Wait, are you talking ages or grades?
1st grade is usually 5 years old, and then 5th grade ends with being 12 years old, having been 11 at the start of the school year.
So middle school is 12 years old to 14 years old, and high school is 14 years old to 18 years old.
Also, I wonder what the word names are for students in high schools that are 10th to 12th grades.
When it's 9th to 12th, it goes Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior.
We work like this:
1-3
1-6
1-6
1-?
We don't work with grades, or we do but we count from 1 each time. As is #th year of *insert school phase*.
