But like I said before it's your guy's business I'm only offering advice.
We appreciate it. It's best for everyone if we just leave it at that we probably won't post it.

Anyone else have any questions for AnyaSmash?

Only one comment was bad and it was on the bottom. As otherwise she didn't mention any names. And just explained what had happened. It's your guy's business but just know if the whole story isn't told things often end up worse than they are now with no one winning. As those wronged usually want what happened to them shown. And the Internet is a perfect place for them to attempt that.

If you truly have an apology then not showing everything will only end badly and worse for whoever it was, that is in the wrong.
Ordinarily I would completely agree with that sentiment, except that the apology is for inappropriate behavior executed in response to a justified action of preventing further drama. We don't need more gossip running around the forums. The parts that were removed, as you well know, Trege, were personal matters that may or may not be substantiated. They have no place on a forum, especially a forum with the themes of tolerance and kindness, and an average audience as young as we have.

Restoring the post with those parts removed I'm all for, however.

why would the leak be a problem rather than a solution?  leaking this type of discussion is exactly what needs to happen in order to ensure responsible and mature leaders in this forum and future game.  It allows transparency and inspires accountability among the team members.  All leaders should be accountable for their actions, regardless of whether it occurs in public or in private, and mature in what they do and how they act.  Censorship only leads to a lack of accountability and a lack of professionalism.
Because 100% professionalism isn't as helpful as you'd think. If everything was business on projects like these and everything was transparent, we couldn't cultivate any kind of relationships with each other because that requires private time. Also, it'd become a job. Regardless of if working on any project actually is a job, it's still a choice of if if feels like one. The most productive work gets done when it's fun and staff are having a good time. Just look at big, successful companies like Facebook, Valve, and NASA. They have all kinds of videos and webpages talking about the renovations they do to their offices and work areas to make their employees more at ease and feel like they're at home when they're actually at work.

Does that mean that those employees will end up sometimes saying or doing stupid things? Yes, it absolutely does, and that's necessary for a cohesive work environment. Am I saying that nothing can get out of what happens there and it needs to turn into some secret cultist society? No.

The other point is that if any of your friends told someone what you said about so-and-such when you told them that in privacy, what do you call that? You call that gossip, and that is exactly what happened here. It is absolutely no different. Could that gossip have been avoided if it was never said in the first place? Absolutely, but that doesn't mean the person who gossiped in the first place has no blame in what happened either.

All in all, what happened ...happened. Mistakes were made and we proved to you guys, once and for all, that we are, in fact, human and screw up sometimes. I'm sorry it had to be revealed this way, however, the truth is that we're people just like you guys who have exactly the same needs. The only difference is that we have fancy name badges.

In regards to transparency between leaders and members: Any of the staff who've been around long enough weren't surprised by any of this. It was just that in this instance things got blown out of proportion by people who weren't on staff.

Oh! I have a question! Pick me!
Um.. Ms. AnyaSmash, if you were going to write a letter to Princess Celestia about what you learned, what would you tell her? :D

HA! Bet you couldn't type that with a straight face.
I'm not sure I follow? :/
If you are referring to that I can be immature, then I certainly will not deny that. I am only eighteen, an adolescent and teenager by some definitions. I'm sorry if I've upset you, but I do ask that you message me about that and not clutter this thread.

Surely they have their reasons for the applicants needing to be 16 and above. Don't be upset  X3
Indeed. Among the top reasons being maturity.
Also realize this: You're still an early adolescent. You should be focusing more on you and your life. This project may be all-volunteer, but make no mistake: it can turn into a full-time job if you let it, hehe... If you're that passionate about wanting to help, then remember that practice makes perfect and keep drawing/modelling/whatever-ing!

To the rest of you: don't forget that you can still help us without being on the development/PR teams. We need you guys to keep us motivated!

ok how about staff birthdays with exclusive items like for example bloomberg=tree hat swebow=bacon hat Kit=pet sloth and ect
That's definitely more likely. Unfortunately, Swebow Day would need to use Hay Bacon because ponies don't eat meat :P

I'm pretty sure that players won't be able to get married. If you want, you can roleplay it, but I doubt there will be an actual system for marriage like that.
Correct. It is my understanding that all prospective "features" like this which only serve to "officialize" roleplays will not be added to the game at all and they will simply have to be roleplayed entirely by the individuals instead.

Nice idea I think we should celebrate the real holidays like Memorial Day, 4th of july, Cinco de mayo,Valintines day, and ect.
The issue with that is that everyone here isn't from the US or Mexico. If we include any of those holidays, we'd have to observe all the other nations' holidays, and we can't possibly do that. Also, none of those holidays have any relevance in Equestria, so any events we'd do for real-world holidays would have to be held out of the game anyhow. Sorry.
171
We're not accepting ideas right now, but if I am to entertain what you've put forth, there are a few flaws and details you need to work out anyway. I'm mentioning these to help you realize how specific design concepts have to be in order to be put in a game, not because I want to know (sorry.)

  • Valor - When does that 50% chance get tested? The buff is applied as long as your health is low, but if you test that chance as long as the buff is applied, it will eventually give it to your allies, thus having a 100% chance over time. Is it once you cross over that "low health" mark? When does the buff go away? When your HP goes back up? When the battle ends?

  • Swift Strike - Before the battle starts? Combat is real-time, not turn based.

Abilities will get stronger as you progress your character through the game, but we're not using a traditional leveling system (won't say anything beyond that.)

This belongs to MLP Show discussion guys.
I concur. This sub-forum is for things about the game, not the fandom or Hasbro.

Despite being on the internet and computer nearly all my days in school, I never came across any, and I mean absolutely, 100% no pony stuff on the web. I have no idea how, but I missed it all. I finally started figuring out which social group to hang out with my senior year of high school (a tiny bit over a year ago) and occasionally at lunch, they'd mention ponies. Now, I'm used to being more of an outcast and doing societally awkard things, so I never really hassled them about it more than asking them why. They said it was a good show and that the reactions I had to their (before I knew what to call it) brony-ness were typical and if I gave it a chance, I would like it too. I gave it no second thought and watched several episodes that night.

The next day I told them that I didn't like it because the first few episodes didn't really do anything for me. The truth was that I was in denial that I liked the show. I knew I was in denial too and the only struggle was how to let them know that I actually liked the show. So I told them, "Fine. I'll watch more episodes." I don't think I slept quite well the rest of that week; too many pony-filled, restless nights.

Eventually, I realized that I had no reason to try to be "tough" with my friends, since they already went through what I did, more or less, and I just gave in. The best part is that Pinkie Pie emodies one of those three guys perfectly, while Rarity emodies another, Rainbow Dash the third, and Applejack me. I'd always been the in the position of being the "words of wisdom" amidst our always zany conversations.

Eventually, I stopped eating my lunch alone and looked forward to eating it with some of the most understanding and tolerant people I'd ever met at that point. It's funny to think of it being only a year ago, but I can honestly say that I'm a completely different person because of them. In the least cliché way possible, I've learned so much about friendship from them and the fandom. It's been an amazing year.

Awesome! So would, say, my deviantART profile be fine as a portfolio?
CA isn't my dept, but judging by the poster on the front page "...email a link to your online portfolio...", I'd say that sounds right. Don't forget the other things it says you must include, among them being your Skype name and a recommendation that you can showcase non-MLP things as well.

I really want to apply for concept art, but I don't know what to have in my portfolio! I am three classes away from receiving my AA degree in art, do you guys think they would want to see art I've done in my classes as well as leisurely art? and how about fanart of other shows/movies/etc...?
Don't think of this as trying to please us with fancy looking drawings. Think of it as showing us who you are, what you love, and what you're capable of. The only thing I'd suggest beyond that is to try to show breadth of styles/work if you can. We're looking for individuals above all.

When the game is on late-beta, will we be able to play?  o.O I'm asking this cause one game I played let people play in the beta.
The plan is to open the game up when we hit beta. That means that once we're done with Alpha (Which we haven't started just yet, but are probably fairly close to. No, I don't know how much longer that means.), you can play shortly thereafter.
178
I believe periodic events are something we've talked about in past livestreams. I don't think we really know yet what our plans are about things like that other than we'll probably have some eventually. We're still working on getting the game functional. Once we hit late-Alpha or Beta, we'll probably go more into detail about something like that. Of course, that is just as far as I know. If the design team has anything planned in this regard, it must not be important enough (or fleshed out enough) to discuss with the rest of the team yet, which means we'll all have to wait :]
179
I'm not sure why you're unclear as to what happened: You tried to access the website while it was under heavy load. Is there anything else that needs to be wrong?

I wouldn't worry about the saturation limit. Realize that as painful as some colors can be as a static picture, when they're 3D models running around your screen, it can be even worse. Also, the limit doesn't have to be too extensive for it to be enough; the difference between gaudy and bright isn't much.

I think this question has been fully answered.
