How Did No One Mention "Lilo And Stitch" Yet DD:?

I have a Stitch plush in my room staring at me in disappointment  :c  It wasn't a great show, but I loved it so much, especially the wide variation of the "cousins".  I wanted to see all 625 of them in detail sooo badly!

I was sorta...trusting, when I was young. Way too trusting.  So when someone told me Disneyland had added a new part of the park that was Pokemon themed I believed him and couldn't wait to go back.  My mom talked some sense into me before I was disappointed  when we did go, but I distinctly remember not believing her for a good long while about it.  Not one of my proudest childhood moments, I can tell you that. :c

That Mew truck in Red and Blue. Sadly I was gullible enough to believe it....

I've only heard that one after I was well into later games, and never had the chance of trying it myself.

Well now I feel just awful...Should have known I'd regret saying that I was hoping he'd recover for RWBY...

My heart goes out to those who knew him well, and especially his family.  Losing someone that close hurts tremendously...

Yeah, he's the guy who made RWBY.
No one knows what happened. They recently announced that he's in critical care in a hospital, but they want to respect his privacy as much as possible. They needed $50,000, so they started a Go Fund Me for it. It reached the goal in about 4 hours, and then doubled an hour or two later, and people are still donating.

At least now, if they run into complications that increase his bills (hopefully that won't happen), he'll be covered.
But yeah, they haven't told us what happened. There's a lot of speculation going on, one of which is that he worked himself too hard. He is known for being a workaholic who neglects sleep and runs on coffee.

Yeah, it's a relatively new thing that popped up. I'm pretty sure the girl who made the How To video had no idea that it's dangerous.

I seriously hope Monty's alright...it's never a good thing for someone to end up in the hospital, and I can only hope for his recovery.  I'm going to sound like a total obsessed fanboy saying this, but I want to know what he has planned for the future of RWBY.  It's one of the worlds I've wanted to see more of since I first saw the Red trailer.  I could of course stand a massive delay if it means a real human being gets the chance to recover, of course.  I'm not totally insane and selfish, just mostly.  :P

That whole Oreos thing reminds me of those Proactiv commercials where they show a bunch of "home remedies" for acne before advertising their own product.  I'm sad to say I've seen people doing stupider stuff than this, but I'd be lying if I said "Oreo mascara is the stupidest idea I've ever seen."  Its stuff like this that makes me fear for the next generation, and I'm barely out of my teens!

Played most of the games, though I never had an N64 or Super Nintendo.  I haven't played Link to the Past or Majora's Mask yet, and haven't beaten Zelda II or Four Swords on my 3DS; every other game I've beaten.  All that music takes up a good chunk of my Ipod as well.  ;)

I remember I lost my Spirit Tracks copy after clearing it 100%, and I was so upset for the longest time, I finally bought a 'new' one.  Haven't gotten far in it, but Spirit Tracks was one of my favorite titles in the series, not sure why exactly.

I forgot to mention yesterday that I also caught Ho-Oh.

:o

I almost caught it on my first Ultra Ball throw, but it came after the 3rd shake. I eventually caught it regardless.

Yay?

:s

For sure a yay, nice catch!  Ho-oh's one of those Pokémon with the lowest possible catch rate, so it's going to be a trick catching it with anything short of a Master Ball.  I've seen a few lucky guys (read: nutcases) going after Legendaries with really weak balls or at nearly full health and catch them: responses are generally in the realm of disbelief and super excitement at something that crazy working out.

My Platinum cartridge arrived yesterday after my dad mailed it to my dorm room; now I can try and get a Tropius to learn Twister so I can breed it onto the special-attack based Snivy I'm working on.  Problem is I sold all of my shards and need to find 6 red, 2 greens to pay the the tutor.  To the underground I go, I guess!

Kinda forgot about this, but seeing as it probably won't really matter to some of you... Well anyway, Reckless Emboar is now live. The Mystery Gift serial code for it is POKEMON500.

Thanks for reminding me, I'm gonna have to grab that one.  Is there an end date for those codes posted, by chance?

I've discovered the true problem of my cell phone. :l
I left it on the charger overnight, meaning for several hours. I took it off the charger and sent a text message to one person, then another text to another person. In the middle of sending the second text, my cell phone died.

I had thought it was just horrible annoying coincidence that it kept dying in the middle of sending a text. Nope. Apparently, sending a text has a chance of making my cell phone die. What kind of glitch is that?!!!

So, whenever I wanna send a text, I have it on the charger because that's the only way to prevent it from randomly dying.

My phone sometimes does something similar to that, except it basically reboots either as I'm sending the text or sliding the keyboard out (it's an old phone, I've never seen a need for a smartphone or replacing something that's still functional...barely).  Is yours rebooting after it shuts off or just going dead?  If its the latter, I have to wonder if there's something about the battery or some capacitor in the phone that gets overworked sending data out (oh just the main purpose of a phone, nothing to worry about it not surviving, really >:/)

Okayyyy, if the servers are closed, why isn't the chat open..... I'm getting very slightly upset.  :I :l

I was under the impression the chat had gone away quite a while ago...I never used it, I mean, but I thought it had disappeared a long while ago.  Was it planned that the chat would return after the servers went down?

The game sounds interesting by the way. I might pick it up sometime and ill be sure to let you know what I think when I do.

Don't buy it for the gameplay or graphics, fair warning.  It's strictly a visual novel with a tiny puzzle element and rather clunky controls.  You buy it for the story...and the soundtrack.  Dear Lord the music is simple, but beautiful. By far the most replayed on my Ipod since I picked it up.

I did take the quote out of context, but I get what you mean.  I freely admit I don't understand much about aspergers.  I wonder if you'd be interested in seeing the scene in question, see if I had the interpretation wrong.  There are let's plays of the whole game on youtube (how I first found out about it) if you're interested, but I of course can't make you watch em.  If you do, let me know what you think, because now I'm curious.
Spoiler: show
Isabelle in fact does explain that people with aspergers do have the same desire to be with other people, just can't express it properly.  River herself struggles telling Johnny about something extremely important for years, even dies without him ever understanding the situation.  I feel it would make more sense to watch the actual story though, so I'm going to stop babbling here.

I'm sorry about not getting along with family members, and about my confused post.

In this case my definition of functioning properly would be not bursting into tears 3+ times a day, throwing things, or having ideations that can't be discussed here. As it stands I'm gonna have some cleaning up to do when I get back. Broken glass all over the floor.. .
To be pedantic, not having anything you've listed might be a good "proper" for someone who is "neurotypical", but sadly for someone with an off brain chemistry (like those who suffer depression, anxiety, OCD etc.), the brain doesn't act that way naturally.  It takes a lot of effort, often too much, to try and put on what other people might consider socially acceptable.

There's a visual novel I played recently called To the Moon, and I'm reminded of a character's dialogue from a little snippet of it.  Wall of text/minor spoilers below.
Spoiler: show
One of the principal characters of To the Moon, River, suffers from an unidentified neurodevelopmental disorder, assumed to be Aspergers syndrome, since it's not named in the game.  One of her husband Johnny's friends Isabelle suffers at least a similar disorder, as Johnny talks to her about River's condition, assuming that Isabelle has at least a better understanding of River than he does.  Something she says in response to this really struck me about people with some natural chemical imbalance:

"...I was diagnosed when I was still young.  With effort, it's not impossible to acquire a guise of social norms systematically.....Me.. I'm an actress, because I've been doing it all my life. Not only onstage, but offstage...and at practically every moment. I've gotten good at it, because acting is the only option I have. It's the only way for me to be 'normal'. But River...she never did that. She remained an outcast and refused to learn how to step against it... I don't know if it was by choice or limit, whether bravery or cowardice... There are days where I just can't stand faking it anymore. And then, I realise that it's too late. The Isabelle that people know of is all an act, and the real me has long become a stranger."

All I'm really trying to say is not to be too hard on yourself for having certain thoughts or emotions and having difficulty controlling them.  I know it's not easy, but chemistry in the brain can be just plain evil sometimes.  That's hardly your fault, and you as a human being only have so much energy to fight against it.

I had a serious emotional crisis and had to come back to Louisiana for a while. My MDD is flaring up again. Between loneliness, financial stress, and homesickness I ended up going off the deep end. I saw the doctor and he tried to put me on a medication that costs $115 dollars a bottle. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME? That would just make me even more depressed! Luckily he changed the order to an almost identical medication that only costs $4 a bottle. Much better...

I'm just gonna have to accept that I'm always gonna need meds to function properly through life's ups and downs. Better to just stay on them permenantly and not have to deal with relapses anymore. It's very hard on my mom to see me like this.

I'm very sorry to hear about all that.  I've got something of a depressive mood as well, though I doubt its as serious as yours.

A psychiatrist suggested a few tricks that can help moment to moment; if you haven't heard they hopefully will give you a little help.

  • Breathe in for a count of 4, and release it in 8.  The trick is to fill your lungs and empty them, and the idea is to slow your heart rate if it becomes too excited, namely due to anxiety.

  • Pick two points on opposite sides of your vision, say two corners in a room.  Keeping your head still, look at each point back and forth as fast as you can.  I can't explain how exactly, but it occupies your mind long enough that any depressive trains of thought come to a halt.  It's certainly not as effective as a long-term treatment, but it can be a great way to just pause and reset if you're really about to lose it in the moment.

Also consider this: "functioning properly" is a highly relative term.  In terms of the mind, 'proper' depends heavily on what chemical (im)balance you're stuck with.  You're a fan of MLP, so you ought to know better than most that "the norm" isn't always "right"  :P

My first Pokémon game was a friend's Red then I got my own Yellow, and I've been watching the show ever since Season 1 when it first came out over here. -I- feel old... X3

Yeah, I started off with Blue I think the same year it came out in the US.  Gathered quite a few games since then, at least one a "set".  I distinctly remember getting my dad to drive us quite a long way to get to the 10 year anniversary tour where I picked up my first Celebi...and that was in 2006!  Technically by that point I'd been a trainer only 8 years, but still...old.

Time/Darkness/Sky will forever be the most emotional set of Mystery Dungeon games for me, both story- and music-wise. Gates to Infinity lacked in the story side in my opinion, but it had some nice music.

I really hope there will be a Wii U version at one point, especially considering the fact that Japan had WiiWare ones that never came over here. Actually, I wouldn't mind if they just ported those instead (translated, of course).

I never played Time/Darkness/Sky, but I've watched someone Let's Play it.  Not as impacting if the characters aren't yours.

I did however play through Mystery Dungeon Blue, and that one hit me like a ton of bricks.  I agree that the story for T/D/S was better, but I can't discount Red/Blue's music and the emotional impact it left on my childhood.

...that game came out in 2006.  Sweet Luna I feel old now  lol

Questing can be a bit of a chore to some degree, yes.  Those characters you mentioned are in Cloudopolis and the apple farm off of Ponydale, repsectively: I only know that because that's where they've been for the past 4 OSW's I've been here for  :P

Quests like that are meant to make you get out and explore the world, but it does help to have some general idea where you're going.  I'm sure once the quest log system gets implemented you'll be able to see "oh this guy's somewhere in Cantermore" and at least give you one map to search instead of five.

It all depends on how well the game does in Japan's arcades.

EDIT: Done with both trades!

And once again thank you for your dedicated breeding!  x3  I think since I'm not that enthused to use a Reckless Emboar, I'll just pick up the code version of it and be done with it, in case I ever decide to make one.

Mental/sociological blocks.  I was sitting around watching an RP between Cadence, Luna and Celestia, with many ponies jumping in and out, for nearly half an hour yesterday, wanting to at least say something.  But I couldn't bring myself to say anything... >.<

The Crystal Kingdom, for example, seems very quiet. Which is weird, because I personally think it's the most beautiful area in the game right now!

I second that about the Crystal Kingdom's beauty; I explored with my unicorn, but now I want to get around to it with my pegasus...who's stuck in Cloudopolis for now.  And the new music is stellar, thank you development team!  :D

Before the weekend is over I really want to see the Crystal Kingdom stadium packed with ponies, if the server can handle that.

What's that mean?
Its a common phrase from the Warhammer 40K universe, namely what people from the Imperium (humans serving the character he's using as an avatar/forum name) call those who have fallen to Chaos.  The Imperium reveres the Emperor as a religious figure, thus anything going against what they believe is his views is heretical (heresy).

Well my favorite show as a kid was Code Lyoko for sure; I'll admit to having Miis of the Lyoko Warriors (including William) on my 3DS and made each one of them a Mii Fighter in Smash Bros 4.  I was cautiously optimistic for Evolution, but I haven't really seen too much of it yet.  I heard some of the dub voice choices and...disagreed  :I  I still am thinking of watching it when I get the chance, but its lower on the priorities list right now.

From what people have mentioned already, I also loved Xiaolin Showdown, Danny Phantom, My Life as a Teenaged Robot (didn't see it much, but I loved Jenny to pieces) and Totally Spies.  That one felt like a mostly guilty pleasure than anything else.   X3

I'm just glad Grey is an Original (I think) I have yet to see a pone like her in the show and whatnot, so I think its pretty safe to say she's an original. XD

I know what you mean by "I think".  I try and put at least some effort into making my characters...each of my two right now was kind of just "what colors do I like in that mane/tail style" on the Pony Creator (I'm too lazy to learn how to draw  :P) but each of them has at least 4 pages double spaced of Word documents about their history.  I Googled both of their names in the hopes that someone hadn't used it already, and I still think I overlapped with someone by accident.  Winter Whisper's name is kinda generic, but I just liked it so much I wanted to use it.
