Adventures as a royal guard(ooc)

What sort of plot do we want to do though? It could be anything capitalizing on the theme of the RP or a character story arc for somebody.

There could be a crisis, something along the lines of the events of the "Dragonshy" episode in which something threatens to harm Equestria if it's not dealt with.

There could also be a more direct threat to deal with such as a villain or force of enemies, band of brigands or possible outbreak of creatures.

Considering the somewhat poor quality of observation of the guards (there's at least two changelings who are able to roam about without most guards noticing), there could be a more sinister figure skulking about the base and causing trouble.

True, though one of them, Chibalt, at least has the excuse of being extremely well practiced in hiding himself, not to mention his disguise is different from most other changelings, dispels and such doesn't work on it, Zappy...... well, I'm surprised the guards haven't noticed yet, or that they somehow yet remain unaware of Chibalt being a changeling, or there being a changeling on the base at all, I think(hope) the NPC guards on the base aren't useless to the point of panicking due to a rabbit(!?) stampede though, that would seem a bit too silly, they should at least be compotent.

I just assume that the guards aren't on...well, guard because this is their base and they feel more at home and safe here than anywhere else.

We could have a character arc involving the changelings, which could entail a number of things.

Things such as the majority of ponies not trusting them, a feud between those who want to help and welcome the changelings against those who would rather jail them.

Perhaps an event happens, like a smaller changeling incursion attempting to snatch up ponies for their own uses and Zappy and Chibalt are accused as spies.

Ideas we have so far:

1) Threat to Equestria
2) A Big Bad/villain group
3) Something involving the changelings
4) A character arc inolving one or more of the characters in the RP

I'm going to think on it a while, but I'm leaning towards character arcs right now.

Character arc sounds reasonable, something with the changelings could also work however, pretty much right after he was revealed in the attack on the base he started helping ponies, improvising and generally helping with any injuries he could. That would likely cause a fair amount of confusion and rumors to fly about. Threat to equestria is a little bit finnicky in my opinion, it would have to be either something calling in all guards in the area or be something that only the guards on the base can react in time to.

Villain/villain group could be neat, though I'm not sure how that'd be done myself, either you could have a small group of villains capable of tangling with a guard base or in posession of some kind of ability or item to enable them to disable most of the base, not to mention they could be the plotting kind too, though that could be complicated to make happen when multiple people here seem to do whatever they feel like. In the case of a single villain, well, you could go with the simple one-man/pony army that has enough power to single-handedly take out/over an entire royal guard base if you're thinking of the very obvious, evil-like villains.

I've been planning an arc for my character Match Stick for a while in which he swears his allegiance to the entity that has been helping him throughout his life by tutoring him and the like in his sleep, though I wanted the corruption aspect to take a bit longer than it has for him to fall from grace and become the usurping abomination that is a tainted. I have begun the process though with his recent defeat, so I could turn it into something a little later on. In the mean time however I'd really like to start capitalizing on his mana well ability which allows him to let other unicorns use his mana pool to empower their spells and help equalize Matches own power. This may lead to a sub-plot where the higher-ups try to weaponize Match which leads to his tainting...

(sorry for the word wall, had a lot on my mind to say about the subject.)

No, no you don't. He becomes unredeemable and unforgivable through his actions and/or attempted actions.

(But if you guys would prefer the whole "Orbital Friendship Cannon of Villain Redeeming", then I'm open to discussion)

Also, I don't have the arc rigorously planned out, hoping to instead incorporate it into the current "going-on's" before the reveal and subsequent beginning of another RP thread made solely for that story arc that would eventually loop back into the Royal Guard RP. But if you guys wan't to accelerate everything Match'll need to be placed into a situation where he feels hopeless and friendless. (Like; defeating a powerful NPC using Dark magic, facing a powerful NPC that he can't beat, failing everypony in such a way that he becomes outcast (Probably to do with that Dark Magic I was talking about earlier), or finally failing to control his magic in such a way as to seriously injure one of his friends (Possibly due to an intervention by the entity)).

If you would prefer the slightly more drawn out version that shows his rising levels of corruption, they'll need to be at least one major event that would push Match to his limits.
