Maybe 2 years for each stage (and taking that they have already begun working to the Alpha stage, they might complete the pre-alpha stage in another year's time), which would add up to a total of around 7-8 years...

That's a 10 year difference >_>
Even that is a huge exaggeration. While it is true we can't say when it will be done, I'm pretty sure we can say how long it won't take. 7-8 years to get into beta (when we'll release it) is just way too long. I'm sure the entire team would agree that it won't take more than 2 or maybe even one more year to get into beta. At this point it just comes down to how many people we have working on the game at any given point. We have about 80 people on our roster, but only around a quarter of that (usually always the same people) are working on it at a time. And even then it's in our free time because this is a volunteer project.

Believe me I understand how frustrating it is to wait.
"No you don't! You have access to the game and work on it every day!"
That may be so, but there are two things I'd like to bring to light:

  • I used to be just an average Joe Schmoe like you guys and I know firsthand what it was like to wait and not know how they're doing until they release some kind of information. We all were in that position at some point.

  • Pretty much the only reason we even work on this project is because we want to deliver a great game to you guys and make your faces light up like a thousand suns. There is one video in particular I found on youtube of a group of guys playing LoE at galacon and they were having so much fun. It really made my day, or even week or month, just to watch them have so much fun playing a game I help foster.

That's a big hornet.
Spoiler: Approximately one and a half feet tall to be precise. • show

Yes. I did go through all that trouble just to find the height of the hornet. No. I don't know what's wrong with me.

That is me making it as unbiased as I can. It seems about right. Mostly Twilight, with AJ as a really close runner-up, and a healthy dose of the rest of them besides braggy Rainbow Dash.

So I believe Norton was just checking that these files were the right version... Which I don't believe I've ever seen an anti-virus do before.
Antivirus programs are programmed to check for virus signatures, flagged filenames, flagged file hashes, and a few other things. Programs and dlls, however, do sometimes have several variants and/or signatures when infected by spyware, so even if a file is "safe", it can also potentially be unsafe. A file can be flagged as a potential target for that very reason and that may be why it was checked. So you are correct, Remedy. It wasn't checking for a correct variant per se, just that it wasn't a vulnerable variant. Antivirus programs carry out these checks alongside their other duties. Another reason a seemingly safe file can be checked in particular is also because even though hashes have over trillions of different possibilities, that doesn't make them 100% unique to each file they represent. In english that means that a safe file can have the same hash as an unsafe program, which will trigger the antivirus to check it.

Viruses are like spies on your computer. They're usually well hidden, seek nothing more than to steal vital information and sabotage your machine, and they can convert other initially harmless programs into dangerous variants. There are only a few sure-fire ways to tell you actually have a virus or not. Besides those, all you can do is keep searching your computer over and over again hoping to root one out and destroy it.

I do also want to make a huge point that people seem to miss: viruses aren't anything special or mystical. It doesn't take any additional programming knowledge to make a virus vs a game or office application. All of your favorite games and applications are (when you get down to the most basic level) just as unsafe as those notorious viruses you've come to hate. Just like people, what defines a good program from a bad program is its intention, but they all have the same capabilities.

What if they tell you to sit still?
We're bronies. Since when do we listen to what people with news cameras say?
In seriousness, there are little things you can do while sitting still that still make it harder such as cocking your head to either side or being very expressive. Cutting two shots together will be obvious if someone's head randomly rotates upright or to the side, or if their eyebrows move instantaneously.

I wish I could take tests like these, but it's nigh impossible for me to take these kinds of quizzes without inadvertently manipulating the test to get the result I want :\.

So...fireballs....I have a feeling that when the game comes out we will see A LOT of fires in equestria X3
Until we work on the ability system some more, I bound fireballs to fire when you click the mouse. You won't be able to spam them the way SweBow loves to. Also, Bloomberg will be in charge of protecting nature in Ponyville and abroad. I think we're in good hands ...err branches.

Yeah, you could act normal, but they might edit it to twist things around and make it look like you acted differently. But in that case, I suppose you could then turn around and sue for slander or something.
Doubtful since they'd probably make you sign a contract allowing them to use their footage of you however they want. As long as you're careful and conscientious, it's not hard to prevent that. Be aware of their questions and how they can lead to one another out of context, and avoid being in front of the camera without moving around a little bit, to make it much harder to edit multiple sets of footage together.

This is one of the advantages of using Unity. It can not only build for Windows and Mac, but for your web browser as well. All that has to be done (not to make it sound simple, mind you) is to duplicate the character creation screen and inventory/equipment logic, and compile it for the web.

If I wasn't busy doing schtuffs, I'd totally volunteer for it just so I can act like a normal person, who happens to have MLP stuff. They expect a crazy nerd who has horrible social skills. It would be really funny if I could prove them wrong, and that would instead be the entertainment.

If anyone else gets the error I got, clear your cache.

It appears the image is uploaded under the same URL it was before? In that case, Firefox just defaults to the image stored in its cache, without bothering to check for a newer version. So that's why I was seeing the old one.
You don't need to clear your cache; you just need to update it. The refresh button updates your cache on the page you reloaded. If you think any webpage is out of date due to cache, simply go to said webpage and refresh it (This is what Iodine was talking about when he said to hit F5 as most browsers' refresh button is bound to F5.) Of course, if several websites are out of date, you may as well clear your cache to save the time you would otherwise spend clicking refresh. Just be aware that clearing your cache can remove important data that you'll have to re-enter later.

There is something to be said about these events, however. It is a bittersweet reality, but losing a loved one is as big a gift as it is a loss. It isn't until we lose someone that we realize what we really had. As cliche as it seems, it couldn't be farther from the truth. Fortunately I know how to control my emotions very well and am able to view the tragedy from a mostly logical perspective. I see it as unfortunate and take in the lessons learned from it. Am I sad? Yes. Do I long for him to return? Never. I know dang well he isn't coming back and as hard as it is to accept, the sooner you do, the easier it gets. Trust me.

I'm already addressing such a feature in a side-project I'm working on. It won't be directly on the forums, but you will be able to view game characters on the web. The details of how will be disclosed as we get closer to releasing the game.

Wait, so that means all the hats are done? Yay XD

Seriously though, grats on finishing the items!
Notice how it's under the programming section. Finishing the hats would fall under 3D and 2D.
Inventory means that the system is implemented that lets players have items in their inventory and equip clothing/armor on their pony. The items themselves still have to be made, they just now have a proper place to go.

i'm not smart enough to try zipping it and emailing it to myself that way...
Google recursively checks compressed files (zips, rars, 7zip, etc) and checks the format, not the extension so renaming it won't make a difference either. Just use google drive off your google account.

Oh! I remember someone telling me that when I was a baby, I apparently swallowed a metal ring on accident. Let me tell you, my parents never unwrapped a gift like that before!

I know how you feel, at least about the last part.
I was out biking my dogs because the power was out for a little bit while our solar panels were being worked on. I must have biked too far in the heat because just as I was almost home, one of my dogs collapsed on the grass and couldn't get up. I tried picking him up, but his entire body was limp. And he was apparently bleeding from his mouth. I rushed him to the vet and found out he got heat stroke and when he collapsed he bit his tounge (thankfully that was the reason for the bleeding as opposed to something else.) After cooling him off, we found out he was deaf, blind, and dumb. We had to let him go. He will be missed dearly D:.

Once when on a cub scout jamboree (retreat-esque thing) I sat around a campfire with all my friends as we ate smores. We eventually ran out and had to make more, and I volunteered to help. I took two crackers, stuck a marshmallow in the middle, and then stuck a bar of chocolate in the middle. Then I stared at it for a second and realized that I can't just hold it in the fire to melt it (or I'd severely burn my hand obviously), so in an incredible feat of intelligence I grabbed one of the sharp, metal prongs used for toasting marshmallows and proceeded to shove the prong through the smore. Because of the chocolate bar I put in there, it didn't want to go through anything more than the first cracker and marshmallow. So I laid the smore on one hand, and used the other to push the prong as hard as I could. After I finally got the prong through the smore, I had a sudden, apprehensive feeling that something wasn't quite right... A few moments later I realized that the hand I rested the smore on was stinging, and every time I moved the smore or prong, it stung even more. Apparently I shoved the metal prong into my hand, through my skin and muscle, but thankfully not through my bone. As deep as it was, it healed in about a month afterward :I. And let me tell you... It was a [insert derogatory term meaning female dog] to get out.
