Actually, I think if anypony deserves to get a boyfriend it's Fluttershy.
That would be so awesome!
It should either be someone like Big Mac, or someone assertive like, well rainbow dash!
Somehow, I doubt the show would have a canon female with female relationship. I know that society has come far in tolerance of such things, but it would be extremely risky for the show to do that.
Hey, people even threw a fit about a Cheerios commercial depicting an interracial couple with a mixed-race child, and look how far we've come in racial tolerance and equality.
It's not an issue of tolerance, it's an issue of boundaries on the show's part. Homosexuality is a mature topic which has no place in an early-childhood show. Bronies too often seem to forget that this show is created with prepubescent children in mind, not us.
The Hub is about as likely do do an episode about homosexuality as they are an episode about abortion or immigration. This show is not a political soapbox.
Pretty much what I meant. Society has come far in its tolerance for homosexuality, but it's still too mature for a children's show. Sure, it's present in shows for adults and teens, but society won't accept it nor tolerate it in a children's show.
