I was about read to give this up when I caught a cold on the 20th.

Runny nose + thick mustache = not fun

Thankfully I'm over it now, though.

just wanna say that alicorns r okay with me, just that u have to remember that they're equal to all the other races.

Ummm...no. A pony that possess the powers of all three races combined is not "equal to all the other races".

Yep yep yep, what he said.

Mostly because alicorns possess BOTH the powers of MAGIC and FLIGHT.

And Earth Pony powers as well: Higher physical strength and endurance, and connection to nature.

Quote from: Lauren FaustThe only races in My Little Pony are Earth Pony, Pegasus and Unicorn, and they are all treated equally, ruled by a leader who embodies the traits of all three.

Everypony. Draw your beards on your OC so we can imagine.  ovO

Totally not a 30-second Paint.net edit.

On a less serious note: What does it say about my lovelife when my great-nephew is born before my own children?

It just dawned on me that it's an achievement for my 88 year old grandmother, too. It will be her first great-great-grandson.

I've shaved a dozen times this month.
But none of them were my own face.

I really didn't see this one coming, but when I think about it, it makes perfect sense. I used to listen to the original on loop all the time.

I've been reluctant to offer criticism ever since a certain poster got so offended by my feedback that she locked the thread and then called me out in the Pony Off-Topic section telling everyone that I was being mean to her. Nevermind that she actually ASKED for feedback in the title.

To be honest I don't like any OC that has out-of-universe characteristics. Being from another world, being immortal or hundreds to thousands of years old, being a hybrid between two species, having a power doesn't exist in the FiM universe, ect. I don't see why people even bother creating fan characters if they aren't going to play by the rules of the FiM universe. Whenever I see a character like that, I really don't even bother posting. When I see a character that could work as a healthy in-universe character, but needs some points addressed, I post as respectfully as possible.

People should be prepared to rebut any point of criticism on a character. Only two people have offered criticism on my characters and writing, and each time I addressed every point they made one by one; either explaining to them my reasoning for the point they addressed, or conceding that they were right and scrapping/changing the point if possible.

While compliments are all well and good, they won't help the person improve. From my point of view I get a little annoyed when nobody gives me honest feedback on something. A person who points out flaws in your work isn't doing it to hurt you; they're doing it to help you. I'd rather get negative reviews than no reviews at all, myself.
Review my OCs? :3

I already did.  :I

Well, my oldest niece's baby shower is next week. She's due for her first son in December, right after her 20th birthday. Seeing as she and I live in the same apartment complex, I'm sure I'll be babysitting often.

I like to joke that I was born 'in the wrong generation'. I was an unexpected baby born very late in my family. My parents are in their 60s and my sisters are 38 and 41 respectively. My oldest niece was born just a year after me, so she's like a sister to me. Unfortunately I wasn't able to push for an MLP themed baby shower, the baby being a boy and all.  X3

Today, at 5:12PM December 20th, 2012; Aidan Michael Scott May-Sparks was born! Wish I could have witnessed his birth, I was working in ER when I got the call that my niece was in labor and headed up. Unfortunately, my mom, sister, and step sister-in-law were already there and they wouldn't allow a fourth visitor, so I had to wait outside.

Not sure if it's okay to post a picture of him, I will if a mod gives permission.

This challenge has taught my something about facial hair genetics: I seem to be incapable of growing facial hair around my underlip area. I have a mustache, a soul patch, and a chin strap, but it won't come together. I didn't even know that was possible. I've seen people like that before, but I assumed they trimmed to make it look like that.

Hmm, I found the episodes pretty decent. I'm normally not a fan of things like whole empires coming out of nowhere, but whatever. Retroactive continuity is required if the show is going to continue.

Being the first season where Faust isn't involved at all, I was more than a bit worried. I wasn't too disappointed however. The characters were done fairly well: Twilight is still a neurotic wreck, but the adorkable genius I've always loved. Rainbow Dash is still a complete and utter jerk, no surprises there.

I'm a bit concerned at the small stroke of anger Fluttershy had near the beginning, and her boiling down to be little more than a butt monkey for much of the episode. Maybe I'm making a big deal out of nothing, but I love Fluttershy to death and I'd really hate to see her flanderized into a Meg Griffin-esque character.

I'm glad Spike finally got his well deserved spotlight. He was a lot more involved in these episodes than he normally is. With any luck he'll become a prominent protagonist; rather than just a protagonist.

I'm also glad to see Luna getting a tad more screen time. Hopefully we'll be seeing plenty of her in the coming season.

I found King Sombra a rather bland and one-dimensional character. He got basically no characterization and hardly any screen time at all. Just appeared laughing every now and then. They really could have done better than that. Discord and Chrysalis were done way, way better.

I also think Shining armor could use some better heroic moments of his own. In these episodes and in Canterlot Wedding he's portrayed as a helpless damsel in distress; having to rely on his wife and sister to save him. How did this guy become captain of the royal guard again?

Overall, I like it. I'm just a tad concerned about character flanderization; particularly Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash. Many a good shows have fallen victim to it, I'd hate to see that happen hear.

Hmm, I'm wondering if it's okay to bend the 'rules' a bit just to avoid the dreaded neckbeard.

You know, after this I'm going to wear my Pinkie Pie shirt to my Geri-Psych Unit meeting on the 15th. Who knows? Maybe I'll find I have a brony coworker.
