Am thinking, beta might come out at the end of summer or the year. But ya that'd be nice.
Hate to burst le bubble, but they are not doing everything on the Road to Alpha in less than a month. And I honestly doubt they'll be done by the end of the year.
As Ezio said, there is still a lot that needs to be done before this game will be ready for anyone to actually play.
For those who haven't seen this, here's the checklist before the game even hits alpha, nevermind beta.

I'm not really gd at creating characters (I like drawing them better
) so I'll just pop in some basic background information of my OC XD

Race: Pegasus
Residence: Cloudsdale
Current Age (pony): an adolescent, still in my hyperactive years
Likes: fun and outgoing ponies, things that make me hyper XD, drawing/scribbling, flying around (if I actually could XD), muffins, apples, poetry/poetic stuff, short
animations, parodies & jokes, documentaries & biographies, photography, writing, critiques, short stories, science
Dislikes: ponies who arent sensitive/understanding/friendly

Mane Colour: Bright Orange

I'd probably not post it into this thread. You can however (if you wanted) post it under stories, or maybe on DeviantART or something. I'd wait until after the end of this whole auditions thing though. Just so nopony decides they want to do something they might regret
Honestly I'd love to read every submission that was made. I enjoy stories and it's fun to compare the styles of different authors to see which style you best like using and which ones you enjoy reading the most too.

I hardly think that they are going to pair up any of the Mane 6 characters it would not only be disrupting and confusing for their target audience (young children), it would also sort of disturb the story line because if you start something as important as a major character getting a crush or a date, one would expect that that lucky colt will get mentioned more frequently in the episodes 
if they want to create pairings in the show, the most they will do is to bring side / minor characters together, like how they ALMOST did with Cheerilee and Big Mac
