IC: A bubble of black liquid rose from the ground and popped. Standing where it had been was a pony. "I thought I heard other ponies in this direction. The name is Rhyme Writer, I'm a writer and a fighter. Oh, I guess I'm also a poet, but I did know it,"he said with a bow and a slight chuckle. I came here to do research on this fallen civilization but found it filled with monsters and madness. I was about to take a break when I heard voices over here and decided to check it out. And here I thought I was the only pony down here....well, sane pony anyway."

Ic:Rhyme looked at the coming storm. It looked rather.......not good......ominous in fact. Something seemed rather off about the storm, especially since none of the pegasi he knew said there was a huge storm scheduled for today. He decided it would be best if he went and found the inn to wait out the storm.

Intrigued by the flowers' unique hue, Rhyme made his way to the flower shop. He put his book and the crystal ink back into his saddle bag as he walked over. As he got closer he could smell the various aromas of the different flowers.

Rhyme was running his errands today and had stopped by Quills&Sofas to see if they had gotten their shipment of ink from the Crystal Empire. Happy to have a new type of ink he trotted out of the shop with his purchase. Eager to try it out, he stopped by the river and pulled out his blank book(his last one having filled up recently).His horn glowed an ash gray color as the ink flowed out of his saddle bag and snaked its way through the air. It glinted beautifully and different colors seemed to shift through the gleaming black. He proceeded to splash it onto the page, not losing a drop and took note of how it reacted to paper. Just like the liquid form, it too had glints of different colors.
"Simply stunning. I must go over and visit the Crystal Empire library sometime. I hear its massive and filled with books much older than what can be found in the Canterlot library."
A young Pegasus landed near by and Rhyme looked over at the nearby flower shop and its dark blue flowers. "An interesting color," he said to himself.

There is a logic here. You'll probably won't guess it but it is there. You have seen numerous glimpses of it. Still, I hope you know what you are dealing with. If not, go read the Oddesey (i think that's the name. It the adventures of the Argonauts. Good book interesting monsters). If you both survive you can blame the fight on brainwashing by music. That should be enough hints.
