With a final nod, Ara set out to meet these fleshlings,"Perhaps with some light encouragement they would prove more stimulating. " Musing to herself was supplemented by the crackling of burning leaves, just beneath her hooves and with graceful, if exaggerated movements, she made her way forward. Ten military Syntherians joined her stride, five preachers and five philosophers.

* * *

The sparkling row of guards moved to attention; this sudden movement sparked interest and fear. Whatever these creatures were . . . they had proved highly resilient, if not immune, to physical altercation. Now they were here and before them, it was time to do their duty! The princesses had sent them here to protect the town and this they would do. But, the way the small group was approaching . . . it was wrong.

A few of the iridescent ponies were stepping forward, all in tune to their leaders hoof-steps and, they were moving forward calmly, peaceably. This was more than action enough to give the guards pause. With a quick worried glance between themselves and the soft playing of the wind, the company captain made his decision.

"Ho there, stand and address yourself."

* * *

Ara stood there for a moment, then shook her head. "Bring me the one who fought before, the one who fought with my captain before. I have questions for him and he had questions for me. This fleshling we have interacted with and that is whom we dedicate, as our ambassador." Several light ponies moved forward to stand just behind or along side Ara and their unwavering posture was quite intimidating among the windy plain.

* * *

The Company leader was hesitant at first but eventually agreed, if compromise or negotiations were to be made he wouldn't know how to proceed. However, someone like the Captain of the watch would be trained in these kinds of matters. Yes, he would send someone to get the captain and until the Captain arrived, he would hold order here.

A nod to one of the soldiers and he was away, dashing to get the word to Captain Zenryo;  word that the strange creatures had returned and wanted to speak, to him.

The tension was immense on that windswept plain, and a few soldiers shivered their discomfort. Perhaps it wasn't from the cold air but from the cold eyes staring back at them . .  .

Ara let her eyes trail to the sun before making her response. "Captain, do not worry yourself overmuch. So far these fleshlings can do nothing to us. Perhaps, in time, this will change but there is very little need to spend time speculating potential risks. " Her eyes slowly aligning onto Dareka's and their cold intellectual quality melting for but a moment. "Your concern is noted captain, but if these fleshlings will not cooperate, forcibly or otherwise, we will be required to PUSH through them. I'd prefer to have a force prepared at that time. Besides, there are more things to be understood here. "

Ara struck the captain with great affection. "The Great Understanding needs all our work Captain, several of the other preachers have tablets with them, allow them to record your progress and make great strides for our people. "

"Oh no my wing pin"
145
Jimmy sees alicorn princess and stops. "You are alicorn princess, I am Alicorn king what are you doing here."

(Jimmy is jealous because he is alicorn king and he hasn't seen another alicorn in 10,000 years and he is suprized and worried and he doesn't understand but he is happy.)
146
Twinkle steps away. "No, I'm afraid."

A beautiful red sun entered the sky over pony-ville, and though the clouds were sparse an aura of melancholy hung over the entire town. The tactical alert had already been sent to Canterlot and the princess had deployed a company around Pony-ville. The sturdy warriors sparkling armor did nothing to encourage the villagers; having a military force around pony-ville was unsettling enough, not to mention the strange creatures that appeared yesterday.

Even so, the soldiers stood proud and strong; fifty in number and ready for all that would come, or so they thought. Then the Syntherians re-appeared, first one; then the captain. Soon the entire expedition was sparkling in the low morning light. And Ara'ja-meya was proffering her tablet before her, once again. "Another bright light shines down upon us, share your revelations and let us heighten our connection with 'The Great Understanding'. Let us learn together and start our limited time of mobility. What a frustrating world, how can the essence of things be stable without constant energy . . . "

Ara'ja-meya's form froze for a moment and her uniformity flickered. After several seconds she shook her head violently. "Take all matters from your mind, speculation is weakness, factual assessments are everything." Ara clutched her tablet tightly against her chest, "The time of sharing is over! Let us begin our time of exploration. I shall take a small force of philosophers, warriors and preachers and I shall find their source of information. If one does not exist we will investigate their architecture? I shall leave the final distributions of troops to you two." Ara gave a deep nod to both other leaders. "I would requisition Jal'amat and Relidie-muscat; all others are of little consequence. Divide the men."

Then her shining eyes lite upon the village before them. Today was going to be something.
148
Twinkle turned left. "I am adviser to King Alicorn. I don't have time to have fun so I don't have fun so I don't know how." Twinkle is sad.

Jimmy was busy flying around little foals.
149
Twinkle struggles through the air and crys upside down. "I don't know how to have fun."

Jimmy is eating apricots
150
Twinkle-winkle walks away. Jimmy is having fun at party. Twinkle looks back sad. Jimmy doesn't notice.

(The cabbage lady is having fun at the party all her cabbages are sold but she sells apricots now.)
151
Jimmy gives hugs and feels better.

Twinkle-Winkle is jealous.
152
(Jimmy got rid of festival because he was sad and jelly monster died so everyone cried for a year now they are happy again and the festival is back)

Jimmy told the people it was festival time.

Post Merge

The people were happy and Twinkle-Winkle smiled.

Original Characters / Fēi Yuèliàng
2013 Jun 17, 14:38:08

Name:  Fēi Yuèliàng

Age: 28

Gender: Male

Race: Earth-Pony

Appearance: A Strawberry coat spotted with mud and ink, a tarnished and faded steel-gray Hanfu sprinkled with countless stains with a trim mud-rimmed. Sparkling champagne eyes stare out from a smiling mask of matted fur, eyes that speak of hidden depths and great zest for life. A wooden case sits proudly across his back, the constant friction of the leather stripes visible around the armpits of his Hanfu, where the fabric was more frayed and faded than anywhere else. His hair separated into many different mated braids with yellowing paper triangles; along the back it cascades down in black torrents. Once smooth hair now turned to crust from days of endless travel. A small bronze bracelet wound in the fashion of the rising dragon sits on the upper right-hoof. He carries himself with good posture but not particular pride or honour and his eyes turn from those that seek to catch his eye or scrutinize his appearance.

Talent: A Journeyman Poet, not particularly famous among the many nations of Ibexia but fairly new at his craft and still traveling to gain that valued insight. A few times his poems were told with such rapture and meaning as to raise the hopes of the common-folk. Most cases occurring during some great festival or moment of high energy. However, most of  Fēi Yuèliàng's poems deal with nature, the road or people he's come across.

Personality and description: Perhaps a recluse, perhaps an introvert? At times he can seem the most outgoing person ever and he certainly travels quite an amount. But  Fēi Yuèliàng doesn't seem comfortable around people in civilization and a hint to this might be found in one of his poems:
They walk to chores and daily meetings.
Their world, a structured order that they make.
I build a fire,
It is too close to a home.
The hunger fills me, so I leave.
Their structured world I have yet to make for myself.

Slowly his disconnected attitude has been crumbling, perhaps due to interactions with others or his travels across the world and a growing desire to protect the beauty in everything. Then again it may just be the nature of things that leads him the way he travels . . .

Backstory: Born to a local regent's wife and turning out to be a rather embarrassing scandal for his mother, as the doctor believed his father to be impotent . . . he was to be left out to the cold night air. His father and mother were not cruel ponies, and both agreed a dispatch him to a local taoist hermitage. The hope was: if the boy became a spiritual pillar, he'd never connect back to the regent or have any ambitions for politics.

The boy grew well, as a servant to the elder hermits, here he did not learn ambition or impatience but both flared in him from time to time. In the center of philosophical debates he learned many lessons but most of all how to listen. Still a scholar or two had joined the hermitage and the boy wasn't denied a semi-formal education. Every now and again an official would come for assistance, and here he could pickup some political information or, if he was lucky, a new book. After a time the boy discovered poetry and his path seemed ensured.  Eventually he left the hermitage although he was already 21 years of age and tragically unprepared for the world beyond.

Now nine years have passed and he has learned HOW to live, now it's time for him to give life meaning.

Other information of importance: Always a supply of ink, quills and parchment; unless denied him through: lack of capital; location; GM discretion

"i have a question for you ponies what are you that kick should have sent you flying , but it just past through you are you intangible" the captain continued blocking out his mind from being infiltrated

This caught Ara's interest, an inquiry, a possibility to share knowledge and enlighten another . . . If she had the time she most certainly would have. Of course the Sun was already declining and there wouldn't be time. Ara turned her attention to her fellow comrades. "The time of energy has passed, take to hibernation and contemplate what we've learned this day. May there be many revelations in your time of imobility and may you share them with others, for The Great Understanding."

Ara's hoof shot to the air, holding the tablet before her with complete care and reverence. "We shall postpone our examination of these fleshlings, and their material planet.  When next the sphere of radiation rises in the sky, we shall re-emerge with renewed vigor."

Then Ara was gone, all that remained? A small sphere of unknown origin and strange design. Bright as a miniature sun but without producing any of the expected heat.

"what in the name of celestia" the captain quickly teleported himself back out of this pony's immediate reach then attempted to stop the flames  from spreading again

"They use physical methods to repel their opponents. . .  Ara continued playing her string across the tablet. "This one seems keenly adept in the talent, his abilities transgress normal physical laws. How did he find himself behind the captain? It took him moments to prepare the move but it was literately instantaneous afterwards. This is fascinating and must be recorded. "

Ara'ja sent her thoughts into the militaristic pony's mind. "I probe your thoughts to learn your actions, be still and try your best not to resist. These abilities are worthy of recording.

A warm tingling began entering the militaristic pony's spine and crept up towards his cerebral cortex. "Don't resist."
156
Ara'ja-meya turned her blazing pupils upon the pony before the expedition. " It is interesting captain, see how this one comes to the defense of others as the rest scamper around? Surely a militaristic upbringing, and a separate hierarchical government. Though if that's true, why is this one and not many? Where are his cohorts?" Ara placed a careful hoof over the tablet. "This one's objective is clear, he is dangerous to our mission. Please keep this creature away from us,

Then she turned her attention upon the single creature before them. "Guide us to your knowledge, fleshling. This we demand from The Dominion of Thought and I demand as Preacher Ara'ja-meya." Her quiet demeanor and posture so perfect, her average height seemed twice that and her presence towered over the militaristic pony before her, "Submit, fleshling and guide us."
157
Then a quick hoof flew through the air and struck the captain square in the face. " Your dedication is noted captain, your great move for The Great Understanding. Ara's thin lip was as tight as ever but a small upturning expressed her affection.

"These beings are slow to flee, though danger threatens their very existence. This slow reaction is to be noted and see how their buildings are flammable? An interesting choice for corporeal beings.  Ara flicked a bright string across the tablet she held with such reverence. "Upon the first day of our great material expedition, the expedition came across beings of material nature, beings with slow reflexes and low regard for personal existence. A hazard was place before them and responsive reaction was minimal.  " Continue your investigations, captain.
158
"Take heed, captain, this environment is not like 'The Great Openness'. Light upon this ball is limited, we have but twelve hours before the radioactive sphere departs from view. This is why we've been provided these energy producing spheres, be prepared to hibernate when the Sun departs, use that time to review information, captain.  " Ara nodded her brilliant head. "Keep knowledgeable and grow wise, captain. " Her brilliant eyes, glancing upwards towards the morning sunlight. "Twelve hours . . ."

Removing the great tablet, Ara proffered it before Razz Oricalcum. "Please interpret the daily verse with me, Razz. We shall plan our paths ahead from this moment and I fear there must be much destruction for the Great Understanding.

Then One more graceful and slender, stepped forth. A mare with eyes even brighter than the others. A cock of the head and a tight lip greeted the captain's words. "They seem distracted, worried and they don't seem inquisitive. Though life may bring us challenges and trials, we face them. These creatures seem to run."

Steam blossomed from beneath Ara's hooves. "Though the 'Great Understanding' encourages us to seek out life and learn . . . these creatures promise trouble and aggression, they may have to be detained." Then zealots fire burst across the pony's mane. "For the Great Understanding!" A strange tablet was proffered forth, a small object with endless scripture.

Another normal morning, another beautiful sunrise. Gooey Gumdrops and Tasty Sweets were enjoying their romantic honey-moon in Pony-ville. Sitting underneath a lone tree and looking over pony-ville on a small pastoral hill, Tasty brushed her tail across Gumdrops muzzle. "Oh Tasty, it's just so beautiful . . ." But all the normal beauty and splendor of a normal world was already beginning to fade away.

"Tasty, what's that! It's so beautiful but . . . but what is it?" Sparkles were rising around the two, turning the normal splendor and green agrarian society into a opalescent fairy-land.   "It's beautiful Tasty~." But Tasty wasn't smiling, he might be a unicorn but this wasn't his work, "It-it's not me Gooey." Then there wasn't time, to react. The glistening fragments were dead center above pony-ville and they were no longer small fragments. Several suns seemed to be positioned directly over pony-ville, blazing heat and blinding light poured down into the valley, eradicating all sight and thought besides the heat . . .

Then it was gone, just as it began. It was mid morning; the air was cool and the breeze pleasant, nothing was different. Nothing, save the ponies standing at the bottom of the hill. But these ponies were no ORDINARY ponies, they came as ponies do, in various shapes and sizes and of the usual species. For the most part they even had similar features but . . . they were translucent and giving off a very bright and warm, light.

* * *

Soon Gooey and Tasty were running into town; the two were screaming and hollering about some strange apparitions outside town and shouting about the strange light occurrence overhead. And, like all the ponies outside during the strange anomaly, they were quite sunburned . . . sparkling red tomatoes.
