Soaring Bolt "New OC Design"

Soaring Bolt:

Appearance: Purple Eyes, sky blue fur, blue and grayish-black hair

Cutiemark: Just a simple Lightning Bolt

Likes: Flying, DJing, Drawing, and Playing Various Instruments such as the Violin, Guitar, Drums, and the Piano

Dislikes: Filthy Rich, and other Evil Doer Ponies!

Location: Ponyville, and Cloudsdale.

Story:  Soaring Bolt was born and raised in Cloudsdale.  Soaring had seen the Wonderbolts Airshow and he was inspired by the flying.  Soon Soaring started to soar high and got his cutie mark.  Soaring also started to like another topic which is art and music.  Soaring started to learn how to play the Violin, and got himself a job as partners with Octavia.  Soaring also learned the Guitar, Drums, and the Piano in which he also worked with DJ Pon-3(Vinyl Scratch) and Octavia.  Besides Soaring's music career, he attended the Wonderbolts academy, and was also renowned as one of the best, so he was promoted to Captain and had permission to establish the 14th Recon Equestrian Royal Air Force.  Soaring trained his Pegasus trainees on how to assault and ambush, guerrilla warfare style, but in the clouds.

There's a thing that really irks me, though. How does 'soaring high' give him a lightning bolt as his cutie mark. It doesn't seem to add up.

Its one of Soaring's destiny.  Its for him to discover flight, like how Rainbow Dash did.

Rainbow Dash got her cutie mark from doing a Sonic Rainboom, so her rainbowy cutie mark makes sense to some extent.

However, I can't seem to find a connection with lightning/electricity and flight...

Well, I just added the lightning bolt just to look cool.  Maybe Soaring Bolt is tough and all, and also he is in the Equestrian Air Force?  I mean, the Wonderbolt team had lightning bolts as cutie marks so I decided to have mine a lightning bolt.  But its stated that Soaring Bolt got his cutie mark by just flying fast and agile that he got his cutie mark.

Well, if he's quick as lightning or good with lightning clouds, either will work.

Also, I guess if he's an electrical warning sign. That also would do it.

Technically the Wonderbolts don't have lightning bolts as their cutie mark, it's only a design on their wonderbolt suit.

But, your only explanation for the lightning bolt cutie mark is "just to look cool"? Ehh... Not a very good reason in my opinion. Again, I fail to see how 'soaring high' connects to being quick as lightning or whatever. After all, you wrote "Soaring started to soar high and got his cutie mark", not "Soaring flew fast and got his cutie mark."
