Okay, explain the lack of sales MLP was making then during the 1990s? Huh. Besides, toy franchises are dyeing out because of the stupid technology like iPads. Most of the sales anyway were probably from grown men and women that are still fans of MLP and Transformers. No child these days would play these toys. The 2020s will be worse.

I have never met anyone who went so out of their way to mis-represent an argument as much as you have just now without first realizing the differences between the terribly comparison you just tried to make. You didn't prove anything. Not only did you attempt to re-direct the argument to an irrelevant comparison, but you then proceed to ignore the fact growth exists. The original target demographic still overpowers us in terms of viewership.

It's like you're going out of your way to be edgy and cynical and to try and prove your point where it doesn't exist.

As a note, I am just going to add that MLP is one of Hasbro's fastest growing brands over the course of ten years.



When a brand has a 40%+ rate of growth you tend to listen. Likewise for the the year 2013 MLP was a contributing factor for over a billion dollars worth of growth for their girl's sector (Reported here). Likewise continuing to increase 20% by the first quarter of 2014. And then by 10% by the second.

So the brand dying? Gods no. It's as alive as it has been, if not more. It's still growing, despite the slump in growth rate.

Because nobody would use the standard races. And we don't know as much about other races compared to the normal ponies.

So let me get this straight. If all the races of ponies were available, no one would use the 3 main races because everypony would be other races and the fact that most ponies in Equestria except royalty are alicorns and that Changelings are considered bad are just some of the reasons for not having these races in LOE. I understand now since your basically a normal, typical pony in LOE going to adventures and stuff similar to the Mane 6.

Everyone knows best pones are Zebras, but no one wants to be Detrot. In conclusion: ban Zebras.

Well, the point is that I'm sure Hasbro is doing something to prevent having a bad image put on them about their pony franchise. Not to mention that the world has no understanding about the fact that anyone can enjoy ponies. They just segregate them to little girls and little girls only, just because their pastel colored ponies that fly around and do magic! Man, do I hate this world. I'm a male BTW and I love all generations of MLP and Filly as well.

The brony community is a pretty big demographic for them to directly alienate. If you read the thread at all past the OP then you'd probably find that the current conclusion that this was likely a move made on behalf of the site itself and not direct responsibility of Hasbro. If it was we would be hearing a lot more of the "brony" ban. But it's died out now and we've moved on to the next taste of drama: Rainbow Rocks.

Per the takedowns: they could be many, many levels more aggressive in takedown notices than they have been. There's only been major casualties with JanAnimations. Even Rainbow Dash Presents has found an applicable work-around to keep on with some of their own parody series. But the amount of action they could take is very light duty compared to companies like Capcom or Sony I believe, who just straight up nuke anything with their name that they don't control, or anything that even passingly mentions one of their brands.

Hasbro's actions in the takedown department is alligned more or less with them making a small effort to look like they're protecting their trademark so they don't lose it. If they don't respond to cited cases then under law they risk loosing trademarks and MLP enters the public domain. Hasbro doesn't want that. At the same time they don't want to alienate people - especially us - over minor infractions. If something gets public lime-light then they'll move in on it.

Otherwise, Fighting is Magic would be have been dead a lot earlier and before Based Overlord Faust moved to save the project with llama OCs.


And besides, imagine the level of awkward if they even publicly recognize PalComix exists.

The most tanky of heroes for Pony Fortress.

Sure, Big Mac technically has more health. But he moves at a snails pace. Where as Celly is maybe just over the speed of a running medic and can take out most classes in two punches and her special kills everything, or ties everyone on the other team to a dispenser or the spawn room giving her free range to crit-punch stragglers and her team to make progress.

It's like getting you sphincter opened up with hot irons. So best to keep a mark for death and Natascha heavy on hand to break her even more so than the other heroes. And Luna too.

There are a few hero classes that are their trope character-class association. Applejack, Fluttershy, Rarity, Chryssy, and Dash. But beyond those the class association is broken in favor of putting out a team-alligned Hale with their own unique traits more closely related to their character than a shoe-horned class-character association.

These being:
Twilight is "magic" based. Her standard taunts are that of the snipers but she can case "magic" in the form of the Pomson to drain cloak, uber charge, and rival hero ultimates. She is basically the anti-hero hero class and can prevent the other team's hero from outright using their ultimate or delaying its casting. Her ultimate reveals and M4D's all enemy players.

Big Macintosh is the punch heavy. He deals a lot of damage and has ungodly health. Otherwise he moves slow. He only speeds up when he uses his ultimate. Otherwise he gives defensive boosts to himself and the team and maybe temporarily stuns players

Trixie is sort of anti-player given she's pyro based. It's about all she's good for. She's the bane of medics. Ultimate stuns the enemy for a bit and inflicts fire damage over time and not even the Chargin' Targe or being Pyro can save you. She's otherwise fast.

Pinkie Pie jumps around a lot and punches people with the Holiday punch. Same effects as the vanilla set on normal players. So for the most part she can more reliably kill you by gumba-stomp or taunt kill during a laugh. On taunt she's temporarily equipped with a limited-shot Party Canon with massive splash damage and x10 crit damage. Also blistering projectile speed. It's basically point-and-click death.

Celestia and Luna are like Big Mac.

Cherilee's a Fluttershy re-skin.

Mare-Do-Well is a Trixie reskin.

And if I'm forgetting anyone else it's because I have not seen them.


DragonLight I think doesn't want to pander too much to character expectations. So he frankly doesn't care if there's no sniper heroes. Or heroes whose association with sniper goes as far as vanilla taunting. He'd much rather spawn fifty Monoculus on you and watch the server go into panic mode.

Three months ago I finished those mlp rigs, and I tried to animate them. The result was bad...

I realized that my models were horrible. So I decided to redo everything from scratch.

This time I embraced the cartoony style of the show and everything is looking much better. Here's my first animation test with the new rig:

Hasbro has done this before with JanAnimation's Buttons Adventures which was taken off YouTube several months ago. I'm certain that they are trying to get the right to the word "Brony" only because the Bronies are a big part of MLP's total success since 2010's reboot of the series. Then again, maybe they are trying to stop the Bronies in order to prevent anymore controversy over adult men liking ponies. I think a lot of this is because of parents being concerned over the fact that their little girl's favorite cartoon is being loved by thousands of men and women across the globe just because of some posts by 4Chan nearly 4 years ago. America is only getting more paranoid over nothing and it's only going to get worse over the next 50 to 100 years from now! The death of the Bronies is coming and sadly 2015 will be the ending year for them.

When I read that, I  remembered another trait some fail OCs share. They lost one or both of their parents early in their life, and in their adolescent...

Though not directly relevant to the questing part later I do front to challenge this baseless assumption with:

Father never mentioned, if not: then very little. Effectively gives up on mother when she goes to chase a mare into the wide world.


Never knew her father because Stable 99 tradition and likely died long ago. Mother dies mid-story before she's forced to gas her entire Stable and become homeless and parentless


Mother dies early in story, effectively orphaning her. Later parental drama involving opiate-addicted father.


Laundry list of issues including but not limited to not knowing her lineage as well as being responsible for murdering her own foal. Can't kill herself out of the guilt.


Her roll in her relevant story fluctuates between looking for her mother on the side to "what in the blazing wastelands happened to her".


The ENTIRE PLOT of Pink Eyes is pretty much Puppysmile's quest for her mom.

You can't really say such a thing is a defacto universal truth to a terrible OC since I can probably dig up an exception in the FoE-verse, which is the biggest fannon universe I've really bothered with. But not being a "canon" species, having lost their parents, being an alicorn, or any card I've seen pulled here doesn't mean that they're terrible. I can still keep finding exceptions that disprove the rule.

So, in the ultimate end:

When it comes to Alicorn Oc's, I usually can accept them as long as they got a good reason to be princess, like, we got the princess of sun, of moon (including stars), of love and of friendship. I had a plan on a princess, may or may not use it, and it was supposed to be the princess of Joy/enjoyment. Not the best idea, but if an alicorn doesn't have a good reason of alicorn powers, I just have a hard time to accept it...

My OC is an alicorn and he's a prince. What's so bad about that? He could marry the other three alicorns (Princess Cadance is already married though)
