Although such a transformation would be a nice touch to the lore, no evidence is given to this.
He could just as easily caught a few ponies with his spell and then after some time die of old age, yet bittered by his actions.

Basing every theory from now on to this hypothesis would be like using a fanfic as ultimate proof.
But if the show or comic series would implement this, I would be happy to accept it as a fact.

I'm often baffled at my mom's ignorance.

Now she's not a stupid woman by a long shot. She was a straight A student in high school and graduated college with a 3.8 GPA, which is a lot more than I can brag, but she can really throw a curve ball sometimes.

I remember telling her than if Piyush Jindal ran for president I would vote for him in a heartbeat.

Her response? "I don't like the idea of all these new presidential candidates with names like Obama and Jindal that are clearly not American."

I could think of two-dozen ways to point out how ignorant that sounds, but being my mother, I cut her some slack and decided to corner her.

Me: And what exactly is an 'American' name to you?
Mom: You know, George, Harold, David.
Me: Those are all European names.
Mom: ....

Oh, mamma, where would I be without you.

I'm with you, mothers can really be a handful.
Though with my mother it is:
Science Vs. Some sort of Spiritualism
