replication Spell: an alternate version of the Voice Alteration spell.  This spell can be used to adjust the users voice to sound identical to anypony's voice.  The user can only copy voices they have heard though.

Pitch Pipe: Sparkle can use her magic in combination with her perfect pitch to act as a sort of pitch pipe.  She can recreate any note with her magic by altering the sound vibrations in the air to the correct pitch.

Levitation: Sparkle can perform levitation spells as well.  She uses them for a wide range of things, such as writing, as well as grabbing and moving various objects.  Sparkle cant lift heavy objects with this spell however, since her magic aura is somewhat unstable. (Heavy objects meaning objects exceeding 50 pounds).

Illumination Spell: Sparkle can perform basic illumination spells, for when she is in a dark area, or if the power goes out.  So her horn can basically be used as a flashlight. (She likes to call this spell; The Flashlight Spell.)

Healing Spell: Sparkle has access to basic healing magic, but since healing magic is a highly difficult spell (and her magic aura is considered to be on the weaker end of the spectrum) Sparkle cant exactly perform this spell correctly.  Instead of just healing ponies, it actually drains some of her own life energy as well when she uses it, and she basically 'takes the injury onto herself.' For example, if a pony had a cut on their left hoof, and Sparkle were to use the spell to heal it, the cut would be healed, but it would be on her left hoof instead.  In addition, Sparkle can't use the spell to cure illnesses, only physical injuries.  She can't use it to revive ponies, and because of the damage it does to her, she can't do massive or large physical injuries, only smaller ones like cuts or scratches.  She also cannot use it to heal herself, due to the paradoxical way the spell is set up (every time she uses it she takes the injury onto herself, thus using the spell on herself would do nothing.) the spell also gives her a massive headache when she uses it, since it is so difficult, so Sparkle has learned to not use this spell often.

In addition to these, Sparkle can also perform basic conjuring spells, but she hasn't practiced them since grade school, so she isn't very good at it.

This portion of the bio is dedicated to explaining some of Sparkle's genetic traits.  Everything here is based on 2 theories.  One from DeviantArt, and one from a YouTube Video, with some of my own added elements.  Theories linked below:

DeviantArt: (by TadStone)

YouTube: (by DragonTrainer201)

In addition to these 2 theories, I have added a few elements:

    1.   Since Sparkle Chord is a Crystal Unicorn, I have added a gene for Crystal Ponies.  This gene is categorized as an appearance trait rather than a race, and follows the rules of TadStone's theory. (C= blocker allele (no crystal) c= developing allele (crystal)

    2.   For the RGB model used in DragonTrainer201's video, I have added that the R, G, and B alleles are either dominant or recessive based on the idea that: (in percentage) 50% and up: Dominant. 49% or below: Recessive.

Using this information, Sparkle's genetic makeup is as follows:

Basic traits:

Race: (Unicorn) PPuu

Left/Right-Hoofed?: rr (Left-Hoofed)

Crystal: (Yes) cc [pre-Sombra spell], Cc [post-Sombra spell. Note: Sombra's spell altered Sparkle's genetic traits to supposedly "remove" her crystalline appearance and remove her memories of the empire.  What happened to her traits was that her genetic code was altered to add a blocker allele for the Crystal trait, which would be reverted to the developing allele once the spell is broken.]

Eye Color: RGb (R: 97%, G: 91%, b: 36%)

Coat Color: RGB (alt: BGR) (R: 94%, G: 100%, B: 100%)

Mane Color: rgB (r: 8%, g: 33%, B: 70%)

Overall Genetic Code: PPuucc (with spell: PPuuCc)
-Name: Soprano Sonnet

-Nickname(s): Soprano, Sonnet

-Age: 17

-Gender: Mare

-Species: Earth Pony

-Residence: Fillydelphia (former) Manehattan (current)

-Allegiance: Solar Empire

-Mother: Cherry Cordial (Unicorn)

-Father: Chocola Cream (Earth Pony) (Owner of Horshey's Chocolate)

-Siblings?: N/A

-Bio: Soprano's father is the owner of the world-famous Horshey's Chocolate.  The name had been in her family for years, and the oldest child always inherited the company.  Because of this, Soprano grew up in a very rich environment, always pampered by her parents and surrounded by the scent of chocolate.  When she was young, her parents would often take her to the amusement park which her family owned.  It was during one of these trips that she met Galacto, the son of a couple who worked closely with her family.

As soon as she met eyes with the colt, she was instantly infatuated with him, and desired to be with him for the rest of her life.  So, at the request of their daughter, Soprano's parents arranged for the two families to meet more often, so Sonnet could spend time with her newfound lover.

The two ponies practically grew up together, falling more and more in love as time went on.  --Well, Soprano did anyways.  Galacto simply grew to hate the mare over time.  However, their one-sided romance was soon torn apart, as Sonnet's father had been called to supervise the Manehattan branch of his company, which meant Soprano would have to move.

So, much to her dismay (and Galacto's delight,) Soprano moved with her family to Manehattan, settling into a nice mansion just a few blocks away from the company.

Soprano was very young when she moved, and as such, was initially very shy to socializing with others.  So, in hopes of allowing their filly to socialize more, Soprano's parents decided to enroll her in school.

Initially, her parents wanted to enroll her in a business school, so she could prepare to inherit the family business someday, but Soprano showed great disinterest in this, so her parents opted to look for another option instead.

Noticing that their filly had a talent for singing, Soprano's parents soon decided to enroll her into the Manehattan Academy for the Arts, since she seemed to be interested in music.  So, as soon as she was able to, Soprano began attending the academy to study music.

Soprano became the star student at the Manehattan Academy for the Arts, excelling in all her classes.  She had a wonderful talent for singing, but hated showing it off, as she feared that ponies would neglect her for being so talented.  She didn't grow more confident in her abilities until she met a young filly by the name of Sparkle Chord.
Sparkle's determination to be noticed by her peers in spite of being embarrassed over and over inspired Soprano, and from then on she decided to try to make herself more confident.  Eventually she and Sparkle became close friends, and were later joined by Harmonic Hues.
Over the years, the three fillies grew to be very close friends.  And between the confidence and energy of her two friends, Soprano's confidence and ego soon returned to her, and by the time she was 14, she was back to her normal self, as opposed to a shy filly.  Even after the three mares graduated from school, they still stayed in touch, hanging out regularly.

Unfortunately for Soprano, she was unable to find any jobs in the music industry, so she decided to go back to the family business instead.  So, she went back to school for business, and was trained in company management, economics, and chocolatiering.

-Attitude: Cunning, deceptive and clever, Soprano is an uptight elitist snob who hates fraternizing with the lower class.  She acts a lot like a princess, and thinks that everyone should treat her as such.  She has a taste for high class events and ritzy things, and prefers to hang out where the rich folks are.  In spite of her generally classy and polite personality around friends and family members, she can be quite a bit of a brat sometimes, and will throw a hissy fit if she doesn't get what she wants.  Although, usually she has one way or another  of getting exactly what she wants, when she wants.  She's got a massive ego, which can be silent but deadly.  Although she doesn't normally speak it around her friends, she thinks of herself as a perfect mare with all the talent in the world.  And although she does have a talent for singing and a knack for business smarts, her parents tended to overpraise her for her talents as a filly, which gave her much more confidence than she should really have.  Although she can be a control freak, a snob, and an ego-maniac, she was brought up with impeccable manners, which she normally uses around the majority of people, giving the illusion that she's an extremely sweet mare.  But don't let her sweetness fool you, because if you tick her off, you'll see her true colors full force.  When it comes to romance, Soprano is a huge flirt, and extremely obsessive.  Her flirting is extremely obvious and sometimes creepy, which generally turns stallions away from her.  Aside from a few short phases, she's had her eye on one particular colt since she was 6, and she hasn't given up yet, even though he's shown absolutely no interest in her.

-Least Favorite Color: Yellow

-Least Favorite Food: Bananas

-Bio: Harmonic grew up in the poor area of Bronclyn.  Her mother and father both worked at a factory in the Haypacking District of Manehattan, and as a result, their family had a hard time getting by.  Because of this, Harmonic started working at a young age.  At first she had started working delivering newspapers for Ponitzer's paper, the Manehattan World.  Thanks to this job, Harmonic learned her way around the city pretty well, and knew almost everyone who lived there.  During her daily routes, she had met a pony who's children were attending the Manehattan Academy for the Arts.  The mention of this school had peaked Harmony's interests, and after doing some research, she asked her parents if she could attend the school.  Unfortunately, her parents couldn't afford to send her to the academy at the time, and they told her that she would have to wait until she could afford to at least partially pay for her schooling herself.  So, as soon as she was old enough, Harmonic got a job working at Café Rose, which paid much better than her old job.  And eventually, she was able to save up enough money to attend the school.  Harmonic had some trouble with her academic classes, since she hadn't had much prior schooling.  However, she always worked hard, and had excelled in her music and art classes.  She had shown a knack for rhythm, and had won an award for most creative musical performance during a talent show in her third year.  However, in spite of her success, Harmonic didn't have many friends.  Most of the ponies had picked on her for being a crossbreed, or exceptionally poor.  However, there were 2 ponies who had been kind to her.  The first to befriend her had been a unicorn by the name of Sparkle Chord, who had a reputation for being the school's biggest laughing stock.  But oddly enough, she didn't seem to care all that much.  Finding much in common with the mare, Harmonic and Sparkle quickly became close friends.  Later on they had met Soprano Sonnet, who was one of the school's valedictorians, but hadn't many friends due to her antisocial nature.  The three of them had spent lots of time together, and Sparkle had often come to visit Harmonic at her job, since Café Rose was her favorite Café.  Even after she had finished school, Harmonic continued to work at the café, as she needed to support her family.  Although she dreamed of a life of music and adventure, her parents wanted her to get a stable job (and a rich husband,) so that she could live a comfortable life in the future.

-Attitude: Harmonic is a tough, rebellious and clever pony.  Due to her living in a poor section of Bronclyn, she has developed many street smarts, and knows her way around the city pretty well.  She is very proud of her rich heritage, and loves the story of her great grandparents coming to Manehattan after escaping captivity in another country.  She is known to be a bit uncouth, and doesn't have the best manners.  Although she initially comes off as a bit intimidating and cold, she's actually very friendly once you get to know her.  She is also extremely prideful, and has a bit of an ego to her.

-Likes: Stomp music, Art, Exploring the city at night, Café Rose, Her little brothers

-Dislikes: Someone insulting her family, having her art and music confiscated, Pickles

-Fears/Phobias: Never getting anywhere in life, losing those close to her, rats

-Favorite Color: Burgundy

-Favorite Food: Chocolate-Chip Cookies

-Favorite Music Genre: Stomp

-Favorite Story Genre: Adventure

-Least Favorite Color: Persimmon

-Least Favorite Food: Pickles

-Least Favorite Music Genre: Classical

-Least Favorite Story Genre: Dystopia

-Flaws: Due to being mocked for being a crossbreed as a filly, Harmonic has become very aggressive and defensive over time, and has some anger issues.  She also doesn't take insults to her family well, and has resorted to physically hurting ponies who verbally attack her family.  Her ego can also cause her to lose sight of how her friends are feeling, and she sometimes hurts them without meaning to.  This goes especially so for Sparkle, who lacks self-confidence.  Harmonic can also come off as insensitive at times, and she's terrible at comforting others.

-Significant relationships?: N/A
-Best friend(s): Soprano Sonnet, Sparkle Chord
-Worst enemy:
-Hobbies: playing music, painting, wandering the city at night.
-Occupation: Waitress at Café Rose (part time)

-Cutie Mark: A pair of drumsticks

-Abilities/Talents: She is quite skilled at "Stomp" music, and rhythm.  She can use almost any everyday item as an instrument, from spoons to garbage cans.  She is also a skilled artist, and enjoys painting impressionist works in her free time.  She also knows quite a bit about aerodynamics and flight, since her father and two brothers have wings, although she does not.
-Name: Arctic Opal
-Nickname(s): The Ice Mage of the Crystal Mountains, Snowflake Mage, Opal (only by her fiancé, and close family or friends), Mage, Snow Queen.
-Age: 23
-Gender: Mare
-Species: Unicorn
-Residence: Luna Bay(birthplace) Ice Cave in the Crystal Mountains(current)
-Allegiance: Her family was loyal to princess Luna, but she now lives under her own jurisdiction

-Mother: Wishful Legend (Unicorn)
-Father: Clashing Dusk (Batpony)
-Siblings: N/A
-Bio: She was born in a small village on Luna Bay, at midnight during a massive snowstorm.  At her birth, she received a navy blue cloak with a magic opal gem that closed it.  She didn't know it yet, but this gem had magical powers inside it.  Her father was in the lunar guard, and was often away from home.  As a result, Arctic Opal was mostly raised by her mother.  Her mother was a powerful elemental mage amongst the villagers, and she taught Opal how to use her magic.  After many years of training in elemental magic, she discovered that her strongest element was ice, so she continued her training in that field of magic.  A few years later, she met a Batpony stallion named Shielded Moon, who was training to be a member of the Lunar Guard.  Opal became very fond of this stallion over time, and he shared her affections.  A few months later, Shielded Moon asked Opal to be his marefriend, to which she happily accepted.  The two enjoyed a wonderful, peaceful romance for 3 years, and one day, on a sunny spring morning, he finally proposed to her.  The two were to be married a month later, but before that day came, Shielded Moon was called into battle, and had to leave for Canterlot immediately.  It was many weeks of waiting and worry for Opal, until she received the news that her fiancé was killed in battle.  She was devastated, and any good that may have been in her at the time was destroyed.  So she did what anypony with a passionate spirit such as hers would do: she ran away, taking the cloak with her. She made a home deep into the Crystal Mountains, inside an ice cave.  While she was there, she also befriended a yeti, and made it her pet.  Arctic Opal continued to live in the mountains, claiming them as her own.  When ponies would pass through her domain, she would have her yeti capture them, and if they didn't have a good enough reason for trespassing, she would freeze them, and put them in her ice sculpture collection.  This began with thieves and pirates, who wanted the magic gem from her cloak, but eventually she became very cynical and untrusting, and never believed anypony's stories, as many had lied to her to try to steal her cloak or kill her.

-Attitude: Cynical, Hostile, Icy, Manipulative, Can detect when somepony is lying, Untrusting, Passionate, Sucker for romance, Speaks poetically when talking about romance.
-Likes: Ice, Snow, The cold, Her magic cloak, Her pet yeti, Romance.
-Dislikes: Heat, Liars, Thieves, Anyone who threatens her, Trespassers, Ice Puns.
-Fears/Phobias: She used to be afraid of the dark as a filly, but many years of facing monsters and thieves have removed her sense of fear altogether.

-Flaws: She is a bit too cynical for her own good, and has trouble trusting others.  She is also a bit morally twisted, as she will freeze anypony she doesn't like and put them in her sculpture collection (which is made entirely of frozen ponies) and actually enjoys it.  She also collects ponies, which is pretty creepy.

-Significant relationships?: Shielded moon (Fiancé, was killed in battle)
-Best friend(s): her pet yeti.
-Worst enemy: Whoever killed her Fiancé--she still seeks revenge on this unknown soldier.
-Hobbies: Collecting frozen ponies, Practicing her ice magic, Reading romance novels.
-Occupation: N/A

-Cutie Mark: Unknown(obscured by her cloak, which she always wears)

-Abilities/Talents: She is a skilled Ice Mage, and has extremely powerful ice magic, strong enough to freeze a small lake completely.  She uses these powers to protect her domain and freeze trespassers.  She also likes to create tiny ice castles in her free time.
