I don't know what railroading is.

It's when you force the player down a path with little to no chance to really leave it.
To me, it's one of the biggest crimes you can do in RPGs.

A ROLEPLAYING Game is not a game where you level up, it's a game about choices. Actual choices. Going by the definition I see constantly used the CALL OF DUTY MULTIPLAYER is an RPG.
It's not.

The Walking Dead video game is a true RPG. Right? After all, you choose what to say, what to do, who to save, and your choices actually affect how the story goes, how the characters feel about you, and how it ends. The end of episode 4 has eight possibilities of who you'll have with you, depending on your past choices.

Sadly, I've never played that.
If what you say is true, then yes it is an RPG.
RPGs have absolutely NOTHING to do with level ups or skills, it's all about you making changes to people/the world, making choices that matter...
And not being railroaded.

Honestly a simple facepalm would be enough.

Overreacting is often for comedic effect. I think the Japanese tend not to show a whoooole lot of emotion in public or something.

It gets EXTREMELY ANNOYING
Especially when the characters barely change facial expression and move in sudden, sharp motions...
THEN BAM THEY'RE OVER REACTING

Just did a pony RP where I, an anthro, shrunk someone's character down to two inches and had them treat me as a goddess in a play manner, not actually seriously. Yeah, my character is female there, so what?
It was awesome.
