Storm Bolt looked at the tree as his mind tried to come up with an answer as to why any pony would want to willingly live in the Everfree forest. He had traveled to the forest many times, but he had never gone this deep inside of it. Despite him wanting to wander off, he instead flew up and looked inside one of the windows. Yet he saw no pony inside.

Storm looked at the unicorn curiously. He had encountered changelings before and knew they could be trouble. "We stay away from 'em," he told the pony. "Lest they capture us and toss us inside their hive for free food." He scratched his chin and decided to keep a close watch on the unicorn.

Storm heard the purple mare shout that they were about to start, so he sat up and readjusted his hat to where he could see again. He was curious as to what might lay ahead for the others, but he wasn't used to traveling in such a large group. A large group that might attract the attention of timberwolves...

Storm heard barking and growling, along with a pony speaking. He looked up from under his hat and saw the pony that he recognized to be the leader of the group. With the situation handled, he went back to listening.

Storm decided that since everypony was talking among each other. He would simply lay down and pull his hat over his now closed eyes as if he were taking a nap. But in reality he was trying to just pass the time by listening to ponies talk even if they were jumbled together.

Storm Bolt, still ignoring the others, found his gear to be satisfactory. He looked around and saw others nearby, yet he did not bother to go over to them. Instead he decided on the idea of waiting until everypony was ready before he would join them.

Storm Bolt sat off to the side as he checked his saddlebags for anything he may have missed. He signed up for the tour without a clear reason other than to perhaps see it from another pony's perspective. He didn't care much for it, but neither did he care too much about anything lately and that was most likely the reason he had chosen to come along.

History:
Storm Bolt grew up in Hollow Shades to earth pony step parents. His real parents, for whatever reason he has yet to find out, abandoned him at a young age. When he was still a colt, Storm Bolt's earth pony parents did not like it when he flew off into the forest on his own. And so they bought him a violin to keep him occupied and out of the forest. At first, Storm Bolt hated the infernal instrument as all he heard was scraping noises. Eventually he learned to play it quite well and found his special talent in playing.
Even so, he would sneak off to the forest and play there a lot. Storm Bolt would play for the animals or anypony that would be near. Over the years he developed a strong attachment to the instrument and won't go anywhere without it.
He was in Canterlot visiting a friend around the time of the Royal Wedding and Changeling invasion. Afterward he moved down to Ponyville to be closer to a forest that reminded him of home. Storm Bolt frequently ventures inside the Everfree forest to get away from other ponies. To him the forest feels like a blanket to hide his worries of the outside world.
