I just don't understand the stigma of MLP. I guess it's just general misogyny and gender role stereotypes. I really wish our culture would get over it already.

I had no idea what this meant until I realized marshmallows have gelatin. BUT, marshmallows used to be made from the actual marsh mallow plant and originally contained no gelatin. Considering how technologically backwards Equestria is, they probably do use the plants.

The whole Crystal Empire toy line has been hinting about the location and Princess Cadance being there.

The entire notion of somone being judged in a way that is based around thier interests rather than thier essence of character anyway is ridiculus, I am not a brony myself, that is, I don't watch the show, but alot of my friends are, though I did meet many of these fantastic people through this fandom, heck, I even made a Herd for them. But this survay does raise and challenge some of the more negative labels bronies often receive.

And in response to some of the previous posts in this thread, every single trend/fandom/fashion has a dark side, that is not bronies, that is humanity you are seeing, it will always happen, but that doesn't mean you have to be a part of it, should you choose, besides, the good doctor said they are going to look at some of the darker aspects of the fandom in thier 3rd survay, so you can't deny they aren't deliberatly ignoring it, unlike certain other videos..this research is not biased one way or the other.

I'm completely agree with you!

There's a reason why Rule 34 called a rule. Any fanbase that is recognizable will have http://forum.legendsofequestria.com/index.php?topic=2470.0">Read the forum rules.. The Brony community is mostly filled with straight, adolescent males, and it's a cartoon about mostly female characters. Put two and two together and you'll understand why clop exists.

But yeah, a big reason why people love this cartoon is because of the morals and positive messages it gives, along with the colorful animation, great writing and music. I'm not sure why people watch FIM, say they like it, and still act pessimistic and negative about it, it doesn't make sense!

It just sounds like you want to be a Negative Nancy and are content with wanting Bronies to look negative rather than embracing the positive aspects of why people watch the show.

Oh no no no no, I'm not talking about My Little Pony, I'm talking about Jersey Shore and such.

I was referring to Lary, actually.

They said they had about 20,000 people take the survey.
109
They did a survey with Bronies and non-Bronies and compared them and there were very little differences, except that Bronies are more tolerable but also tend to be introverted. It's not directed towards haters, it's collected data to show facts. There's no more of a dark side of Bronies than any other group of anybody out there. They mentioned "hidden Bronies" and could not get much data on them, and that is probably the dark side of Bronies, which is only 5% of the whole fandom.

Nobody has mentioned Crystal Empire yet? Apparently Princess Cadance goes to Crystal Empire, a place made of beautiful crystals (and maybe filled with crystal ponies?) to help spread love because there seems to be a lack of it there.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about, look at this.

Hasbro is making a lot of money off of FIM from its huge fanbase. Doesn't make sense why they would cut it short unless legal reasons prevented them from making more.
112
Very interesting stuff! This disproves a lot of labels people have been giving Bronies.

So if disney owns rights, but hasbro still sells toys of the name... :/

Oh, and in my headcanon, all the generations are different ages of the world, with some sort of semi-apocalyptic event happening in between.

Hasbro has never sold any Bon Bon toys. She was exclusively a Disney pony from My Little Pony Tales. Fans named the G4 background pony Bon Bon because she has a similar candy wrapper cutiemark.

DID SHE JUST SAY "BON BON"?!?!

Yes Bon Bon is a pony from G1, but Disney now owns the rights to her.

There used to be a MLP MUSH but it's no longer running. A MLP MU* would be a great place to hang out daily and socialize, it's basically a text based MMORPG.

Wow, how did you know that song was stuck in my head just now??

My dad (may he rest in peace) was a gamer and played all sorts of PC games like Fallout, Rainbow Six, Diablo, Dungeon Master, and lots of Amiga games too in the 80's. He even had an Xbox 360 and played Oblivion! I got him a Lord of the Rings game for Christmas once. When I was little I would sit next to him and watch him play through games. If it weren't for him I wouldn't be quite the gamer I am now.

Interesting. It's Disney's My Little Pony Tales, so I'm not sure if it's canon, but it makes sense that alicorns are otherworldly. Celestia comes from the word "celestial", which means divine or heavenly. So maybe they are sort of like angels in that regard because of how powerful they are.
119
I don't like all the hate directed towards previous generations from all the Bronies. Do they forget who the intended audience MLP is for?? Sure they aren't that well animated or written as G4, but it's no reason to crap all over it. Come on, think about. MY LITTLE PONY.

Older generations weren't THAT bad. Except for 3.5 newborn cuties, that was absolutely horrible.
