Quote from: Firefly on 2012 Aug 19, 20:23:32Even that is a huge exaggeration. While it is true we can't say when it will be done, I'm pretty sure we can say how long it won't take. 7-8 years to get into beta (when we'll release it) is just way too long. I'm sure the entire team would agree that it won't take more than 2 or maybe even one more year to get into beta. At this point it just comes down to how many people we have working on the game at any given point. We have about 80 people on our roster, but only around a quarter of that (usually always the same people) are working on it at a time. And even then it's in our free time because this is a volunteer project.
Maybe 2 years for each stage (and taking that they have already begun working to the Alpha stage, they might complete the pre-alpha stage in another year's time), which would add up to a total of around 7-8 years...
That's a 10 year difference >_>

Quote from: Remedy on 2012 Aug 17, 09:06:36Antivirus programs are programmed to check for virus signatures, flagged filenames, flagged file hashes, and a few other things. Programs and dlls, however, do sometimes have several variants and/or signatures when infected by spyware, so even if a file is "safe", it can also potentially be unsafe. A file can be flagged as a potential target for that very reason and that may be why it was checked. So you are correct, Remedy. It wasn't checking for a correct variant per se, just that it wasn't a vulnerable variant. Antivirus programs carry out these checks alongside their other duties. Another reason a seemingly safe file can be checked in particular is also because even though hashes have over trillions of different possibilities, that doesn't make them 100% unique to each file they represent. In english that means that a safe file can have the same hash as an unsafe program, which will trigger the antivirus to check it.
So I believe Norton was just checking that these files were the right version... Which I don't believe I've ever seen an anti-virus do before.

What if they tell you to sit still?

You won't be able to spam them the way SweBow loves to. Also, Bloomberg will be in charge of protecting nature in Ponyville and abroad. I think we're in good hands ...err branches.
So...fireballs....I have a feeling that when the game comes out we will see A LOT of fires in equestria

Quote from: Chishio Kunrin on 2012 Aug 15, 03:19:41Doubtful since they'd probably make you sign a contract allowing them to use their footage of you however they want. As long as you're careful and conscientious, it's not hard to prevent that. Be aware of their questions and how they can lead to one another out of context, and avoid being in front of the camera without moving around a little bit, to make it much harder to edit multiple sets of footage together.
Yeah, you could act normal, but they might edit it to twist things around and make it look like you acted differently. But in that case, I suppose you could then turn around and sue for slander or something.
Quote from: Xeno Aura on 2012 Aug 14, 06:29:04You don't need to clear your cache; you just need to update it. The refresh button updates your cache on the page you reloaded. If you think any webpage is out of date due to cache, simply go to said webpage and refresh it (This is what Iodine was talking about when he said to hit F5 as most browsers' refresh button is bound to F5.) Of course, if several websites are out of date, you may as well clear your cache to save the time you would otherwise spend clicking refresh. Just be aware that clearing your cache can remove important data that you'll have to re-enter later.
If anyone else gets the error I got, clear your cache.
It appears the image is uploaded under the same URL it was before? In that case, Firefox just defaults to the image stored in its cache, without bothering to check for a newer version. So that's why I was seeing the old one.

Wait, so that means all the hats are done? Yay XD
Seriously though, grats on finishing the items!
Quote from: LaptopCommandStation on 2012 Aug 13, 19:19:56Google recursively checks compressed files (zips, rars, 7zip, etc) and checks the format, not the extension so renaming it won't make a difference either. Just use google drive off your google account.
i'm not smart enough to try zipping it and emailing it to myself that way...
