Yeah I've read the post that they are continuing it. It would've been dumb in my opinon to cancel a great show just because it's creator isn't around. Plus he wasn't alone who made the show a reality. I'm in no way worried that it will end or it will be bad or antyhing of the sort. I was just curious if they had news when they will release the new volume. I guess they haven't said anything yet.

Just because someone makes an alicorn OC it doesn't mean their OC is overpowered or a Mary Sue, by definition a Mary Sue is a character perfect in every way and aspect. Just because somepony has flying and magic that does not make them OP or perfect. The simple reason being it's all in the character development. For instance what if that alicorn OC was never special with their magic what if their magic just consisted of levitation and basic unicorn ability while their real talent was flying or some other skill unrelated to their race.

But if the journal of the two sisters is any merit its history on alicorns is that they're a race with very few members left Luna and Celestia were some of the few natural born alicorns according to that not some ascended all powerful beings the fandom likes to make them out to be. Granted the journal of the two sisters was officially written by the writers of the show but they have neither claimed it to be non canon or canon. In the diary Luna and Celestia also had to train their magic. They didn't start as an all powerful character even they had trouble. They also had to win over the 3 races so that they would be willing to accept them as guardians of their nation. Natural born alicorns are long lived according to that book which is why Celestia and Luna are still young after all those years.

Then it's not canon. Many people didn't want to accept Alicorn as the name of the species and said it wasn't canon until the episode about the Alicorn amulet.

If the season 4 finale taught us anything, it's that the magic of a single alicorn is as powerful as the magic of approximately 1/4 of Equestria's population plus 1/4 of Discord's magic.

Before or after the moment where the element of magic and already powerful unicorn on her own got the combined magic power of three mainly magic orientated alicorns? As I see it Cadence, Celestia and Luna have developed mainly if not only their magic for all those years and hence they are powerful. You don't see them use their wings for more than positioning or levitating.

Still, they should at least look at other options, rather than just jumping to "My OC is an alicorn!!! " And if they still want to make an alicorn, okay, but first, think about whether or not there's actually a reason for the OC to be an alicorn.

You can make an OC special without giving them a special race.
I have an earth pony OC who's deaf. Her talent is glass crafting because she can focus more intently on the glass without anything like sound distracting her.

You just need a little creativity.
And please don't make a zebra crystal bat pony alicorn. Making a super hybrid doesn't make your OC more special. It just makes them a jumbled mess. It's like those werewolf vampire angel demon OCs. Though, not as bad, considering being an angel/demon hybrid is kind of contradictory.

What if I told you I made the OC for fun without regards for the pony fandom? Or do you say  should change her because X amount of people are prejudice against alicorns?
Maybe I didn't make her that race because I've known for a fact that it was 100% powerful, mary sue and all that jazz. It was on the same field as the other races, completely normal hybrid. I didn't know the fandom which encouraged at the time to accept people regardless of age, gender, taste would get so over worked up about a horn and a pair of wings.
Are you saying that people with Alicorn OCs didn't put creativity when making their OCs and/or incapable of doing so if the character in question is an alicorn?

The fact that everybody thinks alicorn oc = bad oc. Sure it has merit but doesn't mean that every such OC falls into the stereotype. Next thing you'll tell me is that people outside little girls like MLP....oh wait.

Fun Fact: Most people hated when Cadence was revealed as alicorn. Why? Solely because of the race and not because of the character and it destroyed most people's headcanon. Even after Cadence was revealed to be well designed and good people still hated Twilight's ascencion because Alicorn. Honestly you people should stop being so narrow minded.

If you have the initial investment I'd suggest Guild Wars 2. You have to buy the game, but after that it's free, no monthly fee or anything. By far the best F2P MMO out there.

It's not a F2P game but a B2P. Plus I don't think it fits with OP l's requirements of no downloading and being a social MMO.

Walmart keeps having, like, 3 or 4, maybe 5 if we're lucky, cashiers on duty.
I somehow doubt that cashiers will be completely eliminated, since some people can't do self-checkout, such as the physically disabled, and not every physically disabled person has someone who can go to the store with them.

I just now thought of how both checkout options are pretty bad for little people. Maybe not so much those who are 4'11" and such, but those who are even shorter. How are they supposed to put their stuff on the conveyer belt? Do cashiers call over an employee to help?

*Sigh* Everything is built for average size people. I'm only 1 inch away from the max height of a little person, which is 4'11", and some things are too tall or too high for me. There was a window I had to go to when getting set up for college where I had to stand on my toes just to see the surface of the counter.

It's actually gotten to the point where I stand on my toes without realizing I'm doing it. I'm just so used to having to stand on my toes when I reach for something above my head. Grace made me realize that one day, when she giggled that I was on my toes.

Now I'm quite curious how tall you are compared to me.  Yeah I know you say how tall you are in inches but I'm bad at visualising with inches (or meters for that matter).

If your looking for a Sci-fy RP.... that will only work in the RPers in the RP KEEP the feeling of Sci-fy. Trust me on that.

Pony Cosmology? That thing died because lack of RPers. The fun thing is that that ting is still in both top 10 topic lists if you look at the stats.
But it didn't had anything to do with space station/ships if you exclude that one time a Tech god made them.

I think this is a melodramatic way of saying that throwing hot water on a frozen window can crack it. Not a good idea.

But wasn't he saying about frozen doors? As in the seals are frozen and the door can't be opened? Regardless, warm water still works without consequences if you don't have special store bought defrosting spray.
