^ Honestly, it's really annoying how many people think that losing weight is always the easiest thing in the world, when some people have a harder time with it than others.
That, and weight gain isn't always caused by overeating, eating unhealthy, and/or sedentary lifestyle. It can also be caused by medical conditions.

LaptopBrony with a barely usable laptop? Unacceptable!
Install some ClassicShell, stat! Configure it to disable all the hot corners, and you have yourself a perfectly serviceable OS.
Also I the UEFI lockdown sounds like a lot of hear-say. Locking that down would just cause everyone a lot of trouble as it would brick the machine the moment windows inevitably bricks itself with an update or something. Even then, if you have the machine in your hands its always get around the password.

His room doesn't have wired connection, or anywhere to put it as far as I know. That's another reason why he wants my room.

Apparently, in Texas, or at least in my area, once you turn 18, you no longer have to take a driving test. You can just go in for an ID and end up with a driver's license. That explains why there are so many people around here who seem to have no idea how to drive properly.
I at least took driving classes, though. And let me tell yah, the lesson about train track safety has left me paranoid of stopping my car on train tracks, even if it's for a second. If there's a stop sign on the other side of the tracks and someone has stopped there, don't stop on the tracks and wait for them to go. You're supposed to wait behind the tracks for them to go, then drive across the tracks and stop in that spot.
A train driver came in as a guest speaker and showed us a compilation video from cameras mounted on trains, and...Just... Trains are no joke, okay? They look like they're going slow, but they're going fast, and they take a while to stop. Playing chicken on train tracks is about as cool as saying "YOLO." When you're crossing tracks, pay attention and watch out. If a train is coming, don't try to beat it across the track. Just wait for it. It's going a lot faster than you think. Don't walk along a train track, either.
Best way to know if train tracks are still in use? Look at the top of the metal rails. If they're not totally rusted over, the track is in use. Even if they are totally rusted over, it doesn't hurt to keep an eye and an ear out for any trains.

A dollar was worth a lot more back then (heck, a cent was worth more), and college tuition was about 4 or 5 times less than it is now. And they weren't in the middle of a job crisis.
So, yeah, they need to get with the times, realize things have changed a lot, and learn how economy works.
Where's that stereotypical talk of "I remember when a nickel could buy you a pile of candy. Everything costs so much more these days."?
At least we don't have to walk 15 miles in the snow to get to school these days.

I know for a fact I've been more conditioned to test taking and flushing said information out of my head afterwards...clearly a great policy for dealing with life. -sarcasm sarcasm-And I was one of the kids who actually somewhat liked school, particularly because I always got fantastic grades.

Actually, as far as developed countries go, the USA has a relatively low cost of living, especially in the south. When I was living in a small town in Louisiana my minimum wage job allowed me to comfortably afford a 2 bedroom apartment with a dishwasher and washer-dryer in unit. I could afford to keep the AC blaring all summer in triple digit temperatures at 100% humidity, had high-speed internet, ate out a few times a week, ect.
Was it sustainable? No. After all my living expenses I only had about 50-100 dollars left over every month, which was needed to absorb surprise expenses like car maintenance or dental visits. So I could never really afford to buy anything, or go out much, or save money, and a could never even utter the word 'vacation' without giggling. Still though, I was surviving independently, which is a lot more than most minimum wage earners can say.

I never did understand the hate for those types of jobs, heck you can get paid $21 an hour for working at CostCo but CostCo requires previous experience to work there. You start out at $11 an hour and you get a 50 cent raise every six months because CostCo is ran on seniority rather than job position. So as long as you do your job you get paid good and it rises the longer you stay two of my cousins work at CostCo and they love it.
