Its all Dependant on what the Unicorn's special talent is. Not all Unicorns can perform the same spell. But for a short list:

Teleportation
Levitation
Age Manipulation
Conjuration
Dunno if Unicorns can do it, but Discord did do Mind Manipulation in the S2 premiere.

There's a bunch more, but that's the most common ones.

If an Earth Pony fought a Pegasus or Unicorn with no magic, the Earth Pony would win nearly every time, because they are the strongest out of the three. I think it's safe to say that Applejack is the strongest of the Mane 6 physically, and that's a pretty good indicator of most Earth Ponies.

Actually that wouldn't be correct. The physical aspects is determined by the pony itself. We saw how Rainbow Dash went head to head with Applejack without her wings in the Running of the leaves. Also if you compare ponies like Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and Rarity you can't really say who is the strongest because that isn't a determined aspect like Unicorns are weakest because they have horn and earth pony are the strongest because they don't have neither wings nor magic.

The Running of the Leaves is more about a test of endurance rather than pure strength, and I'd say endurance-wise Applejack and Dash are pretty much the same.

Perhaps I should have worded it better, I believe that Earth Ponies are more inclined to be physically better than the other species. It's not always a sure thing, but I think that Earth Ponies have a predisposition to be stronger, since they can't rely on "normal" magic.

to expand on what HammyB said, I think I should clarify that Earth Ponies do have some magic in them.

According to Lauren Faust, it's in their hooves; they have a stronger connection to nature and they can make things grow.

I'm guessing that pretty much all plant life in Equestria ('cept for the stuff in Everfree Forest) is there because of Earth Ponies, 'cause Equestria's a weird place that can't function without pony intervention. (again, 'cept for Everfree)

Also random Trivia: Alicorns also have earth-pony hooves.

There we go! That makes really good sense, so I would go with their explanation on that! Thank you for clarifying for me. I knew they had to have some type of magic, I just didn't know what it could be!

I don't think other species can learn magic like a unicorn, since they don't have a catalyst (The horn) for more powerful spells like unicorns do.

However, other species do have magical abilities. Pegasi have weather magic and the ability to manipulate clouds, such as walking or pushing them. Zebras have more of a physical affinity to magic, using potions, talismans, and brews. The only one I'm not certain of are Earth Ponies, but I think that they are more physically adept than their winged and horned counterparts to make up for lack of magic. Of course, that's just my headcanon, but I think it's a pretty sound theory myself!

Dat mouth kinda killed the face for me, I cringed when I first saw it. I guess it's warming up to me, but I loved her little dance when seeing Daring Do the best. I never realized how cute Dash is when she's fangirling!
