Alkaid assisted quietly as the two gods talked about something happened in their past. Well, probably "talked" was not the correct verb actually...
He watched Blue rush away towards the Portal and didn't follow him. He appeared not to be in the right mood to say anything more. He had no intention of becoming a god? So why did the Sisters made that happen? Or maybe something happened that made him repent of leaving Equestria..? he thought. Then, with the eyes fixed to the Portal, he said to Majem, still in form of curling water aside him: "I don't think I'd ever regret being a god. When I was in Canterlot I spent all my time studying, trying to understand what lies beyond the whole existence, but I knew I'd never been able to do it, for life is too short and a simple mortal just cannot reach the true Knowledge, no matter how hard he tries. Being a god is my occasion to accomplish my purpose, and I won't waste such an occasion."

Alkaid looked at the crow, not sure whether to greet it or not. "As the Portal has been opened, I guess not only we can go to Equestria, but ponies will be able to come here thence as well, right? Indeed, I feel some sources of intelligence now which seem bigger than ones of common animals and smaller than gods'. Also, where is the Portal's entrance located in Equestria?"

A few moments later the three gods and the crow had arrived close enough to see the Portal in the distance.

There's quite a bunch of ponies there; probably they haven't noticed us yet.

Alkaid imperceptibly raised an eyebrow as he looked to the new god. They are definitely used to events like an interdimensional Portal which opens on a earth-god planet. Better get myself used to them as well. he thought, and made no observation about the way of traveling. After all, gods probably had all the time of the world to do whatever they wish, so traveling fast wasn't the point indeed. Still, he was curious about seeing the Portal, so slightly quickened his pace without making the other two notice.

At the water god's last question he answered: "Are you kidding? A Portal to Equestria has just opened: we're obviously going there..." then he wondered if he wasn't being too hasty; after all, he was speaking to a god whose power he didn't know yet. "I mean...aren't you wondering why several gods have gathered there? Or did you expect this?"...Or he didn't notice the opening at all?

Nopony is voteing less than 3?  :/

Nopony's voting more than 5?  o.O

While following Blue, Alkaid told him: "It seems that most of the wandering spirits have already found a body to inhabit...this means someone must have set all the things up; I guess you can't just create a living being and its soul altogether, so the bodies had already been prepared somehow. Is there something like a God of souls or life? Maybe he opened the portal. Besides..." he added, "I think we should just teleport there, no need to go on hooves."

((Welcome, Bubbles ^^))

Holy hay, not only I am 5-to-7 hours in the future, but I've just restarted attending university, so I fear I won't be able to reply during the period while it's night here (should be about from your 2 PM to your 5-6 PM in the best case)...well, I hope I can follow the events anyway (I also hope the eleven-pages-in-a-day rush does not occur that often... X3 )

Spoiler: show
Lest there is another one: @Silver: if you decide to go to the Portal, consider I would follow you there, since Alkaid is obviously curious about that  ;) -- if I don't reply to your next post within, let's say, 4-5 pages, assume I either follow you (if you go to the portal) or express such will (if you don't go, or are reluctant to go)
147
"Wait: did you just say...Equestria? So the two dimensions are connected! Did the Sisters do all of these alone? An utterly new dimension out of nowhere...a connecting spell...I can't believe it! When I lived in Canterlot I was studying the mysterious topic of interdimensional magic, but there wasn't much stuff, for nopony ever really understood it...well, I guess the Sisters did..." then Alkaid interrupted, guessing he was boring the god in front of him. Neither the members of his family nor his college pals in Canterlot would really enjoy talking of theoretical yadda yadda with him.

So the pony said: "Those strange streams...they resemble the "wandering spirits" of which I've read once in my studies...basically they are free souls who roam in search of a body to inhabit. If they are actually wandering spirits, of course. But, given that there had always been such Portal, who may have opened it? Maybe the Sisters themselves are coming here? Or is it something who rather wants to leave? And where are all those spirits from?"

((Oh, buck! I can't believe there are eleven more pages!  O: Silver Snake, I'm so sorry I kept you stuck: I'm like 5 hours in the future, so when you were writing, I was probably spleeping... :l ))

Alkaid in fact could read people's memories, but he wasn't used to, unless the situation asked for it. Besides, he wasn't even sure he could read one god's memories, and didn't try at all with Blue. Instead, he said: "You see, I'm kinda new in this role, and I'd never been in this dimension before, therefore I was trying to gather the maximum amount of information I can about it. At this regards, there is something wierd about this place. I can sense -" before he could complete the phrase, the two gods suddenly felt something new. Alkaid did not know it, but the Portal had been re-opened; all he knew was that a considerably huge amount of intelligence sources had appeared out of nowhere somewhere on that very same planet.
"What's going on?" he asked Blue.
149
"I should have known before...such a huge source couldn't but come from a god...this means there are at least other two in the immediate neighbourhood...and now I feel also a minor source which seems to follow me..." thought Alkaid.

He then said aloud: "My pleasure. I am Alkaid, God of Knowledge and Memory. I arrived here just a few hours ago, so you're the first pony I've met so far. Sorry for the sudden appearance, but I sensed your presence, and I was curious about who generated it. I'm afraid I can't help you with the spectacles: restoration doesn't quite fit my realm... "

Alkaid thought: "Canterlot? Maybe I should've heard of him, but no surprise I haven't; I used to know everything about magic, but I can barely remember the name of the pony I shared my room with...I wonder if he knows about the mysterious source of intelligence...?"

((sorry, gotta go, be back in the afternoon (in italy now it's 10:00 AM) :P ))

((Edit: should I use a different style for thought and speech or is it right to use the same?))

((I suppose that Blue noticed that I appeared in front of him, so before doing anything I'm waiting his reaction  :P))

Didn't realize it would close so soon  D:

Well, let's wait for the beta!

Alkaid landed on Zeth. His sixth sense was tingling. "This planet definitely isn't lifeless. Besides the plants, the water and all the rest, I feel sentient life nearby.". Alkaid could perceive everything that held any kind of complex sensations, memories or knowledge inside. The more these were, the stronger he could feel them. Now he clearly perceived three of what he called "sources of intelligence" around him, one of whom was inexplicably near.

The pony checked all the directions, but no living being were to be seen. "The intelligence I perceive is far above that of a common animal. And it moves too fast. Better go and check out what is its owner. Luckily I can just teleport thither without effort; being a God gives many advantages."

Trying to ignore the mysterious nearest one, Alkaid concentrated on the second nearest source and teleported. The source of intelligence he sought appeared to be a white-mane blu-coated unicorn.

((Just to be sure: we're in the mortal plane, so all the Gods (except cases like Zeth) have a pony-like appearence, right?))

by the way, if anypony likes apocalyptic-style mystery notes, you can look at them (kinda) in Twilight's house.  Or if you're too lazy to try reading there you can find them on the forums http://forum.legendsofequestria.com/index.php?topic=4823.msg370776#msg370776

I was in Twilight's library yesterday, but totally missed them! I'll take a look today!

Alkaid interrupted his concentration. Most of the work of the global system Map was done, and the curiosity of seeing a planet from near urged him. "I think I'll head to that earth-like planet...it's the most likely-inhabited for as I see..."
And, while thinking this, he perceived something animated around him, though he couldn't see anything. "Probably I'm not alone here, after all." he thought. Then he headed towards Zeth.

((The earth-like planet is Zeth, right? As I can see from this post there are no other earth-like planets in the mortal plane...))

Is it just me or the servers just shut down?  >A<

"Well, this certainly looks like an interesting scenario for something to happen." Alkaid told himself. "Maybe this Universe is wider than what I'd expected. Better start organizing...first I'll draw a Map of the whole system, then I'll pass to each single body. If some of these planet-like bodies are inhabited, I could find someone to help me with exploration, this would save a lot of time."

Then he started drawing the Map in his own mind, minding every single planet, star and light, even the dimmest, within the neighbor space. But not before taking a second marveled glance at the Creation.
157
"Cartography! That's what this Universe needs. Nothing can happen without a surrounding space as frame. I will travel to all the existing places and draw them on a Map. I wonder if there are sentient beings somewhere...no big knowledge can be achieved without sentient beings. " thought Alkaid, leaving his empty realm in search of anything that existed. "...I think when I'm back I shall create a place where to keep all the things I'll learn. A library, perhaps...I do like libraries."
158
"I guess there are no many things to know nor events to remember in such a recently created Universe...well, it's no big deal, I can wait." thought Alkaid, closing his Book to contemplate the empty space around him.

((Hello, everypony, I'm new in online roleplaying, so I hope I don't act uncorrectly X3; also hope I can somehow get into the story!))

MLP: FiM SD Archive / Re: G5 ponies

When something wins, you don't need to change it. With such a G4, who needs a G5? I'd rather like to see spin-off series, for example one featuring the ponies mentioned above (lyra, vinyl, etc.) as mane characters, but a whole new generation would mean:
1) no G4 characters involved (and that would be BAD)
2) probably new design (and I don't see how could someone come up with a better design than Lauren Faust's)
3) NO PROFIT!  DD:
160
Name: Alkaid
Gender: Male
Race (pegasus, unicorn, etc): Earth Pony
Realm (fire, light, gravitation, dreams, etc): Knowledge/Memory
Personality: Determined, quite introvert, not really a laughing one, but not a selfish guy, either.
Description/image:
Spoiler: show

Black mane/tail, deep blue eyes, light grey coat. His cutie mark is a tribar (nopony ever actually understood its meaning, probably it's something related to magic - see background)
Equipment, if any (trident, etc): he always carries a book which is said to contain the universe's whole knowledge. Perhaps it's not true, but surely it contains a LOT of knowledge  ovO
Important info/background:
Spoiler: show
He has a very unusual story for a Earth Pony: since young, he was very interested in magic - not only the inner magic that Earth Pony have, but also the one performed by unicorns, and in general every faceting of magic - so, instead of carrying on his family's tradition (which had always worked the land), he decided to leave his town and attend a magic school for unicorns; obviously, being an Earth Pony, he was never able to actually perform magic, but instead, after years dedicated to studying ancient magic strolls, he became one of the maximum experts in theoretical magic in all of Equestria. Probably it's this determination that made Celestia and Luna grant him godhood...
